Reach out - Communicate!!!



A colleague who sits besides me
Sent across an email
It was an invite to his marriage
And it said 'Do come without fail'

We spend eight hours each day
Sitting within five feet of each other
But I was not sure if he was married
Or if he had any sister or brother

I was vaguely aware of him
As we used the same extension
But since our projects were different
We shared no other connection

It's said that in our lives
Communication is highly crucial
But what we do communicate
Is becoming more and more superficial

For I get many forwards everyday
About the meaning of life and so on
But just a handful of friends mail me
Asking how my life is going on

I have my birthday approaching
And my sister will give me a hug
But it will be through egreetings.com
For she'll be in UK fixing a bug

So know more about the stranger
With whom you share the phone
Speak to him some time today
And he'll feel he is not alone

this was a very nice poem, it really simply explained the relationship that we have with many of those around us. I think its good to know even a little bit about those around us, a little is better than nothing. I know it may be hard to try to get to know those around us since it does require effort and the other party wanting to share information about themselves, but if you show a genuine interest about those around you, they will open up. In learning about others, we learn about ourselves as well. Thanks for this beautiful poem Hari

beautifully said nilo "by knowing others we learn/know abt ourselves"...thats y we know ourselves a lot thru our love coz we open our heart without any hesitation...and we dont hesitate to hear wat our love says... being a broad minded to others is the toughest thing to do becoz everyone is selfish...i heard this quote somewhere .."basically human is an animal" we tend to think abt ourselves a lot than others. giving ear to others is one of the toughest thing to do.

and its my pleasure to share something here which touches me... so no more thanks to alienate me.
