Witnesses swear they spotted the newly single Carmen Electra hanging out with Jamie Foxx at the Hollywood club Element last Saturday – but Electra says that's just not true.

In fact, Electra, who recently separated from husband Dave Navarro, says she was home watching TV – with Navarro – PEOPLE reports in its new issue.

Of the Foxx rumor, Electra tells PEOPLE, "Dave thinks it's funny, but I'm upset because there's not one ounce of truth (to it)."

Though officially split, Electra and Navarro still live together for now and are still "so connected," says a source close to Electra. "There's a positive way of remaining friends."

For his part, Navarro "isn't moping around or depressed," says a source.

Indeed, at the July 23 taping of Rock Star: Supernova, he wore his wedding ring, but still gazed at cohost Brooke Burke and exclaimed, "Damn, she's hot."

NASCAR driver Kurt Busch wed Eva Bryan Thursday evening at a private estate in Eastville, Va., PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The couple exchanged traditional vows before 250 guests on the front porch of Point Farm, an estate owned by longtime Bryan family friend Dan Hoffler. NASCAR's motor racing outreach chaplain Dale Beaver presided.

The bride arrived in a white, horse-drawn Cinderella carriage and was walked down the aisle by her father, Gary Bryan, as an eight-piece ensemble played the wedding march.

After the ceremony, guests were to have cocktails inside the Hoffler mansion before heading to the reception, held in a tent overlooking Virginia's Eastern Shore.

The party's theme, "glow," was to be reflected in the chandeliers and candles lining the tent. Wedding planner Janet Bell tells PEOPLE she worked closely with Bryan to create a "very warm, old-world-type romantic effect, with clean, modern touches."

Busch, who turns 28 on Aug. 4, and Bryan, 29, have been together for exactly three years. They met on July 27, 2003, when Jeremy Brickhouse, a member of Busch's racing team (and high school friend of Bryan), fixed them up.

"Jeremy told me Kurt was a veterinarian," says Bryan, a former customer service rep at First Virginia Bank who now serves as vice president of Busch's racing company. "But we met right after a race at a sports bar in Charlotte, and since Kurt had finished second, his face was all over the televisions in the bar. So the whole veterinarian thing lasted for about two minutes."

The couple began dating, and moved in together in early 2004.

According to Busch, he was immediately impressed by how Bryan took his occupation and fame in stride: "She didn't seem phased that I was a racecar driver and not a veterinarian. That was attractive, because people do have a lot of stereotypes about drivers."

The couple got engaged on July 27, 2005, while on vacation in Prague. Their wedding date, precisely one year later, is no accident. "Kurt is very superstitious," says Bryan. It also happened to be an off-weekend for NASCAR.

Will Ferrell and his wife, Viveca Paulin, are expecting their second child, the actor announced Thursday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

"My wife is pregnant again," Ferrell told Leno.

Asked by Leno if he is indeed the baby's father, Ferrell joked, "I'm not the father. Chuck Norris is the dad."

Ferrell, 39, and Paulin, 37, wed in 2000. They have a 2-year-old son, Magnus.

When Paulin, an art auctioneer, was pregnant with their first child, Ferrell said he kept her entertained by leaving comedic voicemails at their Hollywood Hills home. "I left her this message: 'You think you're so hot walking around all pregnant and saying, Look at me!' " Ferrell told PEOPLE in 2003. "And she loved it, because she so doesn't feel that way."

Ferrell's new comedy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, opens Aug 4.

American Idol winner Taylor Hicks and his fellow finalists, including runner-up Katherine McPhee, visited the White House Friday – but President Bush provided the entertainment.

"We gave him some presents," Idol's Ace Young tells PEOPLE. "On behalf of Taylor winning, we gave him a harmonica that said American Idol on it that he attempted to play. He didn't sound bad! And Taylor gave him a Soul Patrol T-shirt and he said it'll be his new jogging shirt. And I gave him an Ace beanie. He said it's a little too hot for the beanie, but he'll save it for winter."

The President, who posed for photos with the Idols and gave them a tour of the Oval Office, asked them how long it had been since they'd seen their families and told them, "This is the highlight of my day."

"Before we walked in," Young says, "everyone was asking who voted for him. … A majority (of us) didn't. But when we walked out, every single person said, 'Wow, what a great guy!' It felt like we were just hanging out with him."

Elliott Yamin missed the first part of the visit with the President. About five minutes after it started, he was seen racing down the hall toward the Oval Office, wiping his brow and saying, "Phew!"

"He was sleeping!" Young explains, adding that the Idols – who have been on the "American Idols Live" tour since July 6 – arrived in Washington, D.C., at 5:30 a.m., and that some of them have been having a hard time sleeping on the bus that takes them from city to city.

Before meeting the President, the Idols, accompanied by finalist Paris Bennett's mother, Jamecia, were given a tour of the White House by the First Lady's press secretary, Susan Whitson – Hicks's onetime 9th-grade English teacher.

A favorite stop? The library, where the Idols took books off the shelves looking for a secret passageway – to no avail. "We lost Kellie (Pickler) for a little while," says Young, laughing. "We thought she'd found something! When we were up in the Oval Office, Kellie told President Bush we'd been looking for secret passageways. In a joking manner, he said, 'Yeah … don't.' "

The visit came just hours before the Idols hit the stage at D.C.'s Verizon Center – the first time McPhee performed with them on tour since recovering from bronchitis and laryngitis. "She hasn't shown any nerves," says Young. "She'll get right back into it."

Mel Gibson was arrested for a driving under the influence early Friday morning in Malibu, according to the booking report.

Gibson, 50, was pulled over on the Pacific Coast Highway, sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore tells CNN. Officers on patrol said Gibson was driving at an "excessively fast speed," according to Whitmore.

"The investigation is ongoing," Whitmore told the Associated Press. "As we would do with anyone, we don't want to release any more since the information is fragmentary."

Gibson was stopped at 2:36 a.m., charged with a misdemeanor and posted $5,000 bond, according to booking papers.

Gibson's rep, Alan Nierob, said he was looking into the matter.

Gibson, who has admitted to past problems with alcohol, ran a red light and collided with another car in 1984 while driving drunk. In 1991, he joined Alcoholics Anonymous.

Gibson's 1995 film, Braveheart, which he directed and starred in, won Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director. His newest film, Apocalypto, set in the Mayan civilization of several centuries ago, is due out in December.

Paul McCartney has finally filed for divorce from his estranged wife Heather Mills McCartney, according to British news reports. The former Beatle is allegedly citing unreasonable behavior, but his wife of four years is vowing to fight the case vigorously in both Britain and America.

"Heather's going to be filing her own counterclaims about matters both in this country and America," her U.K. rep tells PEOPLE. Because there is no pre-nuptial agreement, at stake is a share of the 64-year-old musician's fortune – estimated to top $1.5 billion – along with the custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Beatrice.

A McCartney insider told the Daily Mirror that the couple split last May because of Mills' "unreasonable behavior," which included being "rude to the staff" and "argumentative".

The rep for Mills, 38, refuses to comment on claims about her conduct. "Any view she has on her divorce will be handled discreetly. She does not feel the need to repudiate claims that she may be headstrong or feisty," he tells PEOPLE.

He adds: "We have no way of knowing if he filed for divorce."

A rep for McCartney declines to comment on either grounds for divorce or if in fact papers have been filed in London, but friends of McCartney say he simply wants a "clean break". He was photographed in his hometown of Liverpool on July 28 and, significantly, was not wearing his wedding ring.

In Britain, once documents are filed, the quickest a marriage can be dissolved is six weeks. However, with his wife's insistence on counterclaiming, it is going to be a long and winding road to a financial settlement – then divorce.

"It's a battlefield and it has become mind-boggling, not just because of Paul's fame but because of the constant stream of stories," says a long-term friend of the musician. "But now with Heather announcing she is prepared to fight, things are just going to get uglier."

Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock had a wedding ceremony Saturday on a yacht in Saint-Tropez, PEOPLE has confirmed.

"She was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen – like a modern-day Brigitte Bardot," Jimmy Choo owner Tamara Mellon tells PEOPLE about Anderson, who wore a white string bikini to her nuptials. "Kid Rock was a total rock star. He gave her a good kiss. Everybody was crying." Adds Elton John's husband David Furnish: "It was a real rock n' roll wedding."

This is the second union for Anderson and the first for Rock (real name: Robert Ritchie) – and, apparently, there are more to come. "I'm going to get married a few times this month to the same guy," Anderson, 39, said July 26 during a news conference in Las Vegas. "We had to do Malibu, we've got to do Detroit, and we've got to do Nashville."

Anderson and Rock, 35, began dating in spring 2001. They became engaged on April 11, 2002, in the Las Vegas desert, but split the following year. Still, when they ran into each other early this month in Saint-Tropez on a mutual friend's yacht, the feelings were still there.
It was like we'd never been apart," Rock told PEOPLE on July 11. "(I) love her to death." Anderson announced their engagement on her Web site on July 18.

