I wonder how many are not full-blooded, like me. What has it been like for you guys and gals.
As for me:
1. My late father, Ali Salehi-Dehaghi, Immigrated to the USA in the 70's. My mother's Anglo (white). But my dad passed away in 1988 when I was four. I was raised as the son of a white woman.
2. I speak english. I've kept putting of learning Farsi. Even though I live in the South I don't have the accent.
3. The relatives I have known are mother's family.
4. By my 12th grade year of high school, some of the student body knew me by the name "George."
5. As for racial profiling: I have been asked various times, in almost equaly various manners. People have assumed I am Iraqi, Jewish, Mexican, and Chinese. Yes, there are humans dumb enough for chinese. A total of four people in 12 years. I have had two seperate Latins mistake me for latin. So I've cut it some slack.
6. 9-11-2001 happened my 11th grade year of high school. By some miracle, 99 percent of the rest of my time spent in school involved folks saying I looked like Jesus.
7. By the way, On school paperwork and my drivers licence I'm White. I haven't heard "why" exactly, but I have heard that it's ok.
