What is the difference Between Persian and Iranian?

Iranians claim Persian and Iranian are the same people. That is entirely wrong. Persians and Iranians are entirely different people. I will explain the difference between the two.

Persians are not a homogenous group and Persian is not a race. Natives of Iran have different origin. Persians are related in terms of culture, language, Zoarastrian religion, and history of ancient Persia. In anthropology Persians are defined as either Cromagnid with native origin or Nordic with Aryan origin (Iran: %35 Persian).

Iranians are Azeri Turks who are a major ethnic group in Iran. Iranian is a name adopted in 18 century by Azeri Turks from European books. Iran was called Khorasan for 1000 years. Iranians originate from Oghuz Turks. Iranians are defined as dinaric alpine (Iran: 40% Azeri). Currently Iranians control the regime in Tehran. Iranians/Azeri are recent migrants to Iran since 14 century.

What is stated in books about Iranians and their history and anthropology is not relevant to this discussion as we are discussing how the "Iranian" is used in Iran today. There is no Iranian ethnicity in Iran. Iranian refers to Azeri Turks in Iran. Other ethnic groups and natives of Iran have their own name and none of them is called Iranian. The natives of Iran are called Persian, Kurd, Lurs, Balooch, Arab , Gilani, Mazandarani, Talysh etc.

Iranians and Persians are entirely different people and belong to different subracial types. Persians are either Cromagnid with native origin or Nordic with Aryan origin. Iranians are Dinaric Alpine. Iranians originate from 30 different Azeri Turk tribes and there are also some variations within them.

Due to propoganda by the regime all Iranians imagine they are Persians. Iranians/Azeris always present themselves as Persians and assume Persian identity. That is not the real and true. "Iranian" identity is not Persian identity.

Persians and Iranians have entirely different cultures. Persian culture is related to ancient Persia, Central Asia and Afghanistan. Iranian Culture is related to Turks in Anatolia and Caucasus.

Oslonor is not Iranian,he's most likely a Pan-turk or a Afghan Pashtun trying to cause some problems in Iran.... all he does is spam all over Iranian sites.

The ethnic population of Iran is 65% persian (including subgroups)... And even the Iranian Azeris (most) consider themself persian/Iranian. They have persian names, eat Persian food, celebrate persian holidays, behave Persian, speak the persian language, and most important thing of all is that they consider themself persian..... the only people who claim Turkics are 30 million in Iran are pan-turks (who get their info from their ars).

("ethnic" PERSIANS 65% of Iran, including saubgroups)
Iran has historically been a multinational empire dominated by Persians, not a nation-state, leading to a complex ethnic makeup in the modern Iranian state. The Persians account for slightly more than half the population of 70,000,000, a smaller proportion than the Russians were in the Soviet Union. Arabs made up a sizable minority in Iran (3 percent of the total population) in 1986.

By 2008 the main ethnic groups in Iran remained the Persians (65 percent). Other groups were the Azerbaijanis (20 percent), Kurds (7 percent), others (6 percent), Arabs (2 percent), Baluchis (2 percent), Turkmens (1 percent), tribal groups such as the Qashqai (1 percent), and non-Persian, such as Armenians, Assyrians, and Georgians (less than 1 percent).

I saw this in another forum. Some Azeri supporter of Ahmadinejad is calling himself Altaic-Turanian. See what he says about Persians. This way Ahmadinejad is promoting his propoganda using Anatolian Turk label.

              Iran and Iranian Fraud

              Iran and Iranian Fraud

The name Iran was adopted in 15 century by the Saffavids Azeri Turks. Shah Ismael adopted Iran from Ferdowsi Shahnameh.

Shahnameh is epic stories written in 10 century by Ferdowsi. Ferdowsi created an imaginary country called Iran-Zamin or the land of Iran in his book. In reality most of the country Iran Zamin was outside Iran in Central Asia, Afghanistan and Kashmir. Only Tous was in Khorasan Iran.

It is very funny that when Shah Ismail Saffavid was adopting the name of Iran from Ferdowsi legends, his advisor told him that "We do not know where this country (Iran) is located."!!!!! The name Iran in Shahnameh has nothing to do with any Aryans. The country of Ferdowsi was a very diverse country and was not related to Aryans even Aryans might have lived there.

Iranian was adopted by Azeri Turk Qajar dyansty in 18 century from European books. Iran and Iranian are both fake identities created by Azeri Turks to create a new identity for themselves.

Under Parthian-Persian Sassanian dynasty in 6 century, Iran was called Eran. But Eran is not related to Iran at all. They are not the same country name.

The real name of Iran is Khorasan. Khorasan means the "The Land of Rising Sun".