So why the whirlwind nuptials? "It's just timing," Anderson told PEOPLE on Wednesday. "It's being in love, obviously, and it's time for me to move on with my life and get on with the rest of it with my kids."

The British Columbia-born Anderson has two sons, Brandon, 10, and Dylan, 8, with ex-husband Tommy Lee, to whom she was married from 1995 until 1998. Her kids were with her when she ran into Rock earlier this month. "It was so nice to see them," Rock told PEOPLE.

At their Saint-Tropez wedding, the bride planned to wear custom Jimmy Choo heels, according to a source.

Detroit-born Rock has a 16-year-old son, Robert James Ritchie Jr., whose mother is Kelly South Russell, a Detroit auto worker.

Mel Gibson released a contrite statement through his publicist Saturday regarding his DUI arrest in Malibu early Friday morning.

“After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed," the statement read. "(After) I was stopped by the L.A. County Sheriffs ... I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said, and I apologize to anyone who I have offended."

Gibson, 50, added in the statement, "I have battled the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse."

Hollywood gossip website TMZ.com posted four pages of what it alleges is a copy of the police report, which details the Oscar winner screaming profanities and anti-Semitic slurs at authorities after being pulled over for speeding on the Pacific Coast Highway on Friday.

Weekend-duty sheriff's spokesman Sgt. John Hocking would not confirm that the police report posted on TMZ was legitimate. He also had no comment on allegations by the Web site of a cover-up, since on Friday sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said that Gibson was "arrested without incident."

"Our investigation has not gotten that far, but we're trying to put out the facts regarding the case. It's still being determined what actually occurred," Hocking tells PEOPLE.

Lindsay Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan, says "there is only so much a child can take" in response to a studio executive's charge that the 19-year-old star was "irresponsible and unprofessional" when she didn't show up for work on her movie Georgia Rule.

In a letter delivered to Lindsay on Thursday, James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, scolded her for calling in sick on Wednesday to the set. "We are well aware that your ongoing all-night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called 'exhaustion,' " he wrote.

"My daughter is a wonderful child," Dina Lohan tells PEOPLE, saying of the attention paid to what has transpired between Lindsay and Robinson: "This is too much."

As it is, Lindsay – who was briefly hospitalized early Wednesday morning for being "overheated and dehydrated," according to her rep – has returned to work and made Robinson happy, he tells trade publication the Hollywood Reporter.

Yet as the dust was still settling, Dina Lohan fumed about Robinson in an interview set to air Monday on TV's Access Hollywood: "Maybe he has personal issues with whomever, and it came out with my child. I don't know him. I can't judge him. I don't think it was a smart thing to do to a young girl," Dina tells the show.

Speaking to PEOPLE about her remarks to Access, Dina Lohan says, "It's so ridiculous, that I'm over it. … Basically, I have no comment about the letter."

Describing the circumstances that she said led up to the incident, "On the set it was 105 degrees," she tells PEOPLE. "And she has bronchial asthma – so any extreme heat or cold, she can't breathe."

On top of which, says her mom, Lindsay "was wearing winter clothes and she was telling people, 'I need water, I need water.' And they just want to get the shot, want to get the shot."

The elder Lohan said Lindsay was physically affected "after she had left (the set) and went home."

Speaking to Access, Dina said, "I'm a mother and will do what I need to do to protect my child. … She's a human being. There was one day when she was late, and they (director Garry Marshall and costar Jane Fonda) worked the schedule around her. Garry, Jane, everybody loves her."

And now, apparently, so does Robinson. "I've never had a minute's trouble with her. She's every inch a lady," the film executive told the Hollywood Reporter on Friday. "I felt I needed to remind her of her obligations to show up."

Robinson informed the Reporter that Lohan returned to work on Thursday without incident. As for why he took the step of writing the letter – which then became public after its posting on the Smoking Gun Web site – Robinson said: "I'm just trying to get the movie made. I did what I felt I needed to do on behalf of the movie and on behalf of her, too. I wanted to set some limits."

Besides, according to Robinson, "It was not a nasty letter. It was, 'Come on be a professional.' We're halfway through with six weeks to go. There's no turning back. I wrote the letter; it was from me, not some damn attorney. She showed up. That's all I cared about."

Going Robinson one better, Dina Lohan told Access of her daughter's work in Georgia Rule: "She will win an Academy Award for this picture. ... Justice!"

Mel Gibson has sought treatment for alcoholism, his rep, Alan Nierob, tells PEOPLE.

"He definitely entered a program," said Nierob, who wouldn't identify or describe the program or say how long Gibson planned to be there.

Gibson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Malibu early Friday morning.

On Saturday, he issued a statement apologizing for his behavior after the arrest.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department turned its case over to the district attorney Monday. The DA's office is now reviewing the information to determine whether to press charges.

Controversy erupted this weekend over allegations that the Sheriff's Department sanitized an arrest report containing anti-Semitic and sexist remarks that Gibson allegedly made while in custody.

DA spokesperson Jane Robison tells PEOPLE, "We believe we received a complete report, but can't comment on the details of it." An arraignment is set for Sept. 28.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Disney said Monday that the studio plans to release Gibson's latest film, Apocalypto, as scheduled on Dec. 8.

Paris Hilton is back together with her ex-boyfriend, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos – at least for now.

"We're together now here. We love each other," Hilton, who, like Niarchos, is in Saint-Tropez, told PEOPLE on Monday at Diddy's Unforgettable 50 party aboard a rented yacht.

While talking to PEOPLE, Hilton paused for a moment to call Niarchos on her PDA. "Stav, where are you, baby?" she said. "Come on over. I love you."

Seconded Hilton's friend, Carolina D'Amore, "They love each other very much."

On Saturday night, Hilton was seen partying with Niarchos at the VIP Room nightclub, where she treated him to a pole dance. The following night they kissed at the nearby club Les Caves du Roy.

Hilton, 25, and Stavros, 21, split in May after seven months of dating.
Niarchos was previously involved with Mary-Kate Olsen. After his split from Hilton, he was spotted partying with Lindsay Lohan.

Hilton was previously engaged to Paris Latsis, also a Greek shipping heir.

Elizabeth Hurley says she plans to marry her boyfriend of three years, Indian businessman Arun Nayar, in the near future.

"I can't reveal the date, but it's very close," Hurley, 41, tells the Italian edition of Vanity Fair. "And we are also thinking of having a child."

Last May, Hurley told PEOPLE that she and Nayar "absolutely" would like to have a child together.

Hurley, who models for Jordache and starred in such movies as 1999's Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and 2000's Bedazzled, previously dated Hugh Grant from 1987 to 2000.

In 2002 she had a son, Damian Charles, now 4, with film producer Steve Bing.

"I can't boast about being a single mother because it is a choice I would never have made spontaneously: I'm not that type of woman," Hurley tells Italian Vanity Fair.

"I found myself in this situation, to my surprise and despite myself, and I tried to face the situation," she continues. "But it was hard. ... In any case, I wouldn't change a single thing of what happened. My life with Damian has been splendid. He is the perfect child."

Asked by the magazine how it will feel to be married for the first time at 41, Hurley says, "I'll tell you once I'm married. But I lived with Hugh Grant for 13 years; we were like husband and wife. I don't think there is a big difference."

Hurley met Nayar shortly after her son was born. The couple made one of their first public outings in April 2003 at a charity ball at New York City, where an observer told PEOPLE, "(Arun) was happy and smiling. It was obvious that they were very much together."

The couple, along with Damian, often spend time at the actress's English countryside farm, which they share with 120 pedigreed cows and a flock of sheep.

"I'll take Damian out on the tractor while Elizabeth cooks," Nayar told PEOPLE last May of their life out of the spotlight. "It's a bit like the Waltons."

Hurley added at the time, "I love my life. I couldn't be happier."

While his ex-wife Pamela Anderson honeymoons with Kid Rock – the pair tied the knot in Saint-Tropez last weekend – rocker Tommy Lee is dishing on parenting to TV's Extra.

Saying that he and Anderson, who were married from 1995 to 1998, share the responsibilities of raising of their sons Brandon, 10, and Dylan, 8, Lee tells Extra, "I think I am (the stricter parent)."

Anderson "kind of lets them get away with murder," Lee says, adding, "I think it's a combined effort, (but) they are very spoiled.”

As for his hard-partying reputation, he says, "You have kids and you realize you can't be that guy 24/7. You can be that guy when it's time and you have to be a dad when it's time."

Former American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin helped one special fan's dream come true over the weekend.

The singer, who was the third runner-up in the most recent season, spent time backstage in Richmond, Va. during the "American Idols Live" tour with Amanda Jones, a die-hard fan who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Jones, 19, from Jonesboro, Ark., tells PEOPLE that when she received her diagnosis just two weeks ago, she had two questions for her doctors: 1. Is the disease curable? 2. Could she go to Richmond, Va., to see the "American Idols Live" tour?

