How do Iranians feel about democracy these days?

I am 38 years old with a wife and two children, a son 12, and a daughter 10. My sphere of influence is limited, but I do vote and communicate with my elected representatives. I have come here to learn more about the people of Iran. I can only read English so you know what to do if you don't want me to see something. It seems that Iran will be a hot topic in the USA now. I would like to form my opinion based on first hand information. There is no such thing as unbiased media.

Well Duh! Ofcourse just like anyother nation most iranians want democracy! but I agree with hessan! We don't nedd US the interfer with our nation's matters!

I have read that the representative assembly in Iran is demanding better relations with the rest of the world, including the United States. If Iran asks for a relationship with the US, would that still be "interfering"?

I really do thank you very much for visiting tapesh.com, guys keep in mind that anyone is welcome in this site, and please dont' disrespect other, the person who asked this question didn't mean to be rude in anyway it was just a question and it will allow him to understand more about this topic as he mentioned above. you asked to question, each and every human in this world must have freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of practice an religion. I think that everyone deserves these rights as a human being and its not just iran, freedom is freedom no matter where it is. and to answer your second question. people of iran have no problem with the U.S. infact 26 years a go, the relations were just fine with the U.S. so I see no problem with a friendly relationship between iran and the U.S. but keep in mind one thing, people of iran are not like other countries in the middle east, we don't let anyone and I mean anyone to invade our country and take away our natural resources. again I do thank you for visiting this site and we would love to hear more from you.

y do u ppl think iranians need democracy, democracy goes with capitalism and that will take all of our roots away all of our culture with it,

do not look at usa and canada being so democratic their countries do not have much history and this would be the only way to go for them, after all the wars in europe and things in earlly 1900's countries like usa and canada and france would be come like this but our country's problem is not what kinda government they want, the ppl do not want to be pushed to accept something... they r just refusing dictaitership that's all
