The first nuclear-energy video game is due to be released on the Iranian market July 16.

The game, designed by Iranian students, lets players attempt to penetrate various countries to free two Iranian nuclear experts kidnapped by U.S. forces in Iraq and transferred to a secret location.

In order to carry out the mission, players must use Iranian special security and intelligence forces.

At a later stage, the player can free other prisoners being held in Iraq.

Game is in response to a popular U.S. computer game about a special forces mission to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities.

While this announcement may just be an attempt at propaganda, a Reuters story via CNet News.com reports that Iran is prepping their own computer game featuring a character called "Commander Bahman".

The game, which was first reported by Iran's own Fars news agency, is being designed by students and will have its main character rescuing an Iranian nuclear scientist from US forces in Iraq. The story states that the game will be released by March 2007.

بازیهای جنگی رایانه ای به موضوعی بحث برانگیز در مباحث سیاسی بدل شده اند
نخستین بازی رایانه ای ایران که به موضوع انرژی هسته ای می پردازد، هفته آینده در تهران معرفی خواهد شد.
به گزارش ایرنا، خبرگزاری دولتی ایران، این بازی که توسط اتحادیه انجمن های اسلامی دانش آموزان تهیه شده، در هشت مرحله طراحی شده است و شخصیت های اصلی آن که یک زن و شوهر هستند وارد چندین کشور مختلف می شوند.

این دو شخصیت که دکتر سعید کوشا و مریم معرفی شده اند، هر دو متخصص انرژی هسته ای ایران هستند و در سفر به کربلا به اسارت نیروهای آمریکایی در می آیند.

در مراحل مختلف این بازی، فرمانده نیروهای ویژه اطلاعاتی و امنیتی ایران باید تلاش کند تا سعید و مریم را از زندان نجات دهد.

به گزارش ایرنا، قرار شده است تا این بازی رایانه ای با قیمتی پایین تر نسبت به محصولات مشابه، در اختیار دانش آموزان قرار گیرد. اما برخی از فروشندگان و علاقمندان بازیهای رایانه ای در تهران معتقدند که عرضه بازیهای رایانه ای ایرانی علاقمندان چندانی را جذب نمی کند.

سهیل محمدی، مدیر یک شرکت تولید و پخش بازیهای رایانه ای در تهران می گوید در حال حاضر بازیهای حادثه ای و جنگی آمریکایی و غربی نظیر "هالو"، "Tomb Raider"(مهاجمان مقبره) و "هری پاتر" بین نوجوانان، جوانان و علاقمندان این بازیها طرفدار دارد و تا کنون هیچ بازی ایرانی موفق نشده در بازار بازیهای رایانه ای موفقیت قابل توجهی به دست بیاورد زیرا از نظر تکنیک و محتوا بسیار ضعیف بوده است.



از معدود بازیهای رایانه ای ایرانی که تاکنون عرضه شده است، استقبالی به عمل نیامده است

این مدیر شرکت بازیهای رایانه ای می گوید در مواردی که بازیهای ویدئویی در ایران دوبله شده یا بخش هایی به آنها اضافه می شود، به دلیل حذف هایی که در آنها صورت می گیرد این نوع بازیها نیز طرفدارانی ندارد و مشتریان ترجیح می دهند نسخه های اصلی این بازیها را تهیه کنند.

پیش از این نیز، نهادی به نام "انجمن هنرهای تجسمی انقلاب و دفاع مقدس" در ایران بازی تحت عنوان "ضدحمله" طراحی کرده بود که خبر دیگری از عرضه آن منتشر نشد.

بازی های جنگی

در سال 2005، شرکت "کوما ریالتی گیمز"، بازی تحت عنوان "حمله به ایران" را بر روی سایت اینترنتی خود در اختیار علاقمندان به بازیهای ویدئویی قرار داد که با واکنش برخی رسانه های ایران روبرو شد.