"I had to see my Idol in his hometown," says Jones, referring to Yamin, a Richmond native.

Not only did she make it to Richmond on Saturday night, but thanks to a connection through a Yamin fan forum, she snagged a backstage pass from a friend of Yamin's who'd heard about Jones's leukemia diagnosis.

"He is, by far, one of the sweetest people I ever met," says Jones. "He was rubbing my back and told me not to worry and that everything would be okay."

Jones is such a big fan of Yamin's that, in May, she camped out at Graceland in Memphis to catch a glimpse of him when the top Idol contenders visited Elvis's former home.

Now, she says, "He's my hero. He went through so much in his childhood, struggled through so much, and in the end, he came out on top. That's what I pray and hope I can do."

Yamin, 28, suffers from Type 1 diabetes and is 90 percent deaf in his right ear. After a series of childhood ear infections and ear-drum replacement surgery at 13, "it just hasn't worked right," he told PEOPLE in March. As for being able to sing in spite of that, "I don't know how to explain it, because I'm not a religious person. It's a gift."

Backstage, Yamin signed Jones's program, writing: "Amanda, thank you for all your support. I thank you for driving a long way to see us. God bless you, sweetheart." In return, Jones gave him a card and a LiveStrong bracelet.

As she turned to leave, Yamin hugged her one more time. "That just boosted me up," Jones tells PEOPLE. "I forgot I was the kid with leukemia."

Film-maker Mel Gibson has admitted making anti-Semitic remarks during his drink-driving arrest - but has said they do not reflect his true feelings.
"There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of anti-Semitic remark," he said in a statement.

"Please know from my heart I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith."

The 50-year-old issued an apology to "everyone in the Jewish community".

He also asked to meet Jewish leaders in order to have "a one-on-one discussion to discern the appropriate path for healing".

The Oscar-winning director was stopped early on Friday after driving at 87mph in a 45mph zone in Malibu, California.

I am in the process of understanding where those vicious words came from during that drunken display

Mel Gibson

Read the full statement

During his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, he made what he has described as "vitriolic and harmful" statements to officer James Mee.

"I am in the process of understanding where those vicious words came from during that drunken display," he said.

He conceded that he had offended the Jewish community and asked them to help him on his "journey through recovery".

"I am a public person, and when I say something... my words carry weight in the public arena," he said.

"I must assume personal responsibility for my words and apologise directly to those who have been hurt and offended."

Widespread criticism

Mr Gibson repeated an earlier statement given by his publicist Alan Nierob saying he had begun "an ongoing programme of recovery".

"What I am now realising is that I cannot do it alone."

Reports of his anti-Semitic remarks have provoked widespread criticism and a Holocaust mini-series his production company Icon was developing with the ABC TV network has been cancelled.

But an ABC spokesman declined to discuss whether the decision was related to the film-maker's arrest or comments.

The entertainment industry cannot idly stand by and allow Mel Gibson to get away with such tragically inflammatory statements

Ari Emanuel, talent agent

Hollywood's reaction to Gibson's outburst

In an earlier statement, Mr Gibson put his "belligerent" behaviour down to a "horrific relapse" in his battle with alcoholism.

Influential talent agent Ari Emanuel has called for the movie community to boycott his future projects.

"At a time of escalating tensions in the world, the entertainment industry cannot idly stand by and allow Mel Gibson to get away with such tragically inflammatory statements," he wrote on the Huffington Post weblog.

The star of the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon films won a best director Oscar for his 1995 film Braveheart, in which he also starred.

His new film Apocalypto is due to be released in the US on 8 December.

What was Lost's Naveen Andrews – who's dated Barbara Hershey since 1998 – doing on Manhattan Beach on Saturday with a mystery blonde?

"I have no comment," his rep tells PEOPLE in its new issue. "Naveen and Barbara are still together."

In fact, during a PEOPLE interview just hours before the beach romp, Andrews, 37 – who plays former Iraqi soldier Sayid on the hit ABC drama – insisted all was well. "(My private life) seems to be dysfunctional," he said, "(but) what's actually going on. … is good and pure."

In January, Andrews admitted he'd fathered a baby boy with another woman during a brief 2005 split from Hershey, 58. "I have every intention of assuming appropriate responsibility for the child," he said in a statement at the time.

The British-born actor also said that he and Hershey had worked things out and remained committed to their relationship.

Over the years, Andrews's love life has taken some movie-worthy twists, including a romance with a math teacher at his London high school that began in his late teens.

Though Geraldine Feakins was 15 years older, "I must stress that we didn't begin living together until I was over 18," Andrews told PEOPLE last year, refuting tabloid reports that had them moving in together when he was 16.

That six-year union produced a son, Jaisal, now 13 and living with his mother. "We see each other every school holiday," Andrews said.

At age 29, Andrews met Hershey, who was 50 at the time (and the mother of a son, Tom, now 32, from her relationship with Kung Fu star David Carradine in the '70s) on the set of the obscure 1999 indie film Drowning on Dry Land.

"I've always liked women who are older," Andrews told PEOPLE. "They seem to know who they are, and they've lived. They've got soul, and that's very attractive."

However, he admitted to some strains in his relationship with Hershey, especially with him spending much of his time in Oahu, where Lost is filmed. "It requires a constant effort to make sure you see each other," he said. "Our limit is usually three weeks apart."

When the couple get together in Hawaii or L.A., their permanent home, "we basically shut down, and it's just us," Andrews said. "We don't really go out on the (party) scene at all. We go to bookshops."

Mel Gibson has been charged with misdemeanor drunken driving, having an elevated blood-alcohol level and having an open container of liquor in his car.

Gibson "was charged with one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence and driving while having a .08 percent or higher blood alcohol content," said Deputy District Attorney Ralph Shapiro, the deputy in charge of the Malibu office, in a statement issued Wednesday.

"In addition, Gibson was charged with driving with an open container, an infraction of the vehicle code."

The statement continues, "Gibson was stopped about 2:09 a.m. Friday on Pacific Coast Highway after a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy allegedly observed him driving his 2006 Lexus LS at more than 85 mph. An open bottle of tequila allegedly was found in his car.

"He was released on Friday on his own recognizance. His arraignment is set for Sept. 28 in Malibu Superior Court, Division 3. If convicted, he's facing up to six months in county jail."

Courteney Cox and her husband, David Arquette, are "hoping" for a second child, the actress tells PEOPLE.

"We're hoping it will happen," Cox, who stars as a tabloid editor in the upcoming F/X series Dirt, told PEOPLE last week.

A few days later, at the premiere of her animated flick Barnyard, the actress (who's usually not one for personal chit-chat on the red carpet) added, "We're thinking about it."

This isn't the first time Cox, mother to 2-year-old Coco, has talked about expanding her family. "I'm not really ready right this second," she tells Marie Claire in its August issue. "But I'll probably do it one more time."

Cox, 41, who went through in-vitro fertilization to have Coco, said she plans to do IVF again, even though, she says, "It drives you crazy with the hormones."

Cox calls motherhood "really hard," but worth it. "I am so nuts about my child," she tells Marie Claire.

As for her parenting skills, Cox says, "I'm a good mom because I'm consistent and I set boundaries, because schedules are really important for kids, but we spoil Coco. We sing and we have fun."

Jenny McCarthy is opening up about her romance with funnyman Jim Carrey, saying she's happy – but not ready to tie the knot.

"Our dynamic is great. I'm very, very happy. It's a lot of laughing," the actress told PEOPLE at the celebration for the 40th anniversary of Caesars Palace Las Vegas on Wednesday.

When asked about a possible wedding, McCarthy, who has been spending time with Carrey, 44, in the capital of quickie weddings, Las Vegas, said, "No, there is no marriage on my mind – at all."

The weekend of July 28, the couple stayed at the $25,000-a-night Sky Villa in Sin City's Palms Casino Resort. During their three-day getaway, they enjoyed in-room massages and hit the high-roller lounge for some blackjack.

"They looked very happy and very into each other," a witness tells PEOPLE.

McCarthy and Carrey quietly started dating eight months ago, but they've been stepping out in public recently with dates including a June 16 helicopter ride in Santa Monica and outings to Fiona Apple and Radiohead concerts.

Carrey is "an amazing person," McCarthy told Access Hollywood in July.

Country music star Freddy Fender has inoperable cancer and is "hoping for a miracle," according to his wife and manager, Vangie Huerta.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported Wednesday that Fender, a three-time Grammy winner, was told by doctors in June that he had multiple tumors on his lungs.

"I feel very comfortable in my life," the Texas-based singer told the paper. "I'm one year away from 70 and I've had a good run."

He added, "I really believe I'm okay. In my mind and in my heart, I feel okay. I cannot complain that I haven't lived long enough, but I'd like to live longer."

Fender started his career in the late 1950s and had hits with his songs "Before The Next Teardrop Falls," "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" and "You'll Lose A Good Thing." He won his most recent Grammy in 2002, a best Latin pop award for his album La Musica de Baldemar Huerta.

