Choosing a tattoo should be a thorough process. They are intended to be forever, and removal is expensive. The more planning that goes into your design of choice, the more likely that you will enjoy your tattoo later in life.

Steps

Be happy with what design you have on your body. As long as you like it, that's the most important thing. That being said, there are factors that can make you love or hate your tattoo.

Find a design that has meaning for you. Even if you cannot draw, a little practice and patience can get you a good outline, at least. Most tattoo artists will help you redraw and redesign a tattoo.

Find an artist or designer and ask them to make you a custom design for you.

Many tattoo artists are also convential artists, or can at least reproduce a traditional drawing, sketch or painting onto your skin.

Find a style that you especially like, and an artist that works in that style.

Most artists will do what you want, but also excel in certain "looks." Check portfolios, and compare old school, new school, naturalistic, asian, B&W, etc.

Writing, in any form or language, should be thought over twice as long.

Check and recheck the meanings of any words or idiograms of a language you aren't fluent in. Choose quotes carefully. Search for a font you like, or create your own.

Consider carefully what body part you want your tattoo on. Some places you'll look at it every day, some almost never. Consider how likely it will be that you will need to cover it with clothing or otherwise at some point.

Try to get a printout of the design, and see how the design will fit against your skin.

Use henna to get a temporary version of the design. You won't be able to see different colors, or certain looks, but you will be able to judge the feeling of a tattoo. Henna lasts a week to a month.

Think about it alot. When you are certain, wait some more time. Just to make sure.

Tips

The number one tattoos that artits are asked to cover up, after homemade tattoos, are NAMES. If the person is not dead, or your child, names are usually not the best idea.

Asian characters are a popular choice, as it is a way to get a meaning in a design. The tattoo studio walls are not the place to trust when looking for a character. Many have double meanings, nuances, things that may give an impression that wasn't intended.

Often members of a family will get matching or complimentary tattoos. Often, younger generations will incorporate elements of older family members tattoos in their own designs.

A band, TV show, or comic book character you love today may not be something you want to carry around forever on your skin.

Don't be afraid to get a tattoo that doesn't have a deep meaning if you love the design. If you love Winnie the Pooh enough to look at him forever, get that pooh bear.

Feet, hands, and faces need more touchups, and more attention to heal properly. Expect to pay more for these areas. Some artists refuse to do facial or hand tattoos on a person that doesn't already have visible tattoos.

If you feel hesitant, either about the design or the artist, don't go through with it.

Warnings

Some people are against cultural approbation, where someone take a meaningful aspect of another's culture and uses it for fashionable reasons. If you are getting a tattoo of a traditional symbol, you should know the meaning and history of that symbol.

Laser tattoo removal is very expensive, painful, and time consuming. In most cases it can completely remove tattoos. Tattoo coverups are cheaper, but find an artist that specializes in them. It's best to be certain about your design. Think about it. Dwell on it.

Tattoos can get infected, and should be washed and treated as wounds.

Follow your artists aftercare instructions.

Most tattoos will need touchups through your life. Using sunscreen and moisturising daily will help your tattoo look new for years. After 10-30 years, expect to need touchups to combat blurring.

Line drawings: Most people aren't aware of what line drawings are used for. Line drawings are what the tattoo artist will use to transfer the outlines of the design to your skin. All artwork on TattooFinder.com is sold with line drawings. If you bring a design into a studio without lines, the tattoo artist will add the time it takes to create them into the price of the tattoo. At the end, buying a design on TattooFinder.com can actually save you money on the price of your tattoo.

but i have good reasons for that.
I don't care what other peolpe say. I just care who says. and now YOU are saying, and I don't care you, and you don't care me either.if i was a girl and i liked him , it would not for himself, it was for something else. but now I am a man , he is also a man, i am not a gay, he is not a gay either. So i like him for something else, maybe for his personality. most of girls like beckhem , they don't understand what soccer is, they just know ..........

if you want, i will tell you why i like this man.

Anyone who has every been to Los Angeles has witnessed the way that Iranians have created a name for themselves. This has been accomplished with the aid of signature bleached blond tresses, nose jobs, Benzes, and the fact that we are all engineers and doctors.

All of these attributes are aside from the fact that we have established ourselves as a people cursed with having a nature of being poolakee, which is something we are all a little guilty of from time to time.

I enjoy a good Gucci bag just as much as any other Persian gal, but the trends I have spotted lately are enough to make anyone with even just a little "shakhseeyat" sick to their stomachs. God has officially become a fashion statement in Westwood Village.

The latest fashion "do" in the Iranian community seems to be sported by the young, trend setting crowd that mingles in LA on nights and weekends. These twentysomethings can be seen on any given Friday or Saturday night, walking around or loafing in front coffee shops, sipping cigarettes as fast as they are lit.

"Allah" necklaces seem to be the rage, with most of them diamond-studded and made of platinum. Some of the versions worn by the young men can be seen expanding three inches in every direction, which is something that would even bring Mr. T to tears.

The ironic part of this whole new phenomenon comes from the people seen adorning these jewels. I'm not surprised that they chose to put up the huge bucks to show their piety. In fact, the comedy stems from the fact that there is nothing else representative of being religious outside of wearing this necklace.

There just seems to be a dichotomy of sorts when spotting young men chain smoking and discussing their next sexual conquest with the vulgarity of a sailor, while wearing a holy enscription. Is it just me, or is something terribly wrong with this picture?

Another practice that sent me into shock came as a result of over hearing a conversation between a few Persian girls on campus. One girl was explaining how she wanted to get a tattoo that was "meaningful and representative" of who she was. She had decided on getting "Allah" tattooed on the small of her back, and now all she needed was someone with good writing to give her a design for the tattoo artist to trace off of. I nearly fell of my chair. I wanted to scream, "divooneyee dokhtar?" ("Girl, are you nuts?")

I knew for a fact that this girl had never read a word from the "KHoran", and that she thought Mohammad was the guy who worked the graveyard shift at 7-11. I am not an expert on religion, and I do not claim to be a religious authority in the least, but I do know that something as holy and precious as the word God itself should be guarded, not stamped across someone's ***.

It seems to me that anyone who has studied Islam or has an understanding of the basic concepts of the religion would refrain from putting a tattoo of God's name anywhere. It came as a complete shock to see this dullard whine about wanting an "intelligent" tattoo.

Both of these practices of flossin' and flauntin' religion seem to be as fake as the "Prado Shoes" or the "Kate Splade" bags that some people still try to shamelessly pull off. It seems to be a disgrace to the people who have devoted their lives to a religion that they truly believe has provided hope and meaning to their lives.

I wouldn't be brazen enough in making the claim that these kids are frauds if I hadn't witnessed friendships with people like them and had not witnessed it time and time again as I went out.

Call me crazy, but I think that if we consulted God on this matter, he would want nothing to do with being a fashion statement. I think the job of working miracles and answering prayers is enough to keep His To Do List full for eternity. It's time we look somewhere else for fashion inspiration or signature style.
