I had heard about sloths being very lazy, they are so cute though. Their face is very unique looking. Your mentioning the anteater struck a personal chord, since UCI's mascot is the anteater. I dont think iranians are lazy, look at all they accomplish in the sciences, engineering, politics, bussiness, computers and IT, you name it, there is an iranian behind some important aspect of it. Ma gheshre movafaghi hastim ba inke mohajer hastim, ageh toyeh keshvare khodemoon boodim bayad mididi chikar mikardim Ramin.

wow i love sloths. i wish to be born as a sloth in an south american forest untouched by civilised humans....'tortoise in trees' . some of the intresting things abt slots

Sloths move only when necessary and then very slowly: they have about half as much muscle tissue as other animals of similar weight.

They can move at a marginally higher speed if they are in immediate danger from a predator (15 feet per minute), but they burn large amounts of energy doing so.

Their specialized hands and feet have long, curved claws to allow them to hang upside-down from branches without effort. While they sometimes sit on top of branches, they usually eat, sleep, and even give birth hanging from limbs. They sometimes die and still continue to hang from the trees.

On the ground their maximum speed is 5 feet per minute. They mostly move at 0.5 - 1 foot per minute.

In terms of their sleep, sloths are one of the most somnolent animals ever, sleeping from 15 to 18 hours each day.

They are particularly partial to nesting in the crowns of palm trees where they can camouflage as a coconut. They come to the ground, to urinate and defecate, only about once a week.

                (thanks wikipedia )

                oh i love sloths.

ppl if u think iranians are laziest forget it i think indians are way ahead than iranians.

wow hari, you are so interesting! many would not even think of mentioning thier own nationality as having bad characteristics (we iranians suffer from this, we dont like to think that we are capable of anything bad or any bad traits), but i like how you come and say indians are ahead of iranians when it comes to laziness, hehe

well ist wrong to accept truth? .. "truth hurts" ....but who cares actually?

just look at the medals tally in asian games ..India country of one billion people stands behind Iran, thailand and some of the smaller countries in asia. it tells the story of us ...we love to work with brain instead of body . ....well maybe im wrong...i wish i could be proved im wrong.

Acceptance is a quality that every human should poses....its a great virtue actually.

i like the way you think. I think acceptance is one of the hardest things to acquire. I think indians and iranians are alike in the being brainy part though, i dont know if you watch russel peters but it reminds of the part where raj is supposed to go pick cotton and he says he cant (hehe). using your brain is just as important as using your body. I wonder how smart sloths are, i bet they are really smart and no one knows.

for me smartest thing survive than strongest. i believe these creatures are smartest like anyother one's. i hope someone find and post their smart things...

Slow things are not lazy.... this is a misconception and it is natural too.
Although unable to survive outside the tropical rainforests of South and Central America, within that environment sloths are outstandingly successful creatures: they can account for as much as half the total energy consumption and two-thirds of the total terrestrial mammalian biomass in some areas.
can anyone believe that our home earth revolves speed of about 1040 miles/hr (1670 km/hr or 0.5 km/sec).

                          Hi Everyone,

There is no such thing as laziness. If you look at a "lazy" person's life, you'll see that they were treated improperly. The term is just a word hammered into our heads by "high class" Europeans that connotes their perception of inferiority, but in fact is an expression of one's right to self-determination.

                          Cheers...