He was first diagnosed with lung cancer in January when doctors were preparing to remove the upper left lobe of his lung because of a fungal infection. Instead, they found two tumors and left the lobe intact while proceeding with chemotherapy, Huerta told the Caller-Times.

That treatment started in late January, but Fender later decided to stop due to its severe side effects. A scan later revealed nine more tumors.

Fender is now resting at his home in Corpus Christi and has resumed chemotherapy at a lower dosage. "We can prolong his life with medication or chemo, but it's not a cure," Huerta said.

The first-ever designer to be kicked off Bravo's Project Runway for breaking the rules has spoken out about his ouster – and he thinks he got a raw deal.

Brooklyn, N.Y., native Keith Michael, 34, was asked to leave because he had pattern-making books in his room – a violation of the contest's rules – and at one point had gone AWOL from the production.

The freelance designer tells Bravo senior vice president of production and programming Andy Cohen, who writes a blog on bravotv.com, "I am not the kind of person who can't admit when he's wrong. I feel like there was a lack of integrity on behalf of the production. I thought it was one-sided."

He doesn't deny he had the books – only that he used them to cheat. "These pattern books were not the kind that you would be able to use for practical purposes on the show," he says.

"One of the books was the most detailed pattern book you would ever see about menswear that had nothing to do with anything on the show. I brought it because I was working on my menswear line at the time. And the other was a dictionary of production terms."
As for what he did during his four-hour unauthorized leave from production, Michael tells Cohen, "All I did was I went to my boyfriend's apartment, found his spare key, found an e-mail from the executive producer and asked him to contact me. I don't know what to say – that's the deal."

Michael says that at least one Project Runway contestant is on his side: Fellow Brooklyn native Alison Kelly. "Alison is very supportive of me. She was very confused because she liked me very much. It seemed like the evidence against me was heavy and she didn't know what to feel."

"I think this whole thing is farfetched and crazy," he continues. "I have gotten so much fan e-mail from this whole thing. People want me to be the bad boy, but I am not that guy. … I thought I would win because of talent, but now I don't know who's to blame but I am not owning up to this."

Michael also addresses Internet rumors that the sketches he'd presented at his audition were in fact drawings from other designers' runway shows. The sketches, he says, were part of a trend report he'd presented to a client as an overview of the latest styles.

"I work for a lot of huge fashion companies and do trend reports for a lot of them and people pay me for that information to review what's going on in fashion," he says.

What's next for the designer? "I am focusing on getting a showroom to represent me," he says. "I need cash behind me to do what I want. Getting the funding that I need will hopefully let me show in September."

And he's confident he'll get the funding even without Project Runway's $100,000 prize. "I was hoping to win," he says. "But I will figure out another way of doing it. There's a few ways to skin a cat, right?"

Paris Hilton, who has been linked to a string of rich and famous men, wants to set the record straight about her sexy image.

"People think I sleep with everyone, but I'm not like that," the Simple Life star and hotel heiress tells British GQ in its September issue. "Kissing is all I do."

In fact, Hilton, 25, says, "I'm not having sex for a year. I've decided. … I'll kiss, but nothing else."

For that matter, the star reveals that she's only ever had sex with two men in her entire life. "The reason so many of my relationships don't work is guys are like, 'Hey what's going on? It's been like four months and I'm only getting a kiss here,' " she says.

When it comes to chastity, says Hilton, "I feel good about it. I like the way guys go crazy when they can't have sex with you."

Expanding upon that philosophy, she theorizes, "If he can't have you, he stays interested, the moment he has you he's gone. Unless he is really in love with you."

As for the subject of guys, specifically the ones who have been in her life, Hilton says of her first love, Jason Shaw: "He's amazing. We are very close and he lives next door to me."

Of former fiancι Paris Latsis: "I won't get back with him."

Of former USC football star Matt Leinart: "We're good friends, we just hang out together. He's a good guy."

Hilton also says that she thinks she'll only be married once, and when it comes to going out on a date, she likes to be treated "like a princess."

One of two alleged serial shooters who were identified by Phoenix authorities on Friday is a professional sports photographer, PEOPLE has been told.

Dale S. Hausner, whose picture was not released by the police, is a boxing photographer, according to a former employer, neighbors and boxers he photographed. Hausner has a Web site, boxingandmore.com, on which he is pictured with legendary boxer Mike Tyson and other professional boxing stars. Police have not yet verified Hausner's background.

Mary Ann Owen, a onetime corrections officer who is now a Las Vegas photographer, told PEOPLE that she hired Hausner to photograph boxers for her boxing Web sites. Owen says she hasn't seen him in three years, but describes Hausner as "the kid next store."

"He reminded me of Pat Boone," she told PEOPLE. "I absolutely fell out of my chair hearing this about Dale."

Owen said she detected no hint of violent tendencies in Hausner. "I can't believe he’d do something so heinous. It's like something out of a Stephen King novel. We think we don't know people like that."

At a press conference on Friday, authorities did not reveal what evidence they have against Hausner and the other accused killer, Samuel Dieteman, who were arrested late Thursday at a gated apartment complex in Mesa. But authorities expressed confidence that the men were responsible for 15 months of deadly attacks in the "Serial Shooter" case, the Associated Press reports.

"These are the two monsters we've been hunting," Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon said at a news conference.

Assistant Police Chief Kevin Robinson said Hausner, 33, and Dieteman, 30, are friends who lived in Mesa. Investigators found no obvious connections between the two men and the victims, Robinson said.

"The best we could tell, they were just random victims. These individuals just picked victims out and that was it," Robinson said.

Six people were killed and 17 wounded in attacks attributed to the Serial Shooter, mostly in Phoenix's suburbs.

Kathy Ireland has graced the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue three times, runs her own $1 billion clothing-and-furniture line and is the happily married mother of three – yet she faced hurdles along the way.

"When I started my business, I was told I wasn’t smart enough," Ireland, 41, said speaking at Long Beach City College on July 29. "But you have to believe in yourself."

Those are words to live by, especially for the 50 new mothers – unmarried and mostly in their teens – who were there as part of the L.A.-based Kathy Ireland Mentor Program for Single Teen Mothers.

Since starting the program in 1990, Ireland has matched some 500 girls with female mentors, who meet with the girls at least four times a year and phone regularly to offer advice on everything from going back to school to ending an abusive relationship. (Each pair signs a contract to keep in touch for a year.)

Ireland – who this year awarded each girl a $500 scholarship for school costs – says her Christian faith fuels her desire to help: "I believe we are all God's children."

One young woman Ireland has guided is Christina Perez, 23, who met Ireland four years ago when Perez was a high school dropout and unmarried mom. Today Perez is a married mother of three, studying for her GED and working part-time.

"We all have value," she says. "Kathy taught me that."

Fasten your seat belts: Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly play NASCAR stars in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. But these boys aren't all about burning rubber. Ferrell, 39, and Reilly, 41, chatted with PEOPLE contributor Sam Jemielity about topics including Club Med, American Idol and . . . Styx.

Did you two hang out together before making Talladega Nights?

REILLY: We knew each other but did not like each other.

FERRELL: We kept seeing each other in public. People would go, "You know who that guy is?" I would go, "Yeah, I know who he is. I do not like him." Cut to: Club Med. Cancun.

REILLY: I'm trading some drink beads for a volleyball token. And guess who wants the token?

FERRELL: Me. I said, "Can we just cut the b.s.?"

REILLY: And I said, "Let's hug. Let's be friends." How much of this interview should be satire?

FERRELL: Actually, we met through Molly Shannon, at a brunch.

John, did you give Will NASCAR wisdom gained from acting in the Tom Cruise movie Days of Thunder?

REILLY: Yes. I gave him a copy of the movie and said, "Avoid all performances in this as a guidepost, and you’re gonna be in good shape."

FERRELL: People think I'm basing my character on Nicole Kidman's in Days of Thunder. Which is a lie.

You've both appeared in musicals. If you were both finalists on American Idol, who would win?

FERRELL: It's all about song choice. Because on an experience and technical level, John would be a little bit ahead of me. I might come at him with a little Jesus Christ Superstar.

REILLY: I might come with Styx: "Too Much Time on My Hands." A Chicago band.

FERRELL: And speaking of Chicago, I might come with (singing in falsetto), "If you leave me now, you'll take away the very heart of me."

BOTH: (singing) "Oooh no, baby, please don't go."

Who helped shape your hayseed personalities for the film?

REILLY: I prefer to think of them as southern gentlemen. We had a dialect coach at the beginning, but she quickly realized we would not be good students and fled the set.

In the movie, Ricky Bobby’s motto is "If you ain't first, you're last." What's yours?

FERRELL: I live by "Earnin' and burnin'." Meaning, I like to make money and spend it before I even have it. That's the way I live my life.

REILLY: "If you got it, flaunt it. Even if you don't got it, still flaunt it."

