Great news! Congratulations Siavash

Siavash, Yes, the "Boro dige doset nadaram" Siavash,
Along with Sting, Seal, Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Ruben Studdard, was nominated for a Grammy award for "Best Pop Male Vocalist" for two songs from his album "The Voice" for the 46th annual Grammy awards.
You will find his name and songs in Category 6: #90, #91

Over 800 record companies submit over 15,000 entries and 150 top industry executives select the songs to be nominated for the first nomination ballot each year. Siavash received a call from the Grammy's in August and was informed he had been chosen to be on this ballot. The ballot is then sent to over 9,000 recording academy members and the top five from each category go to the final stage of the Grammy's in February. Although Siavash did not make the top five, it was an honor for him to be nominated and he was the first Iranian born artist to be nominated in the United States for singing in the English language.

Although he will not be performing in the Grammy's he was invited to attend the ceremonies and will be a part of the televised show.

I'm sorry but i think you've all been fed a whole load of bull........

Siavash's name is NO WHERE in the list of nominees on the OFFICIAL 46th Grammy Awards website.
Yes his name is on a list which had 'Grammy' at the bottom.....but for god's sake.....that's the list of entries!!!!

By Your own accounts, thousands & thousands of artists put in entries but very few of them get nominated. Siavash's name IS on the list of entries.....but that's becuase him or his manager sent it in!

His names not anywhere on the list of nominees (which counts) in any of the categories that he claims.

you seem to be one of those negative persians that tries to be against everyone but the mollahs, anyhow if you can read and read carefully nobody clamed that Siavash was the winner, he was nominated and the fact that out of thousands and thousands who gets nominated siavashes name is ranked between 85-91 3 times for 3 diferent songs. him or his manager never clamed that he was the winner so read those two PDF files and you'll see his name in those ranges

please go back & read my posting. I never mentioned that the gullible iranians think that he won....the 46th Grammy's haven't even taken place yet...its on the 8th of FEB....i know becuase i will be attending!

you still think he was nominated!!!! unbelievable.....HE WASN'T....his name only appears on those 2 pages becuase he ENTERED....nominated & entered are 2 totally diferrent stories!

allow me to explain:
Entered: he sent in his music & entered in the mentioned categories
Nominated: The RIAA (recording industry association of America) & the judges, music experts etc....go through these thousands & thousands & thousands of entries & short list 5 in each category.....

BIG DIFFERENCE!

Siavash was not nominated.......he just entered....stop throwing parties in his honor!

I DO NOT SEE thousands and thousands and thousands of names on those pages and I wonder why ??? huummmmm ah I know why because they PICKED those two pages to be on those pages, other wise you would have seen at least more than 20 thousands of names on those pages ....

if you are nominated then I can see the list could be 2 pages or so, but if they were to just put the listings on their site then be sure the list would have been at least at least 200 pages so don't argeu the facts plz

First of all, It is really sad that a person would have the audacity to speak in such a manner about a singer who has been nothing but honest with his fans for the last 20 years. It is also so sad that you have so much anger and that you would choose to hide it behind "Guest".

For the record:

Neither Siavash or his management are liars.

Siavash was nominated for the 46th annual Grammy ballot.

Several if Siavash songs were ENTERED in several categories and only three of his songs were NOMINATED to be on the official ballot. There are over 800 record companies that submit songs to the Recording Academy. Those are considered ENTRIES. Out Of all of those thousand of songs, there is a panel of 150 judges that review the entries and choose or vote the songs that will go through the second vote, those songs that are chosen, go on the official grammy ballot and are sent to the members for a second vote. Siavash was chosen/nominated to be on the official 46th annual grammy ballot. Only about 110 songs were chosen in each category that you see. There are no other pages for all of the entries. Any joe smoe could send an entrie and it will not get on the grammy ballot and it will not go to the second vote. I was personally called by the office of the recording academy to be informed that certain songs where going to be on the ballot. The links that you see to the lists are from the Grammy website, that is the official nomination list, and is the ballot that was voted on for the top 5, it comes from the grammy site itself. No, it is not on there now to the general public but is available for members.

You do not see "Joe smhoe" and "andy blow" on the ballot list because they did not make the ballot list, what you see is the final songs chosen by the members to be on the ballot. You see, Shaggy, Sting, Siavash, Paul Mcartney, Justin Timberlake and very few names you don't recognize, Siavash happens to be one of very few out of a hundred that the general public wouldn't recognize. If, Guest, you know someone who is a member of the recording academy, then you can see the official ballot they voted on. These final lists get sent to 9000 members and the top five votes are the final nominees that get chosen and that are listed on the Grammy site. Siavash was still invited to the Grammys and will be there. There is not a list of all the entries, that does not exist. All that exists is the list of first round nominees and then the final five. If you check out the link that has Siavash's name on it, it is a Grammy link. It is not an entry list, it is the OFFICIAL 46th ANNUAL GRAMMY BALLOT.

It is so sad that such hatred and jealousy exists. There is room for everyone to do well and yet, there is still such hatred for someone like Siavash, who we all should be so proud of.

Write whatever you want guest, I won't check back. Educate yourself and know the facts before you speak.

For the sake of all the Iranian's hearts that i must have broken with a bit of reality, i hope you're right.

I'm sorry if you disagree with the simple fact that Iranians tend to blow things out of proportion & frankly bull**** frequently to make themselves feel better. I cannot count the number of time Iranians have claimed to have been nominated for an Academy award, Grammy, Cannes Film festival etc......True alot of them actually did get recognition in those events.....but more often than not.....its all fabricated & over glorified.

I'm Iranian....i should know!

If Siavash was genuinly recognized for his work (still an IF i'm afraid) then way to go! If not....them i'm afraid i will always be this angy about our reputation of ...(for lack of a better word)....bluffing!
