The Search for the Star Musician of Iran is a worldwide contest intended to promote Iranian musicians and the timeless music the country possesses. Since 1979, many Iranians have been dispersed throughout the world, and as a result, our country's most proficient musicians have gone un-noticed. For this reason, the search has begun for the two most gifted amateur Iranian musicians of today, one Instrumentalist and one Vocalist.

Hundreds of musicians from around the world are sending their audition tapes to meet the May 31st, 2005 deadline. Amongst all these contestants, the top five Instrumentalists and top five Vocalists will then be invited to perform at the finals in September of 2005 in Washington D.C. Two nights of hotel accommodation will be provided for all Finalists as they compete live for $5,000 in cash! In addition, the vocalist winner will be awarded an original song with lyrics by renowned song writer Paksima, music by the talented Nami, and a music video by the one and only Koji. This original song will be recorded at the famous Crystal Lake Studio in Los Angeles. The music video will be broadcasted on Iranian Satellite Stations internationally.