Madonna staged a mock-crucifixion in the Italian capital on Sunday, ignoring a storm of protest and accusations of blasphemy from the Roman Catholic Church.

In a sold-out stadium just a mile from Vatican City, the lapsed-Catholic diva wore a fake crown of thorns as she was raised on a glittery cross during the Rome stop of her worldwide "Confessions Tour."

The Vatican had accused her of blasphemy and provocation for even considering staging the sham crucifixion on its doorstep, anger Madonna further enflamed prior to the show by inviting Pope Benedict to come and watch.

The self-styled "Queen of Pop" went on to pepper her two-and-a-half hour show with more controversial imagery, at one point showing photographs of the pope after those of former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

"Did you know two miracles have taken place in Rome?" the star, dressed in skin-skimming black, later joked with the crowd. "Italy won the World Cup and the rain stopped before my show."

The 70,000 fans, crammed into the Olympic Stadium, shrugged off the scandal by dancing, singing and jumping as she performed songs from her latest album, Confessions on a Dance Floor, and classics such as "Like a Virgin."

Yet the cheering lulled when she was raised on the cross and some fans from predominantly Roman Catholic Italy confessed their disappointment.

"The crucifixion was unnecessary and provocative. Because this is Rome, I wish she'd cut it out. But it's Madonna, she's an icon, and that balances out her need to provoke," said 39-year old Roman Tonia Valerio.

It is not the first time Madonna, whose father is a Catholic Italian American, has caused religious anger for her controversial religious and sexual imagery.

Catholic leaders condemned as blasphemous her 1989 video for the hit song "Like a Prayer," featuring burning crosses, statues crying blood and Madonna seducing a black Jesus.

In 2004, a Vatican group warned that her latest religious belief, Kabbalah, a mystical from of Judaism, was a potential threat to the Roman Catholic faithful.

And she looks likely to face another storm when the tour reaches Moscow in September, where the Russian Orthodox Church has advised its followers to boycott the show because of the crucifixion stunt, agency Interfax reported on Saturday.

Jessica Simpson's next album, A Public Affair, is set for release Aug. 29 – and though the title may make it sound like it's about the spotlight placed on her crumbling marriage to Nick Lachey, she insists that isn't the case.

"A Public Affair is a play on words," Simpson, 26, tells MTV News. "It's not about what you think it's going to be about."

Granted, she admits, "People probably expected (it to be about Lachey) because of everything going on in my life, but it's not about him at all."

Instead, she says, "It's about me going out with my girlfriends and forgetting everything that's around me, which is paparazzi, and just having a fun night. Because (paparazzi) can ruin a night."

That's not to say that Lachey didn't serve as the inspiration for at least one track on the album, Simpson reveals.

During the "really tough time" last year when things were falling apart, Simpson says she found solace when she shared one of her favorite songs with younger sister Ashlee: Patty Griffin's "Let Him Fly."
"We laid there listening to the song and just cried and cried like babies," Simpson tells MTV.com. "In a lot of ways, my sister really gave me the strength to pull through this really hard time. And it was just lying there and being with her that got me through it. I knew everything would be okay."

The song, which Simpson covers on the album, "is about how sometimes you just have to know when to let something go," she says. "(It) was just perfect for that moment. And I had to sing it."

Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock have gotten married – again, the actress says on her Web site and her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

"It's official. Just left the courthouse!!!! Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie have left the building," reads the posting headlined "Detroit Wedding" on Anderson's Web site. (Kid Rock's real name is Bob Ritchie.) "Off to honeymoon in Detroit! Go Tigers!" the message continues.

The Motor City wedding is the couple's second ceremony. Last weekend in Saint-Tropez, they held an elaborate wedding ceremony aboard a yacht, but the marriage was not considered legal under French law because in that country couples must first have a civil wedding at the mayor's office. The Detroit ceremony may also not be legal: A search of public records has not yet yielded a marriage license for the couple.

The second ceremony comes as no surprise, however: During a July 26 press conference in Las Vegas, Anderson repeatedly declared her intentions to marry her rocker beau – serial-style.
I'm going to get married a few times this month to the same guy," she said. "We had to do Malibu, we've got to do Detroit, and we've got to do Nashville."

Anderson, 39, and Rock, 35, began dating in spring 2001. The following April 11 they became engaged in the Las Vegas desert, only to split the following year. Still, when they ran into each other in Saint-Tropez on a mutual friend's yacht in early July, the feelings were still there.

"It was like we'd never been apart," Rock told PEOPLE on July 11. "(I) love her to death." Anderson announced their engagement on her Web site on July 18.

Anderson has two sons, Brandon, 10, and Dylan, 8, with ex-husband Tommy Lee, to whom she was married from 1995 until 1998. Detroit-born Rock has a 16-year-old son, Robert James Ritchie Jr., whose mother is Kelly South Russell, a Detroit autoworker.

Janet Jackson doesn't have a problem with dating younger men: In fact, she prefers it, the singer says in a new interview.

"I came to realize that younger men had less of a problem with who I am than older men," Jackson, 40, whose boyfriend is 33-year-old music producer Jermaine Dupri, tells Vibe magazine.

"With the younger guys, there was less ego. Things were less competitive. They weren't threatened by who made more and who made less."

Dupri, she says, gives her self-esteem "a little boost." "When I look at Jermaine, I see myself," Jackson tells the magazine in its September issue, on newsstands Aug. 15. "I feel as if I'm looking in the mirror. The connection I feel with him I have never felt with anybody else."

The couple, who have been together for five years, recently made headlines by hinting that they're planning to get married – possibly on Sept. 26, the date Jackson's new album, 20 Years Old, hits stores.

On the rumored wedding, Jackson told a British radio DJ, "Everyone's been asking me about it. And if it's meant to happen, it'll happen."

One thing she tells Vibe will happen: motherhood. Asked if she wants to have kids, Jackson says, "I do and I will. I didn't before, but with Jermaine I do."

Whether she becomes Mrs. Dupri or not, Jackson doesn't plan to change her risquι image. The singer, who recently dropped more than 60 lbs., appears on the Vibe cover wearing nothing but bikini bottoms and a large shell necklace.

Will she ever stop posing for sexy pictures? "Of course," Jackson says. "When I'm 80. That's when I'll call it quits."

As for her famous Super Bowl performance, during which her nipple was exposed during the game's live halftime show with Justin Timberlake, Jackson has put the incident behind her.

"It's just over and done with. It's old. It's the past. It's history. I'm onto something new," she says. "Everybody got their licks in – those who wanted to – and it's done."

Lindsay Lohan wants visit the troops in Iraq – accompanied by New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"I've been trying to go to Iraq with Hillary Clinton for so long," Lohan, 20, tells Elle magazine in its September issue, according to the New York Post. "Hillary was trying to work it out, but it seemed too dangerous."

She continues, "I wanted to do what Marilyn Monroe did (during the Korean War), when she went and just set up a stage and did a concert for the troops all by herself. It's so amazing seeing that one woman just going somewhere, this beautiful sex kitten, who's basically a pinup, which is what I've always aspired to be."

Even without Sen. Clinton, Lohan is confident she can handle an Iraq trip on her own. "I'm not afraid of going," she says. "My security guard is going to take me to a gun range when I get back to L.A., and I'm going to start taking shooting lessons."

According to the Post, in the Elle interview Lohan says she's never had plastic surgery and doesn't use cocaine. But she does like to tell the press "things that aren't true … just because it's fun," she says.

Clay Aiken is being sued for more than a quarter of a million dollars by the author of an "unauthorized tribute" to the American Idol runner-up.

Jeannie Holleman, 50, of Raleigh, N.C., claims that Aiken defamed her and conspired to hinder sales of her 2005 book, Out of the Blue – 'Clay' it Forward, the Associated Press reports.

Holleman describes herself as a lifelong friend and neighbor of the McGhees, a Raleigh family that was close to Aiken's mother, Faye Parker. Holleman also says she took in Parker and a young Aiken when Parker left her abusive husband.

Holleman's book is a compilation of interviews with the McGhees, along with the author's personal recollections and anecdotes from Aiken's fans.

In her lawsuit, filed Friday in Wake County Superior Court, Holleman alleges that Aiken, his mother and others denied they knew her, said her stories were lies and belittled the book on Aiken fan sites in an effort to defame Holleman and depress her book sales.

She also claims that one of Aiken's bodyguards manhandled her at a Hawaii fundraiser.

Holleman is seeking at least $260,000 in damages. She also asks that the court order Aiken to retract his critical comments or to endorse Out of the Blue on his official Web site, write an introduction for the book and sell it at his concerts for at least five years.

On Monday, Aiken, 27, issued a statement through his record company, RCA (which will release his new album, A Thousand Different Ways, on Sept. 19), saying that he'd "instructed my attorneys to not only vigorously dispute the claims that have been made but to also pursue all possible remedies against those involved in the perpetration of these untruths."

