Where British have BAFTA; Americans have OSCAR; Persians went beyond the imagination and formed WAALM!
The World Academy of Arts, Literature, and Media - WAALM supports, develops, and promotes dramatic and fine arts, creative writing and poetry, as well as professional journalism and media productions by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners, and benefiting the public.
WAALM confers the most outstanding people of Arts, Literature, and Media from all over the world for their contribution and dedications in their practice and industry with a mystic Persian Golden Lioness Award statuette to mark their efforts and celebrate their success.
While The World Academy of Arts, Literature, and Media is the awarding body, the Persian Golden Lioness Awards is the official title to its event.
The Persian Golden Lioness Awards (Formerly Persian Academy Awards International) had its first successful annual awards in the beautiful Grand Royal Ballroom of Budapest where over 25 artists, musicians, and scholars of Persia and Hungary were honored.

Among the Persian Awardees of 2005 we can name Masoud Assadolahi, the well known Actor and Stage Director.

Niloofar Beyzaie, Playwright and Stage Director who currently lives in Germany.

Sattar, the Persian Classic and Pop Vocalist.

Houshmand Aghili, the contemporary Classic Vocalist

Muhammad Heidari , the Classic Composer and instrumentalist

I was been informed that the 2nd Annual Persian Golden Lioness Awards is getting organised and soon the names of the awardees will be published. We have been informed that there will be over 6 different nationalities participating the 2nd annual awards and there will be approximately 50 Awards to confer which makes the WAALM truly an Oscar for Persians and prominent artists and scholars of other nations.
