I am suprised no one has posted on New Orleans. I don't know how to sum up the disaster. Here is a small list of SOME of the problems

*Winds from cat.5 hurricane smashed in many cities along the coast

*Levies have busted and heavy rain has lead to flooding in New Orleans

*Thousands of refugees have no where to go

*All prisoners are let out. Looting is rampant, gangs with guns robbed gun stores and took AK 47's and have shot ppl, policeman, and raped women, even killing for food!!

*Dead bodies are everywhere, sanitation is not existant

*No electricity, gas, or other necessities

*Oil prices have sky-rocketed

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I mean this is not a little puddle, this is a huge disaster.

I cannot believe no one posts on this. Here we have one of the most gruesome catastrophies in history, and nobody responds.

So far most ppl have been evacuated but lawlessness continues as gunmen opened fire on police and contractors. Two officers have committed suicide because they could not take the scenes of death and destruction.

according to the AP, a six year-old boy was found taking care of six babies. They said he was holding a newborn baby, and the rest of the toddlers were following him around. Apparently he took care of them well because they were all in good condition. Funny how this brings out the best and the worst in people.

Mayor Ray Nagin was offering to let people return to N.O. but canceled that today as hurricane Rita just formed, and looks poised to come into the Gulf...

BTW it looks like round 2 for the USA. Hurricane Rita could strenghthen n2 a cat 4 or 5? Not good. Might hit New Orleans but will most likely hit Galveston, Texas.

BTW Rita has reflooded New Orleans' ninth ward, the poorest part of new Orleans as some levees are again busting.

Meanwhile in Houston, many poor people in Houston's GheTTO, the 5th Ward cannot get out. They are poor, carless, cashless, and some even homeless! Ey Baba, Here we go again.
