True to the meaning of her name, Perizaad Zorabian does look like born of a beautiful, ethereal, effervescent fairy. She has the effervescence and energy of a teenager and a million-dollar smile that captivates.

Having studied in Auxilium Convent High School (Mumbai), Perizaad took the B.Com course in Bombay University. After her post-graduation, she secured admission in one of the Top 20 colleges in New York for her MBA studies.

Then there was no looking back for Perizaad who supported herself in the US by taking up a job at Hotel Lexington. At the same time she also enrolled into an acting school. When she came back to India she did not harbor any dreams of stepping under Bollywood’s arc lamps. So she began helping her father in his poultry farm business.

It was during this time, she met a model coordinator Mona Irani who offered her modeling assignments. In the meantime, she did a play Unfaithful directed by Kunal Vijaykar and a show on Sony TV called Hum Pardesi.

Later, 'Bollywood Calling' happened wherein she got a chance to work with Om Puri and Navin Nischol.

With Bollywood Calling like never before, this Jogger’s Park girl has the effervescence and energy of a teenager and a million dollar smile. She will soon dance by Moonlight and tickle the funny bone in a Thriller! First noticed as a model, Perizaad Zorabian reveals the products she swears by.

Casual Comfort

Most of the time you will spot me in t-shirts and jeans. I have used DNKY, Miss Sixty and other big brands but I swear by Levi’s as nothing has a more perfect fit. For tops I go to nooks and corners in New York like 14th Street, 34th street or West Street, where you get cheap stuff. In Bandra, I shop at Barefoot where you get a lot of cool linen and hip cotton fusionwear like s***ts and kurtis.

Formal Tucks

In Western formals I wear designerwear from Gavin Miguel as he has an amazing choice in colours and clean cuts. For Indian ethnicwear I go for Sangeeta Jashnani’s collection in Kaysons. I wear them for kitty parties or some film award functions.

Foot Loose

I am not a very sporty dresser who wears everything matching. I go for very basic patterns. In Mumbai I buy from Sole to Soul and in New York I shop at Contemp casual as it has femimine, bright and Latin colours and like Zara for its very crispy plain stuff.

War Paint

I use only Mac products as they have quality products. My makeup man uses them and maybe I am used to the look and feel. Red Earth is another brand I like for its colours.

Be Jewelled

I love diamonds and I buy all of them from Jai Manjani in Bandra as they are stunning and have modern patterns. My collections are all small pretty ones. No rocks!

Watch It

I have a Rolex and I love it. It is classic, understated and gorgeous. Moreover, it serves the purpose of a bracelet too.

Treasure Tote

I don’t have an obsession for bags or footwear like most women. I pick up anything I like from stores that stock shoes, accessories and clothes like Zara or Blak. When I go on tours I use a Samsonite travel bag.

Under Secrets

Victoria’s Secret. I swear by it!

Brands I long For In India

Zara. It is a Spanish company, having stores in Dubai, London and America. I wish it comes to India too as it is branded and at the same time stocks chic stuff that is decently priced.

Perizaad Zorabian (born 1973) is an Indian/Iranian actress who made her debut with Nagesh Kukunoor's movie, Bollywood Calling. She had made appearances in many music videos earlier.

Zorabian studied in New York City and upon acquiring an MBA returned to India to assist her father in his poultry farm business.

Zorabian is a member of the Irani community, the 'newer' (in comparison to the Parsis) group of Zoroastrians of the Indian subcontinent. However, presumably because the subtle difference between the early and later (18th century onwards) Zoroastrian immigrants is not commonly known, Zorabian has at least once referred to herself as a "Parsi girl".

Zorabian married construction tycoon and alleged gangster Boman Rustom Irani (not to be confused with the actor Boman Irani) on 9th December 2006.

Zorabian made international headlines when she declined a role in a lesbian-centred film, citing her "own personal inhibitions about playing a lesbian” as the driving force behind her decision.Purva Bedi has since accepted the role in When ***an Met Karen.

In the case between Perizaad's alleged gangster and construction tycoon husband Boman Rustom Irani and closely related family which involved Boman ordering a brutal assault on his own relatives, substantial evidence has been provided which brought Boman back in to the case, interestingly prior to his honeymoon.

"Meanwhile, the accused has been added back to the case on the charges submitted and the evidence presented by police under the direction of the commissioner will send Boman Rustom Irani packing off to Jail.

Mr. Irani has sent his wife; Perizaad Zorabian, off on a honeymoon of her own for his access to the United States was denied. Zorobian might want to get use to hugging pillows for that may be her only company during her time as a newlywed as her husband faces time behind bars."

"December 7th... Boman Rustom Irani and Perizaad Zorabian exchanged vows in a private ceremony yesterday in Mumbai. The wedding was a small Parsi ceremony at the Colaba Agaiary and will be followed by a grand reception at Taj Land’s End on December 9, 2006. The two wll not experience the honeymoon of choice. Unfortunately, Hawaii and the United States are off limits for Irani. He has recently been brought up on charges of assault and attempted murder against two American Citizens.

What is Bomans excuse for why he cannot travel within the United States to introduce his new bride to relatives residing there... "I broke my toe in 3 places so I will be unable to visit this year..."

The irony of this statement lies in the fact that he was able to stand for the duration (4 hours) of the wedding.

The other Irony in this situation lies in the fact that the two exchanged vows in a Parsi Agaiary when it is rumored that the fledgling actress in a convert to Christianity. Where most religious establishments that cater to the Zoroastrian community do not allow access to those who are not part of or disown their fath, there seems to be an exception here. Is this another exception the Parsi Panchayat makes when money is involved or is it a case such as Zorabians where she just cannot live without publicity at this stage in her career.

This was definately a shot-gun wedding setup in true mafia style. There was no choice for Irani and Zorabian for this to be a quiet affair. This is neither the wedding of the year or a couple of interest as we find from news informants who state that publicity generated for the actress usually stems from the wallet of her proposed suitor."

Could this be the case that pioneers in fighting corruption and bribery in India? Or will the greed of corrupt officials except Boman's fat checkbook?

She acted in Jogger's Park with Victor Banerjee and other films such as Viral Lakhia's Namaste and Anant Balani's Mumbai Matinee. In the Chinese film, Bandung Sonata, she played Indira Gandhi.