The statement continues, "As a so-called 'celebrity' I have become used to scurrilous allegations and untruths being made about me and my work. I have always taken the path of not reacting to these matters and have accepted them as, somehow, coming with the 'job.' However, I cannot, and will not, stand by when these attacks are made on my family."

He may not be as light-headed as Will Ferrell's Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights, but Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has a thing for speed.

The ABC show's "Dr. McDreamy" – who finds racing "really a really great release for me" – drives as part of the Hyper Sport team.

"I come back appreciating my day job so much more," the actor, 40, tells TV's Entertainment Tonight. "I find that I work harder and I am clear mentally going into it."

As for how his racing career got rolling, Dempsey says: "My wife (Jillian) got tired of me sitting on the couch on Sundays watching the Speed Channel and said, 'Get up and go do a Skip Barber racing program for three days.' That started the bug."

Barber, a Formula One driver who competed in the '70s, runs what is billed as the world's premier driving and racing school, in Connecticut.

Dempsey's No. 54 Ford Mustang is sponsored by the women's clothing firm New York & Company, for which he and Grey's costar Ellen Pompeo had done an ad campaign.

"It shows what a wonderful company New York & Company is to think outside the box to put their label and their belief into this race team," he says.

New York & Company is also sponsoring a contest on its Web site, in which the grand-prize winner will be flown to Virginia to watch the 2006 Grand Am Championship finale – and spend time with Dempsey. Deadline for entering is Sept. 4.

Tour de France winner Floyd Landis – who faces the prospect of losing his title after having twice tested positive for a high testosterone ratio during the race – has faced some tough grilling this week, including a round on the usually frothy Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night.

"I see you on these shows," the TV host told the 30-year-old athlete, who started the week defending himself on both Today and Good Morning America, "and I do want to believe you and evidence seems – I don't know if it's overwhelming – but it seems pretty conclusive, right?"

Landis agreed, provided one goes by the tests – prompting Leno to fire back, "Why should we not go by the tests? Tell me why.'"

Landis responded that there were several possibilities, saying, "The tests and the people doing the tests would like you to believe that the only possibility is that I essentially took some drugs and that's why the test is that way."

Landis also suggested that's something he might have eaten is "also the possibility, and it's an argument that has been used by other people. At this point, I don't know if it's somehow or some way I ingested something that caused the tests to be that way."

Since the test was made public, Landis and his defense team have floated anything from cortisone shots taken for pain in his degenerating hip; drinking beer and whiskey the night before; thyroid medication; his natural metabolism; and dehydration, reports the Associated Press.

Landis additionally insisted that his body naturally caused the positive tests. On Tuesday, he also called into question the integrity of the testing monitors.

"I'm beginning to wonder about this myself after the way the situation's been handled, is that after the (sample) leaves my hands ... after I give them the sample, I don't know where it goes."

Both of Landis's "A" and "B" samples taken after Stage 17 of the race turned up a testosterone-epitestosterone ratio of 11:1 – far in excess of the 4:1 limit. Further tests also showed that the samples contained synthetic testosterone, indicating that it was from an outside source.

Landis has maintained his innocence. Should he be stripped of the championship, he would be the first rider to lose the title in the race's 103-year history.

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have hired the same attorneys who represented Prince Charles and Diana during their 1996 royal divorce, reps for both parties have confirmed.

McCartney, 64, has hired Prince Charles's former lawyer Fiona Shackelton, while Mills, 38, has retained solicitor Anthony Julius, who acted for Diana – and won for her a reported $30 million settlement, reports the BBC.

Mills and McCartney separated in May after nearly four years of marriage. They have a two-year-old daughter, Beatrice Milly.

According to reports, Mills is believed to be seeking a settlement of $500 million from McCartney, whose wealth has been estimated to be close to $2 billion.

Mills's spokesman Phil Hall confirmed press reports that McCartney had frozen the couple's joint bank account and sent a "legal letter" to his estranged wife, complaining that three bottles of cleaning fluid were taken from his Sussex, England, home to clean her local office.

"She feels let down. Her friends feel his side is trying to crush her in the hope that she will take a low settlement when the divorce happens," a pal tells PEOPLE.

Meanwhile McCartney's camp insist the former Beatle is being made out as mean. "She paints herself as a victim but this is not true," an insider tells PEOPLE. "There's a lot of careful orchestration going on."

Meanwhile, on Monday police were called to McCartney's London residence when Mills's security guard climbed over the wall of his premises to let her in. The locks on the gates had been changed.

Although the couple initially described their separation as amicable when it was announced in May, McCartney cited her "unreasonable behavior" in divorce papers and Mills responded by vowing to file counter-claims in Britain and the United States.

Robin Williams is seeking treatment for alcoholism, his publicist said Wednesday.

"After 20 years of sobriety, Robin Williams found himself drinking again and has decided to take proactive measures to deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family," the actor's rep, Mara Buxbaum, said in a statement.

"He asks that you respect his and his family's privacy during this time," the statement continues. "He looks forward to returning to work this fall to support his upcoming film releases."

Williams, 55, is currently starring in the thriller The Night Listener and will appear in the drama August Rush and the comedy Man of the Year, both due later this year.

The comic has battled substance abuse before. During his swift rise to fame on the 1978-1982 sitcom Mork and Mindy, Williams became addicted to alcohol and cocaine, he has admitted.

"Cocaine for me," Williams told PEOPLE in 1988, "was a place to hide. Most people get hyper on coke. It slowed me down. Sometimes it made me paranoid and impotent, but mostly it just made me withdrawn. And I was so crazy back then – working all day, partying most of the night – I needed an excuse not to talk. I needed quiet times and I used coke to get them."

Six months before his son Zachary was born in 1983, Williams quit cocaine and alcohol – cold turkey. "No visit to the Betty Ford Center, no therapeutic support," a friend told PEOPLE in 1988. "He just quit, and he hasn't touched drugs or drink since."

What made him quit? Two events: His first wife, Valerie, became pregnant with Zach and pal John Belushi died from a drug overdose just a few hours after Williams snorted a line of coke with him at a hotel.

"The Belushi tragedy was frightening,'' Williams, who is also dad to daughter Zelda, 17, and son Cody, 14, with second wife Marsha, told PEOPLE. "His death scared a whole group of show business people. It caused a big exodus from drugs. And for me there was the baby coming. I knew I couldn't be a father and live that sort of life."

Katie Couric, the former Today cohost who in September will take over as host of the CBS Evening News, says she's ready for a "solid" relationship.

"I would love to be married or in a really solid, committed relationship," Couric, 49, tells Parade in its upcoming issue. "I'd love that now. But he just hasn't materialized."

Couric, who lost her husband, Jay Monahan, to colon cancer in 1998, has since dated Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner and had a brief romance with jazz trumpeter Chris Botti.

Since Monahan's death, Couric has been raising daughters Ellie, 15, and Carrie, 10, alone – and she still has pangs of grief for Monahan.

"I'm doing great. My kids are thriving, but when I see a father walking down the street with a little girl and holding her hand, my feeling of loss is palpable," she says.

Any potential partner, Couric says, "would have to be someone capable of loving my girls – maybe not as much as their biological father, because that tie is so primal. But I'd have to think long and hard before I let anyone spend extended periods of time with them."

Although she's protective of her daughters, Couric says, "You don't want to be so cautions that your heart isn't open. I've started to think it's important for my girls to realize there are some really nice, wonderful men out there."

Not that she's sitting around waiting for Mr. Right. "I'm not going to spend all my time yearning. If you do that – it might sound too Zen – but you miss the here and now," she says.

Couric's "now" is all about doing the things with her daughters that she missed out on during her 15 years on Today. "For years, I never made them breakfast or walked them to school," she says. "You realize how great it is, just being a mother."

Even Gwyneth Paltrow worries about losing her post-pregnancy weight, although she says she's been less stressed since giving birth to son Moses in April than she was after she had daughter Apple, 2.

"The first time, you are horrified," she tells Harper's Bazaar in its September issue. "It's all lovely when you are pregnant; but when you are not pregnant and you haven't been for a couple of months and you are still carrying tons of extra weight and everything's all hanging and sagging, you think, How is this ever going to go back? But it does. If you do a lot of working out."

Both times she was expecting, Paltrow, 33, says she gained 40 lbs., and lost 20 by the time she came out of the hospital.

"With Apple I kept the extra 20 pounds on until she was three months old, and then it came off," she says. "And that's exactly what's happening now." She's been working out, "but not dieting, because I am a milk machine."

But should anyone think her figure is perfect again, Paltrow says, "They should see the cellulite on my thighs right now."
Still, the woman once known for her alcohol-free macrobiotic diet has loosened up. Her vices, she says, are "California and New Zealand pinot noirs." Once the kids are in bed, "I come downstairs, pour myself a glass of red wine and sit in the garden" of the London home she shares with husband Chris Martin.

Any beauty secrets she'll pass on to Apple? "Drink tons of water, and wear sunscreen," she says. "And I really do think that if you eat fresh, organic, good food, you look like it."

