An Iranian man residing in New York City has committed suicide after shooting dead his teenage daughter and mother-in-law.
The New York police found the dead bodies of the murderer Mohammad Shojaiefard and his mother-in-law Batoul Biraman, 66, in a small rented house 20 miles from east Manhattan, Fars news agency reported on Saturday.
The 49-year-old murderer also seriously injured his wife Haleh Mohseni, 40, before shooting himself dead.
His wife and his 17-year-old daughter Mandana Shojaiefard were rushed to hospital.
Doctors announced the death of the teenage girl in hospital after a short time but they expect the wife to survive despite severe health conditions.
According to New York police, the couple had been living separately for 18 months and was going to formally divorce.
The neighbors said they heard the family fighting on Friday and that they saw the murderer returning home carrying a holdall.

Shojaeifard's wife, Haleh Mohseni, 40, and their daughter, Mandana Shojaeifard, 17, were hospitalized. The teenager later died. The wife was listed in serious condition but was expected to survive, police said.
Nassau County police said the couple had been separated for 18 months and were getting a divorce. The wife and daughter were renting the home.
Neighbors said a violent argument erupted on the front lawn of the house early Friday over an upcoming move, Detective Sgt. Richard Laursen said. A moving truck was parked in front of the house, he said.
Neighbors later saw the man come back to the house carrying a sports bag.
A shotgun was recovered from the house.

Shoejaeifard then turned the gun on himself, police said.
Biraman and Shojaeifard were reportedly found dead at the scene. Shojaeifard's daughter, Mandana, was rushed to Withrop Hosptial where she later died. Mohseni was rushed to the hospital where she is listed in serious but stable condition.
A moving truck was seen parked outside the residence when authorities arrived to the scene. According to reports, an employee of the moving company witnessed the crime and was interviewed by police at the scene.
Roslyn Heights is about 20 miles east of Manhattan.
