  • Eva Longoria

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria's legs have helped her to the top of a new magazine poll -- ahead of Matthew McConaughey and Paris Hilton.

The sexy actress has been named the owner of Hollywood's Sexiest Legs as part of a new Life & Style magazine list.

The former aerobics instructor is well aware she's got lovely legs--they're her favorite body part.

The top five in the new magazine poll are:

    1. Eva Longoria
    2. Matthew McConaughey
    3. Paris Hilton
    4. Cameron Diaz
    5. Beyonce Knowles

Shortly after her debut on Desperate Housewives, Longoria starred in a poorly received direct-to-video film titled Carlita's Secret, for which she was also co-producer. In 2005, she was rewarded for her performance as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives when she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy along with her co-stars. Even though Longoria or the rest of the cast didn't win, she was awarded the prestigious ALMA AWARD, and named entertainer of the year She also stars opposite Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland in the 2006 thriller The Sentinel, which is her first major role in a theatrical movie (both Douglas and Sutherland noted that much to their surprise, Eva whipped both of them in gun practice). Longoria continues to be included in lists of Hollywood's Most Beautiful, and was listed as #1 in Maxim's Hottest Female Stars of 2005 and 2006, becoming the first woman to top the list in two consecutive years. In her most recently released film, Harsh Times, she plays Sylvia. She co-stars with actors Freddy Rodriguez and Christian Bale.

On her interview with Ryan Seacrest on The Interview with Ryan Seacrest on E! she has stated: "I don't want to be on 7th Heaven -- on for 20 years and no one's really watching and it's hanging on by a thread." She has stated multiple times that she will not renew her Desperate Housewives contract once it is up. She has set her sights on the film industry. At the time of her statements, the length of her contract was not known, but she has since revealed it to be 10 years, starting from the first season.

In May 2006, Maxim Magazine named Longoria number 1 on the hottest women of the year list for 2006, a feat she repeated from the year before.

In 2006, Longoria appeared on Jessica Simpson's music video "A Public Affair" along with Christina Milian, Christina Applegate, Ryan Seacrest, Maria Menounos and Andy Dick.

Also in 2006, Longoria was voted on to PETA's Worst Dressed List for wearing fur.

On December 24, 2005, a car driven by Parker was cited for impeding traffic. Longoria, who was a passenger, allegedly began verbally abusing the officer by yelling: "He's just a Mexican bike cop. He only wants your autograph." She later denied the allegation, saying through her publicist: "I never made any sort of racial slurs, let alone made any comments about the officer being Mexican, as a Mexican myself."

She is a Catholic and jokingly mentioned about how uneasy it made her feel in an episode of Desperate Housewives when her character attacked a nun. She also has mentioned in the past that her grandmother at first disapproved of the fact that her character was having an adulterous affair with a 16 year old.

Desperate photographers frozen out as Longoria weds

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and basketball ace Tony Parker married in a civil wedding ceremony yesterday, but well-wishers and photographers got only a fleeting glimpse of the celebrity couple.

Hundreds of photographers and passersby climbed on to ladders, traffic bollards and parked scooters straining to spot the couple when they arrived to be married by the mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoe, in a Parisian town hall.

The cheering crowd got no more than a quick wave from the diminutive actress as she stepped from white stretch limousine and a brief, rueful smile from Parker while the couple's own photographers followed them into the building.

Boos and catcalls from frustrated cameramen accompanied their departure an hour and a half later when blacked-out limousines whisked away the newlyweds and their entourage.

The marriage of Longoria, one of television's biggest stars after the worldwide success of Desperate Housewives, and Parker, fresh from his third NBA championship, has been billed as the celebrity wedding of the year.

Longoria plays the conniving, adulterous Gabrielle Solis on the hit ABC show, which debuted in 2004.

Outside the town hall on Friday, the crowd, swollen by curious tourists, was eager to see more of Longoria's fuchsia mini dress and Parker's escort of top sportsmen, including French soccer player Thierry Henry.

But old hands among the professional celebrity watchers were put on their guard when two black limousines with shaded windows and German number plates eased into a concealed courtyard behind the town hall before taking away the glamour couple.

To be sealed in a church ceremony today, the marriage has attracted huge interest, but there have been slim pickings for most media due to an exclusive deal with OK! magazine reported to be worth some $2 million.

Fellow cast members from Desperate Housewives, Parker's San Antonio Spurs teammates, Miami Vice star Jamie Foxx, singer Lionel Richie, Hollywood couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones are all expected at the church ceremony and a lavish reception afterwards.

