  • Some people believe in God but say that religions are man-made

This is another thing which I wanted to have a discussion about.

Some people say that they believe in God but religions are man-made, which implies that the messenger of God is a random person

of course, i dont agree with this, NO WAY nu-uh!

I am only numbering these for sake of clarity, they are not the only things which i wanted to mention. But i cant think of everything right now

    1. But then how is it that these messengers predict such things which precisely happen

    2. So by saying that we dont need to listen to messengers of God,dont you think that you are infact saying that you as a human being are pefect and dont need to receive divine guidance. Its being big-headed dont you think?

    3. God himself cant come down and talk to us, can he? Of course he's got to use someone of our own kind (a human being) to get the message across.

its like asking where do u stand in the row of rational and irrational.

Religion, God are certainly man made, confusion exist until science can explain with damn proof.

        1. Forgive my ignorance, but arent you hindu? If so, are you saying that krishna was man-made?

        2. There are plenty. When Bahaullah was imprisoned, he wrote out tablets to rulers of the world at that time. He envisaged something about napolean (i cant remember what exactly). Or Muhammad said something (i cant remember exactly, but it was related to science of some sort) and at the time everyone laughed at him but later he was proved right. Christ also talked about a few things and its mentiond in the bible and again they happened. There are many

I would like to counteract your argument and ask you to provide your proofs for the non-existence of God. But to be honest i dont want you to mention that in this thread because the focus of this thread is regarding people and whether or not religion is man-made.

(there is another thread about the proofs for the existence of God. Perhaps reply there if you want to).

Those people confuse the fact that religion was a necessity for a community. That reason, which is true, doesn't mean its purely "man made". Anything in the world can be explained as the will of God, but there's no way to refute or prove that.

            1. People who have had a certain childhood and are in a certain leadership position will be able to predict the future for others. The only supernatural element can be argued to be as stated above, that MAYBE it is the will of God. The reason "maybe" is that its not possible to prove it. A person's childhood can make them especially smart in understanding human nature and predicting specific occurances in the future. This is at least, plausible, and it poses a problem to the argument. At least it seems.

            2. Perhaps one would be bigotted to think they don't need any moral guidance. The question is why it must be a messanger as opposed to something else, especially, for instance, the TEACHING of the messanger, even without knowing the messanger. Can't one learn the teachings of a messanger without knowing it came from him/her?
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
and he will make the face of heaven so fine,
that all the world will be in love with night,
and pay no worship to the garish sun

let me confess i'm not an atheist, at the same time I don't believe in Krishna, Rama, Shiva or whatever ... these for those who are Ignorants and don't believe in themselves.... they need someone carry their burden so y we have 30 billion God's exist for them. Hinduism is not a religion (say it again )... its a way to live, where a religion is something founded by someone at sometime. I'm proud to be a Hindu, it never taught me to hurt myself/others to please God, never taught me discipline to reach God it just shows only truth.... where Love is God when everyone can possess love they can be God.... in tamil we say "Anbae Sivam" (Love is Shiva).

I don't believe in miracles even I can make it happen. I myself a miracle. Examples whatever u give is something u can do it, problem is self belief.

The problem with religion I find is they don't preach truth, still considering humans as an ignorant animals and think they can't accept the truth that we have evolved one hundred percent, the thing is religous leaders should come out of thier religous books and feel the true world out now.
