  • Please support our national team my friends

I hope that Iranians will always support their country and the athletes representing it through good times and bad! don't be a vatanforoosh! it isn't as though the players care less than us the fans! the players will never do as well as we would all like when people are constantly ruining their morale with unconstructive criticism. I hear that 50 000 people booed ali daie at the world cup. Very well, i agree that dainasor should no longer play, but now that he is, ruining his roohie won't help him do better!

The Iranian adat of tashfigh nakardan is hurting our national team and our country in many other ways as well!

secondly! Iran played very well during the world cup! Just not against mexico. against mexico I concede that we played badly. Even in the first half which everyone thinks went so well for us, we just enjoyed being in the opponent's box and didn't strike. Stupid mistakes were made that a team at World Cup level shouldn't make. But against portugal, team melli did really well! they tied the first half against a country that had a chance at the title! we eventually lost 2-0 but one of those goals was a penalty which in my opinion is usually not as shamefull as a "normal" goal! also, it was pure luck that teymoorian and khatibi didn't score (or was teymoorian offsides? i don't know. khatibi at any rate).

draing angola was a disappointment because we created the better opportunities, but they are a strong team which also drew mexico.

Scolari, portugal's coach and perhaps the best coach in the cup (he was brazil's coach in 2002), praised the Iranian team! Mirzapoor displayed some world-class goalkeeping in that game, and kaabi created not a few headaches for the celebrated christiano ronaldo. We saw that Iran is capable of drawing a top-form portuguese team (which gave france more trouble than brazil, hehe), though obviously we are the weaker team.

all this with an injured karimi, who most people agree is our best player.

Also, don't forget the friendly with germany in 2004. While we also lost that game 2-0, don't forget how Karimi struck terror into the hearts of the german defenders, and only the skill of lehmann prevented him from scoring a goal.

Iran tied croatia (croatia's equalizer was a penalty I can't agree with), and croatia is a good team.

Branko may have been a good man but he didn't even speak persian and he was not the best choice for teame melli.

Please support these fine young men and we will see even better things from them

    thanks

Sepide, Teame Melli had a recent friendly with the club Rah Ahan and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

But guys, most of the TM players were new young players that Qalehnoei has introduced (he called up 40 players to get ready for the Asian Nations cup), and not used to playing with eachother. It isn't as if we had Karimi, Mirzapoor (don't even start with Mirzapoor-he is Iran's best and I have seen great saves from him. Check out some clips and see how he often shocks foreign commentators. With more experience he will hopefully be able to stamp out his tendency to make fatal mistakes), Kia, etc. However, Kaabi and rezai were playing, and I guess Enayati isn't so bad and he was playing.

It's important not to place much importance on a friendly game like this where new players and systems are being tested. It happens to all teams. Don't get me wrong, I am as distressed by the failure to smoke Rah Ahan as anyone but we should reserve judgement until important games like those of the Asian Nations Cup qualifiers.

Bah, Iran played better in that game. it was just stupid branko's fault, he was afraid of losing and didn't go for an offensive strategy.

But Kudos to Angola, great goalkeeper, good players, good spirit. I wish Iran and Angola moved on

As long as this ghalenoei is the TM's coach, I will not even bother to watch a minute of their games. let alone to support them!
