  • Sarah Shahi

Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (DCC) Sarah Shahi played the role of Jenny on ABC's Alias and the role of Meg on NBC's Class of '06". Sarah is no stranger to entertainment, having been a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader's Show Group during the 1999 season.

Not only did she travel and perform at various USO events, she also graced the cover of Muscular Development magazine, as well as the DCC's 2000 swimsuit calendar. Most recently she played Carmen on the Showtime series The L Word. See the links below to learn more about Sarah.

The great-great-granddaughter of a 19th century Iranian Shah hopes to be a role model for women in her family's homeland. However, she'd probably be arrested if she showed up in the Muslim nation wearing her skimpy cheerleader outfit. Sarah Shahi, a 19-year-old descendant of Fath Ali Shah, is one of 29 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for 1999-2000 and the cover girl for the famed group's new calendar. “I know social rules in Iran are very conservative and I am very respectful for that and every type of culture,” Ms. Shahi told The Dallas Morning News. “But I also would like to become an example for women in that country.”

Not likely, said Dariush Khairkhah, coordinator of the National Iranian Congress, an opposition group based in Los Angeles.“Although social rules in Iran are a little moderate nowadays, women can't show their hair or wear makeup,” Khairkhah said. “A woman is supposed to cover all her body under the threat of imprisonment.” He predicted Ms. Shahi would be sentenced to at least three months in prison for wearing her white boots, short-shorts and revealing blue top.

Ms. Shahi's ancestor was one in a long line of Shahs who ruled Iran for hundreds of years before Islamic fundamentalists overthrew the government in 1979. “I think he'd probably be pleased and happy of the advancements I have made,” Ms. Shahi said. Ms. Shahi has never been to Iran. While most of her family still lives there, her parents came to the United States more than 20 years ago.

Sarah Shahi was born on 10th January 1980, in Euless, Texas, USA. She attended Southern Methodist University, and in 2002 was the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar Covergirl. She is also the great-granddaughter of a 19th Century Iranian Shah, Hath Ali Shah Qajar. She's 5', 4" tall.

Tony Soprano’s Fear and Loathing–style swing through Vegas on May 13th episode introduced America to the character of Sonya Aragon, representing what’s sure to become a new male-fantasy archetype: the gorgeous stripper with a heart of gold and a mound of peyote.

(Of course, Sonya is stripping her way through college -- which Chris Rock has dismissed as “the stripper myth”!) The character left men (and not a few women) with one question in their minds: Who was that girl? It’s Sarah Shahi, a 27-year-old former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader .

As Dani Reese on the NBC hit show "Life"

See NBC's new drama series "Life." Shahi's previous credits include the critically acclaimed series "The L Word" where she played Carmen, a bilingual production assistant who spends her evenings as a dee jay.

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Shahi moved to Los Angeles in 2000. As a member of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, she had a chance meeting with Robert Altman (in town shooting "Dr. T and the Women") at the Cowboy Ranch, who encouraged her to move to Los Angeles and pursue acting. In 2000, she graced the cover of the notorious Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader calendar and embarked on a USO tour, which took her to entertain the troops in Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Italy.

A newcomer to Hollywood, Shahi has previously appeared in the films "Old School," "For Your Consideration" and on the television series "The Sopranos," "Dawson's Creek," "Frasier" and "Alias."
