Most likely the guy is follower of Hanbali school. This is the verse that he was taking about

He has problem in explaining " Idhribuhunne".

The root of this word is Dharaba. "Dharaba" is the number one multi-meaning word in Arabic.

It has many meanings such as to strike,to beat, to take away, to condemn,to cover, to set up, to give, to explain, ... . (and many more).

For example; when I say "Idhrib" it means "Get out".

We have to find the proper meaning and choose one word out of those.

In this verse, I see the word "Nushuzahon'', it can be translated as degrees of disloyalty ranging from flirtation to sexual liaison. It shows the importance of loyalty in marriage life.

So first we give them advice, if it didn't work and they commit a proven adultery, then we have every right to strike them out of the house.

So the translation at the end of this verse would be:

you shall first advice them .......
you may strike them out "of the house", and If they obey you then don't transgress against them. Allah (swt) is the most High, Supreme.

Even in this case, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says the hardest thing that we can use is a Miswak (toothbrush) to strike those women out of the house (Valid reasons such as cheating, ...)

i want to know what you think about this since you consider yourself a shia fundamentalist
We are all fundamentalists. However we are all different fundamentalists. Why do you think we humans love to be on the right side, or good side or the prevailing side? Because we all love immortality, salvation and perfection, power and beauty, survival, etc.

Well, I hope you got your answer from a Muslim Shia Iranian fundamentalist.

nice point...i accept it, but in no other religion other than Islam has given right to men to punish their wife physically and say women were created from crooked rib.

In Hinduism Women are called "Shakthi" means power. The powerful god Shiva has given his half for his wife shakthi... literally meaning men and women are equal.

thanks for the answer but see if you start to use interpretations and etc you are no longer a fundamentalist. The reason i press you so much on this funedmantilist stuff is becuase, i, believe it or not, believe in fundamentalism's, i mean if you are going to do something you might as well do it 100 percent if it is the good thing to do. That is why i have a borderline admiration for fundamentalism because it would mean it is pure and perfect and that it could withstand alot.

but at the same time in judaism wommen are considered to be more holly than men, and that they are more perfect. Also regarding crooked rib

In all Mono-God religions holy books say that eva was created from adams rib bone!

so you are denying that hindus hit their wifes?

and other thing! that vers you refere to says nothing about beating your wife!

again in all mono-god religion man are head of family! and as their women have to listen to them so does they have to listen to their wifes!

a woman is a back bone of a family without that a family wouldnt work.

in Islam we say that paradise is under mothers feet! it means that a gate to paradise goes through your mother, your wife and your sister (women). so women are a important part of religion! they are so important that women like mary, khadija, sara and fatima are 4 holy women!

so dont say that islam or anyother religion says something!

again it is just a cultural more social handicap!

hAnd G-d caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his sides, and closed up the flesh in its place. And G-d built the side which He had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man. And the man said: "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother, and cleaves to his wife; and they become one flesh."
                      this is from genesis

this is regarding the creation of woman

well where did judaism came here. Hinduism is different from judaism, Once judaism was practicsed/ruled whole India, one of the reason why judaism vanished is the their attitude/view towards females, they saw women as sin, source of all sin and they treated women in worse manner.

Hindu's too hurt their wife physically i never denied that. It's a social problem, unforutunately(fortunately ) women are weaker sex, oppressing weaker section is human nature.

If there is smoke there is fire, y only Islam caught in these type of controversy?

So whoever speaks about an ideology is really representing the correct version of that ideology ? If this is the case, why do Shias and many sunnis condemn wahhabis and don't even consider them as muslims ?

That guy in the video makes a mistake, that Hadith doesn't say woman is created from rib. It says women is like a rib, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) advised that a person should not enforce his will upon his woman (wife). Using force may break a woman rather than straighten her (as it would a rib). (Sahih Bukhari Volume 4)

Equal ? in case of what ? Spirituality or physically?

Law of Manu says women are subordinated to men-first to their father, then to their husband and finally to their sons, she should never enjoy independence.

Not necessarily true if I am speaking to another Shia fundamentalist, because we ultimately believe in the samethings, therefore there is no "Shak" (doubt), it is all about "Yaqin" (certainty)
