    hello guys,
    my computer has a virus called "adware.virtumonde", both norton and AVG anti virus keep catching it and deleting it, but it reappears constantly while i am surfing the net, and it freezes my browser, when i wanna type a cure for it in yahoo or google, my adware blocker and trojan remover are not able to delete it, although they detect it. can anyone find the right software 4 me to nuke this pesky bug? i would appreciate any advice, mercii!!

      Type: Security Risk Removal Tool, Adware
      Risk Impact: Low ( SO DONT WORRY ABT IT)
      File Names: This adware has reportedly been detected as %Windir%\WindowsUpd1.exe or sysupd.exe; but it may rename itself during execution.
      Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP

      Behavior

      Adware.VirtuMonde is an adware program that downloads and displays popup advertisements.

      Symptoms

      Your Symantec program detects Adware.VirtuMonde.

      Transmission

      This program must be manually installed or installed as a component of another program.
      Solution:

      1) try to use this tool...

      2) scan the disks using mcafee avirus and remove the virus

      3)To delete the value from the registry

      Important: Symantec strongly recommends that you back up the registry before making any changes to it. Incorrect changes to the registry can result in permanent data loss or corrupted files. Modify the specified subkeys only. Read the document: How to make a backup of the Windows registry.

      1. Click Start > Run.
      2. Type regedit

      Then click OK.

      Note: If the registry editor fails to open the risk may have modified the registry to prevent access to the registry editor. Security Response has developed a tool to resolve this problem. Download and run this tool, and then continue with the removal.

      3. Navigate to the subkey:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

      4. In the right pane, delete the value:

      "WindowsUpd" = "[ADWARE FILENAME]"

      5. Navigate to the subkey:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

      6. In the right pane, delete the value:

      "SysUpd" = "[ADWARE FILENAME]"

      7. Navigate to and delete the following subkeys:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{CA21E6F A-41D9-4F05-9650-8B3FBE72124D}scan

        indian blues, thx so much for u scouting out a cure for my virus dilemna, i thought that link would have helped me, but since i fiddled around with the virus manually it was not detectable anymore by that removal tool, so i have no other choice but to reformat my harddrive. i got that virus when i was looking for a serial crack code for a certain program and stumbled on a website that infected me with that bug, and to top it off, it was a favor for a friend, and it got me into this mess, lol, well its a tip 4 the future, don't go to crack sites that give u codes, they just mess things up even more