Carmen Electra filed for divorce Thursday from her husband of less than three years, rocker Dave Navarro.

Legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court state that petitioner "Tara Patrick, a.k.a. Carmen Electra," 34, and Navarro, 39, wed on Nov. 22, 2003, and separated on July 18, 2006 – the day after they announced they were "amicably separating."

Citing irreconcilable differences, Electra requests that their assets be divided as specified in their prenuptial agreement and that the court not award spousal support to either party. They have no children.

By all accounts, the breakup has, in fact, been amicable. Last month Electra told PEOPLE that she was still living with Navarro, who said in a statement, "Carmen is my best friend and I love her more than anything."

A source told PEOPLE that hectic schedules were to blame for the breakup: Navarro plays guitar in the band Camp Freddy and hosts Rock Star: Supernova and Electra has been shooting the movie I Want Candy.

Electra recently denied a report that she'd gone on a date with Jamie Foxx; Navarro has been spending time with adult film star Jenna Jameson, PEOPLE reports in its new issue.

As the Trump Organization's vice president of real-estate development, Ivanka Trump has to follow the advice of the head of the company, Donald Trump.

But her dad's advice on her love life is a another matter. "He has very strong opinions – which I try not to listen to," Trump, 24, who costarred with The Donald on the most recent season of The Apprentice, tells Stuff magazine in its September issue.

The type of guy her father would have her date? "He loves the athletes because he's always wanted to be an athlete," Trump says. "He's into guys' guys. But when he starts talking about it, I stop listening."

Given her father's tough-guy reputation, she likes to take "as long as possible" before introducing him to a beau, although she insists her dad is nothing like his TV persona.

"He's really a laid-back, mellow guy, but people have a level of anxiety prior to meeting him," she says. "I don't think he's much different from any other father. He's protective, but I'm sure there are fathers who are much worse. He hasn't threatened bodily harm to any of the people I've dated. Well, as far as I know."

Trump has some celebrity crushes she wouldn't mind bringing home to Dad. "I love Joaquin Phoenix," she says. "He has a very sexy thing going. I don't go for the typically handsome guy. Although I love Christian Bale; I think he's sort of an Adonis."
For now, though, she's happy with her social life. "I like to have fun with my friends and go out at night, but you're not going to find me dancing on top of tables or see me trashed outside of Bungalow 8."

Finally, asked if The Donald has ever gone to his daughter for advice on his love life, she says, "God, no! I've certainly tried to give it to him, but he's never solicited it."

One lucky eBay bidder paid $61,600 to buy Matthew McConaughey's 1971 Corvette Stingray, the Associated Press reports.

But the real winners of the auction are the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, who will benefit from the proceeds of the sale.

McConaughey, 36, agreed to donate the money to Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network for Katrina and Rita recovery efforts. The Texas native – and PEOPLE's reigning Sexiest Man Alive – called the Corvette "a luxury that I'm willing to relinquish (to) help so many with the necessities in life."

He said the car, which he had dubbed Mako (like the mako shark), had carried him across his home state and down to Mexico many times.

Hurricane Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast on Aug. 29, and Rita touched down in southeast Texas on Sept. 24.

Bidding on the car ended on July 27 with 72 bids total. The winner of the auction wasn't named.

Law & Order: SVU actor Lou Diamond Phillips was arrested Friday for alleged domestic violence.

Police confirmed to PEOPLE that Phillips, 44, was arrested Friday morning at his home in Los Angeles following an alleged dispute with his girlfriend, makeup artist Yvonne Boismier.

After police were called at about 1:30 a.m., investigators arrived on the scene, gathered evidence and arrested Phillips for assault with a deadly weapon (the deadly weapon, police said, was bodily force).

Phillips was taken to the local police precinct and held on $50,000 bond. However, he was released on his own recognizance without posting bail at about 11:45 a.m.

A rep for the actor tells PEOPLE no charges are being pressed by the police or Boismier, but police say the L.A. city attorney has scheduled a hearing in the matter.
Boismier was the makeup artist for the 2006 sci-fi movie Bloodines, in which Phillips starred.

Phillips was married to director Julie Cypher, who later entered a long-term relationship with Melissa Etheridge, from 1986 to 1990 and to makeup artist Kelly Preston (who changed her last name to Phillips) from 1994 to 2005. Bestselling author – and Dr. Phil's son – Jay McGraw married actress and Playboy model Erica Dahm on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed exclusively.

The couple wed in a non-denominational ceremony before 70 guests inside Dr. Phil and wife Robin's Tuscan-style home in Beverly Hills.

Event designer Edgardo Zamora of Revelry Event Design transformed the house's center room into an all-white chapel, with 30-ft. sheer fabric panels covered in crystals hanging from the cathedral ceiling.

The bride wore a custom-made gown by Chado Ralph Rucci and walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D Major. Dahm, who is one of triplets, had her sisters Jocelyn and Nicole as bridesmaids; Dr. Phil served as best man. "They wrote the entire ceremony and their vows themselves," wedding planner Michael Gapinski of Along Came Mary tells PEOPLE. "It was a very intimate and beautiful ceremony."

A reception for 400 guests followed at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where the ballroom was decorated as "a high-styled supper club," Gapinski says. The newlyweds' first dance was to Kenny Chesney's "Me & You."

The couple met on FOX's 2004 reality show Renovate My Family, which McGraw, 26, hosted and which featured Dahm, 28, and her sisters as construction experts. In August 2005, McGraw proposed with a five-carat diamond, emerald-and-platinum engagement ring he designed.

McGraw is the author of self-help books for teenagers including Daily Life Strategies for Teens and The Ultimate Weight Solution for Teens.

Dahm has been in films including Pauly Shore Is Dead and Juwanna Man. She appeared with her sisters in the December 1998 issue of Playboy. This is the first marriage for both.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette seem to have one of the happiest marriages in Hollywood – and Cox says a trip to a therapist smoothed out a recent rough patch.

"We were just in Sardinia for a vacation," Cox, 41, tells Life magazine in its new issue. "We got into these fights two nights in a row over stupid stuff. But I could see how relationships break up if you don't go, 'What are we doing!?' So we went to a therapist, and he broke it down for us.

"He said, "Courteney, can you see how David gets embarrassed to have any kind of public fight?" I don't scream, but I have no problem saying what I'm feeling in the moment. David's the opposite. So if I need to get something out, I have to say, 'David, can you come talk to me for a minute outside?' Had I done that, (the fights) wouldn't have gotten nearly as big."

Another key to their seven-year marriage: "We just really like each other," Cox tells Life. "He gets a kick out of me, and I get a kick out of him. We're a good balance for each other. He likes the fact that I'm so gregarious – although it can also make him very uncomfortable – and I like the fact that he is so sensitive. We're a great team."

The mom to Coco, 2, and star of the upcoming sci-fi family film Zoom, also says she's started seeing a therapist on her own.

"My friend Laura Dern sat me down and said, 'Okay, this is going to be a big year for you; here's a list of things you need to do.' One of them was to write down all the things I liked about myself. She saw that I was being too frenetic – that I wasn't enjoying life as I should. I didn't know it, but she could see it as a friend. Then she said, 'I want you to go see my therapist.' I'm a great caretaker. But one thing I'm not good at is taking care of myself. My goal for this part of my life … is to be more nurturing to myself."

As she approaches 42, Cox says she feels more confident, although she admits "aging isn't for sissies. … People who read a magazine can look at the picture and go, 'She looks great for over 40!' But guess what? That's not what I look like. Lighting is everything. When you're in your car and you look in the mirror and the sun's beaming in, you're like, 'Wow, times are getting tough.' "

And, as she recently told PEOPLE, she and Arquette are hoping for a second child. "We're not trying yet," she says. "We're revving up the engines. I'm only ready 'cause time's a-ticking. If I was 34, I'd wait another year, because I like those three-to-four-year gaps. I want Coco to be helping me with the next one. One child is hard. Two is probably harder."

Rapper and producer Kanye West is engaged, several sources have confirmed to PEOPLE exclusively.

West, 29, proposed to his girlfriend, Alexis, while overseas for two weeks recently, sources close to the singer tell PEOPLE.

Alexis, whose last name and occupation were not immediately available, was West's girlfriend prior to his October 2002 car accident, one source says.

A rep for West had no comment. This will be the first marriage for the Grammy winner.

West began his rise to fame as a producer for Roc-a-Fella Records, where he gained notice for his work on Jay-Z's 2001 album The Blueprint. He has also produced hits for artists including Ludacris and Alicia Keys.

But his career was nearly derailed by a near-fatal car accident in 2002, which inspired the single "Through the Wire" from his 2004 debut album, The College Dropout.

That record earned Grammys for best rap album and best rap song, and during his acceptance speech West thanked the car accident, saying it made him realize that, "If you have the opportunity to play this game called life, you have to appreciate every moment."

His second album, 2005's Late Registration, won Grammy awards for best rap album, best rap song and best rap solo performance.

