I saw Reza on his various appearances on the Daily Show. I'm finding his views great, but not strongly voiced. I personally believe that political reform is a central part of current Islamic progress and even progress of Iran, but many people don't see this and simply want to reject Islamic politics instead of reform it. Dr. Aslan's research and views influenced my view on the significance of reform, but I didn't see him going against the total rejection of Islamic politics very strongly.

Vali bazam damesh garm, karesh khayli dorost bud. Coming across too strongly perhaps would defeat the purpose of being a scholar? Or come to think of it, if someone talks reform these days people will falsely accuse that person of being a hezbollahi.
