JERUSALEM (AFP) - An Israeli army reserve officer was indicted on Friday at a Tel Aviv court for allegedly spying on behalf of Hamas, Iran and Russia, army radio reported.
David Shamir, 45, a psychiatrist, is suspected of having contacts with foreign agents to send information on the army to the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, Russian secret services and the Jewish state's arch-enemy Iran, it said.
Shamir is alleged to have given details about the deployment of medical troops during times of war, the location of their headquarters, plans for evacuating civilian populations, the report said.