Details have largely been kept secret, but the ceremony today is expected to take place in Saint Germain l'Auxerrois, a former royal church opposite the Louvre.

Longoria and Parker mum on French wedding

Eva Longoria, the "desperate housewife," marries her French beau, NBA champion Tony Parker, today. But for two people who live in the sights of the paparazzi's zoom lenses, the handsome couple have done a remarkable job of keeping the details of their nuptials under wraps.

Publicly, they have said only that they will marry in France on July 7 -- a supposedly lucky date chosen by superstitious Parker. He also dispelled rumours that they were flying in their cake from the United States but has refused to say much more than that, telling reporters that wedding organization is "a girls' thing."

Their entourage isn't talking either. Their publicists insist the wedding is strictly private -- although Parker and Longoria reportedly sold the exclusive photo rights to OK! magazine for a six-digit dollar figure.

It will be "a big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends" is all that Longoria's spokesperson, Liza Anderson, would say in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

But a French official confirmed Thursday that the couple have chosen Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th century chateau 55 kilometres southeast of Paris, as the venue for their wedding festivities.

"It's definitely happening there on Saturday," Lionel Walker, the regional head of tourism, said. It is "the best free publicity we could ask for."

The sun smiled on Tony Parker and Eva Longoria's wedding day, breaking through after days of gray Paris skies. Their VIP guests, though, were concealed by big black umbrellas.

Glamour and security went hand-in-hand as the NBA champion and star of "Desperate Housewives" exchanged vows Saturday in a church across from the Louvre Museum.

The Roman Catholic ceremony at the Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois Church -- frequented by French royalty in centuries past -- was stage two in a weekend wedding extravaganza.

First, the mayor of Paris pronounced Parker and Longoria husband and wife in a civil ceremony Friday. Then a priest married them Saturday afternoon. Next up: an exclusive bash at a storied French chateau.

Stars of all stripes -- actors, athletes, musicians -- joined the couple for their nuptials.

Longoria's fellow "Housewives" garnered the most attention from several hundred mostly French fans outside the church, who booed bodyguards for blocking their view.

Teri Hatcher, in a silky blue gown, came with her 9-year-old daughter Emerson Rose. Felicity Huffman, in a beige dress with ruffled v-neck collar, brought husband William H. Macy. Nicolette Sheridan wore a strapless pink gown.

Marcia Cross, who stars in the series as Bree and recently gave birth to twins, was not expected to attend.

Sheryl Crow and the head coach for the San Antonio Spurs, Greg Popovich, were among guests who didn't stay concealed behind the huge black umbrellas bodyguards used to shield them from public view.

Police also erected 10-foot-high wooden panels in front of the church, and the bride and groom kept well out of sight.

After the guests and wedding party left in red buses and a black Rolls Royce, fans stormed the church, grabbing up the white lilies spread out across the large medieval hall.

The Rev. Dominique Schubert told The Associated Press that he formally married the 25-year-old Parker and 32-year-old Longoria in a full Catholic wedding ceremony. He gave no details.

For the civil ceremony, Parker, who was born in Belgium and grew up in France, asked Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe to officiate. Parker's friends translated when Delanoe gave a speech calling the basketball star a model in the fight against racism.

"I married a friend to the woman he loves. It was touching, moving, very warm and at the same time very relaxed," Delanoe said on RTL radio Saturday.

And romantic, he added: "They kiss all the time."

He praised Longoria's choice of dresses and designer -- she wore a pink Chanel mini dress on her way into the town hall, but changed into a white dress in the district mayor's office. French law requires a civil ceremony even when couples marry in a church.

Saturday started gray but the skies cleared by the time the wedding guests arrived at the church. Fans stood through drizzle and shine.

"I love the series and I came out today for the chance to see Eva, the 'American in Paris,"' said Lola Michot, a 16-year-old high school student from the eastern French city of Besancon. She waited outside the church for hours for a glimpse.

Heather Biehl, a 34-year-old English teacher from San Francisco now living in the southern French city of Aix-en-Provence, came across the hubbub with her mother and very excited 8-year-old daughter.

"The atmosphere was crazy out here. I thought maybe it was (French President) Nicolas Sarkozy," she said.

The couple and their entourage have given very few details about the wedding, but media reports said they were to follow the religious service with a bash at Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th century chateau 35 miles southeast of Paris.