واکنش رسانه های ایران و خبر عرضه این بازی در برخی از رسانه های آمریکایی، سبب شد تا مدیران شرکت تولید کننده هر گونه قصد و نیت سیاسی را تکذیب کنند، کيت هالپر، مدير شرکت کوما ريالتی گيمز در آن زمان به بخش فارسی بی بی سی گفت: "ما تلاش می کنيم که به عنوان يک رسانه تصويری همزمان با اخبار پيش برويم. وقتی مخاطب اخباری را در تلويزيون يا روزنامه ها می بيند اين يک فرصت استثنايی برای ما است که ما هم توجه وی را به يک بازی درباره همان موضوع جلب کنيم."



در سالهای قبل نیز بازیهای رایانه ای به حمله به ایران اختصاص یافته و ایران نیز بخشی از بازی ضد حمله را عرضه کرده بود



این بازی درست در زمانی عرضه شده بود که برخی رسانه های آمریکایی از احتمال حمله نظامی آمریکا علیه ایران سخن به میان می آوردند و روزنامه کیهان، در پاسخ نوشته بود: "آمريکايی ها خيلی دلشان می خواهد به ايران حمله کنند؛ اما بايد دلشان را به چنين بازی هايی خوش کنند."

در "حمله به ايران"، سربازان آمريکايی وظيفه دارند ضمن حمله به تاسيسات هسته ای نطنز، دانشمندان ايرانی را از بين ببرند و يک دانشمند زندانی را آزاد کنند.

اکنون، دوسال پس از عرضه این بازی، یک نهاد وابسته به حکومت در ایران، بازی مشابهی البته با "هدفی متضاد" طراحی کرده و درصدد عرضه آن به بازار است.

این بازی رایانه ای قرار است 25 تیرماه با حضور جمعی از مسئولان و دانش آموزان در تهران معرفی شود.

Iran battles US, Israel... in computer game

TEHRAN (AFP) - Iran on Monday launched a computer game with a strong political message that mixes the standoff over its nuclear programme, the mystery of missing diplomats in Lebanon and its hatred of Israel.



Players of the game "Special Operation 85: Hostage Rescue" play the part of a special agent battling to release captured Iranian diplomats and nuclear scientists from the clutches of his US and Israeli foes.

The game has been produced by the Union of the Islamic Students, which was behind the infamous "World Without Zionism" conference in 2005 where President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be "wiped from the map".

"In this game we are not promoting terrorism and violence. By freeing Iranian hostages we are promoting selflessness, devotion and defence of our country," said the group's secretary general Mohammad Taghi Fakhrian.

The eight-level game starts in Iraq, where a young married couple who are Iranian nuclear scientists have been captured by US forces while making a pilgrimage to the Shiite holy shrine in Karbala.

Enter Iranian special operations officer Bahman Nasseri, whose mission it is to save the couple, named Saeed and Maryam, who have now been spirited away to a prison in Iran's arch-foe Israel.

He slips into Israel and locates their prison.

In a twist, here he finds locked away not only the young scientists but also four other Iranians who in real life have been missing since disappearing in northern Lebanon at the height of the civil war in 1982.

There has never been any official confirmation over the fate of three Iranian diplomats and one photographer. But Tehran believes they were handed over to Israel by Lebanese Christian forces and are still alive.

A successful player completes the eight levels by killing US and Israeli soldiers, stealing their laptops which hold secret information and finally liberating the scientists and the diplomats.

A player operates the Iranian-made AK-47 machine gun of special agent Nasseri, making sure it has enough ammunition and then shooting down enemy soldiers who suddenly pop up in the three-dimensional graphics.

The enemy then falls to the ground and Fakhrian then continues his relentless pursuit of his quarry to the sound of pounding electronic music.

Anyone who loses their "life" in the game is spurred on to try again with the words: "With resistance and help you can battle the enemy." An Iranian flag flutters in the top right hand corner throughout.

Fakhrian said that the computer game had been inspired by Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"The computer games are cultural mediums that have their own positive and negative effects on young people. In our last meeting with the leader he told us to come up with ways to guide our children and students.

"So we went and thought about it and found out that it is computer games which have the most influence on the young people."
