Stairways to Heaven
One of the most amazing songs of all times...Stairways to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.
I remember the first time I heard the song, something inside me just went numb and I listened to the song over a dozen of times. I picked up the cover and went by the ocean about 2 miles from my house and did a charcoal drawing of the Album cover, I still have it and the floor to ceiling poster of it hangs in my meditation room.
To say that I was mystified by the lyrics is underestimating the enormity of its words. "and a new day will dawn for those who stand long and the forest will echo with laughter"..."Yes, there are two paths you can go by...But in the long run..There's still time to change the road you're on. ' and last but not least "our shadows are taller than our souls"..
Robert Plant who is perhaps one of the most creative song writers of our time wrote this at his cabin by the fireplace..I wonder what was he thinking right at that moment?
Every so often through music we get messages that though at time just pass us by.. yet they remain for eternity an inherit part of our growing selves. I will post some of those songs and you can decide if I am right or not.
