I would like to nominate Professor M. Hashem Pesaran FBA as my Iranian of the day.
He is a well-knwon economist and econometrician. Specially, he is know as a leading scholar in panel-data analysis.
He and his brother have develpoed an econometrics package called MICROFIT. He is cuurently a professor at cabridge University, UK.
