California native Melody Khazae's early years sound like something out of a movie. She was born in Tehran, Iran during the height of the Revolution and spent her infancy in Greece before settling with her family in Southern California. There, the acting bug took hold and she graduated with a Bachelor's in Drama from UC Irvine .
She also studied at Larry Moss Studio and Steppenwolf West. Since then, her unique background has allowed her to play a myriad of characters from an Indian girl onstage in "Lysistrata" to film roles as Latina, Iraqi, and Italian characters.
Fluent in Farsi, she has used her language skills on screen as well. Melody makes her feature film debut in the pivotal role of Zahra Baraheri in Wayne Kramer's much anticipated "Crossing Over". The Weinstein Company film will be released in late 2007 and stars Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, Ray Liotta, and Ashley Judd.