Actress Kate Hudson and her husband, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, are splitting, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The You, Me and Dupree star's rep, Brad Cafarelli, confirms that the couple are separating after nearly six years of marriage.

Hudson, 27, and Robinson, 39, wed on New Year's Eve 2000 after dating for about a year. Their son, Ryder Russell, was born Jan. 7, 2004.

In September 2004, while shooting Skeleton Key in New Orleans, Hudson told PEOPLE about her relationship with Robinson since Ryder's birth: "We're sharing something so gigantic now. I think it's the best we've ever felt being together."

Shanna Moakler has a new partner – dance partner, that is. The Meet the Barkers star, whose split from husband Travis Barker was announced recently, will compete with pro dancer Jesse DeSoto against other celeb/dancer pairs on the third season of Dancing with the Stars, ABC said Monday.

The show, which kicks off with a two-hour season premiere on Sept. 12, will also feature actor Harry Hamlin (husband of Dancing season-two alum Lisa Rinna), Kill Bill star Vivica A. Fox and Saved by the Bell actor Mario Lopez.

Other celebs who will compete for a mirror-ball trophy include MSNBC news anchor Tucker Carlson, talk-show host Jerry Springer, Monique Coleman from the Disney Channel's High School Musical, country singer Sara Evans, pop star Willa Ford, onetime teen idol Joe (formerly Joey) Lawrence and NFL champ Emmitt Smith.

Also returning as judges are former ballroom dancer Len Goodman and dancer-choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

Previous Dancing with the Stars winners include Drew Lachey, who earned first place with partner Cheryl Burke in February, and season-one champ Kelly Monaco, who later danced against runner-up John O'Hurley in a viewer-decided rematch (which O'Hurley won).

Drew Barrymore is ready to start a family, she says.

"I definitely feel the beginnings of a tick tock," Barrymore, 31, tells InStyle in its September issue. "Whether I have children or adopt – whatever form a family comes in, I would absolutely love to have it."

And she's getting more domestic, she says: She won a Project Runway-style dressmaking contest on the set of her new movie, Lucky You, and says she plans to start saving sewing kits from the hotels she stays in with her boyfriend, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti.

Still, she admits, "I can't cook. Fab makes a few good things, but we mostly order in."

Another thing has changed as she's gotten older (she stresses that she's "31 and a half"): She's become more comfortable in her skin. "You learn to love your body," she says. "You can't look at models and feel bad about yourself. I'm not the kind of girl who can stuff her face with pasta all the time and not gain weight."

To stay healthy, "I've been running and doing yoga and Pilates, and I love the way it makes my mind and body feel," she says. "I really don't obsess about it."
But even though she's ready to be a mom, she hasn't quite processed that fact that she's a grown up. "Am I going to walk home from work one day … and realize I'm a homeowner? That I run a production company and have responsibilities and a long-term relationship?" she says.

"All of those things are so adult. I keep wondering when it's going to hit me. Maybe it never will. And that's okay."

The new issue of InStyle hits newsstands Aug. 18.

Last week Courteney Cox told Life magazine, "I'm a great caretaker." But who takes care of her during tough times?

"There are a few people that I would go to," Cox, 42, told PEOPLE Monday night at an event she hosted at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles to benefit the EB Medical Research Foundation. "But I would say my mom and Jennifer (Aniston)."

Cox and husband David Arquette were on hand to support a family friend whose child suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), an incurable genetic disorder that affects about 25,000 people in the U.S. and causes skin to become as fragile and easily torn as tissue paper. Its sufferers are known as "butterfly children" because their skin can be damaged by even the lightest contact.

Why did Cox get involved with the charity? "This horrible genetic problem that no one knows about – there's not enough awareness out there," she said. "I feel so fortunate because David and I – having Coco, we were so blessed. I would say that that's where my heart is most."

Cox is also the spokesperson for Kinerase Clear Skin Collection and Vitamins, which, through the end of October, is donating 5 percent of proceeds to the EB Medical Research Foundation.

Everybody Loves Raymond Emmy winner Brad Garrett and his wife of seven years, Jill Diven, have quietly split, he tells USA Today.

Garrett, 46, says that he and Diven had kept their separation a secret from his coworkers and even his parents, and that he and his ex – whom he considers "an extraordinary woman" and "the greatest mom in the world" – are on good terms.

The pair officially separated this April, according to court papers filed last month. Garrett was on tour with his stand-up act in December when the pair decided to split, USA Today reports.

Garrett and Diven have two children, Max, 7, and Hope, 6.

"Our No. 1 focus is our kids and parenting," Garrett tells the paper. "We will always be friends because we will never be single parents. We will always be two parents."

Still, he says, "You can't stay together for the kids, because kids know everything. Sure, it's daunting to have Daddy move out, but when he's back two days later, and he gives Mom a hug, and everyone goes to lunch – that's what it's about."

Garrett, who stars in the new FOX sitcom 'Til Death, still keeps a room in the Woodland Hills, Calif., mansion he shared with Diven, and she has space in his 1940s Spanish-style home in Malibu, which she found for him while he was on Broadway earlier this year in a revival of The Odd Couple.

Diven was a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas when she and Garrett met, and he proposed to her on the Raymond set on Aug. 25, 1998, with his castmates, crew and the audience as witnesses, PEOPLE reported at the time. They married the following May 18 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, with son Max, then 8 months old, dressed in a tiny tux.

Diven tells USA Today that she has "nothing but positive things to say about Brad. We both realized we're best friends, and we're always going to be best friends. People grow apart. We could do the 'he said-she said' thing, but that's not us."

David "Puck" Rainey, the young rebel from MTV's The Real World: San Francisco, is all grown up – and recently became a dad for the second time, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Puck, 38, and his homemaker wife Betty, 39, confirm that son Rocco Kokopelli Rainey was born on Aug. 6. The baby, whose middle name is an homage to a prehistoric Native American fertility deity, weighed in at 8 lbs., 9 oz. He joins brother Bogart, 4.

Rocco "looks like a combination of both of us, which is probably lucky for him because I'm kind of ugly," Puck tells PEOPLE.

When it comes to being a dad for the second time, Puck turns serious. "I love babies," he says. "Having your own baby gives you a capacity to love something a lot differently. I didn't have the capacity to love things in the same way before I had a kid. I had dogs and fish and plants, but never a kid. I had little Bogart and it kind of changed me a lot. And now, Rocco. I really just like looking at him."

Puck became one of reality TV's first antiheros in 1994 as a spiky-haired, hygienically challenged bike messenger on MTV's third season of The Real World.

Since then, he's appeared in Eminem's 2002 video for "Without Me" and on MTV's Cribs; he and Betty, a former stand-in for actress Debi Mazar, even married on the air on MTV's Real World/Road Rules Battle of the Sexes in July 2002.

These days, the family lives in Mission Hills, Calif. Puck manages the SPΔK motorcycle shop in downtown Los Angeles and, with a friend, runs a custom-granite business in Fremont, Calif.

Of his kids' unusual names, he told PEOPLE last month, "The deal was that the first baby was my choice. His name is Bogart Che Peyote Rainey, so he's cool. This time Betty gets to pick, and I wish I could talk her out of it. It's a combination of my dad's name and her dad's name, so it's Rocco. We can call him Rocky or Roc!"

When Rachael Ray's new talk show kicks off in September, one very special guest will be in the house: Ray's friend and mentor, Oprah Winfrey.

On Aug. 3, Winfrey, 52, made a surprise stop at the New York City set of Ray's show, where she hung out for the entire taping, met the audience, got a full tour of the set and shared some on-air coffee talk with Ray.

Afterwards, Winfrey, who rarely appears on other people's shows, headed to the airport for a flight to South Africa, where she is working on her Leadership Academy for Girls, due to open in January.

Ray's hour-long syndicated program, The Rachael Ray Show, premieres Sept. 18. The episode with Winfrey will air during its first week.

However, the show will not be celebrity-driven. Ray, 36, says she expects guests, including her husband, lawyer and musician John Cusimano, to relax and get their hands dirty by cooking with her or playing foosball.

The show is coproduced by King World and Winfrey's Harpo production company. On advice Winfrey has given her, Ray said last month, "She tells me to be myself. She doesn't chime in or call up and say, 'This is how you can be more like Oprah.' She's pretty busy with her own job."

ABC news anchor Elizabeth Vargas has given birth to a baby boy, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Samuel Wyatt Cohn, who was born on Wednesday with a full head of hair, weighs in at 7 lbs. 9 oz.

This is the second child for Vargas and her husband, Grammy-winner Marc Cohn, who sings the hit song "Walking in Memphis." They also have a three-year-old son, Zachary.

Both mom and baby are doing "incredible" – and Samuel looks very much like his adorable big brother, according to proud dad Cohn.

In April, when she was five months along, Vargas, 43, told PEOPLE, "I feel bigger. Any woman who's been pregnant twice will tell you, you get bigger faster the second time."

This time around was harder on her as well. "I'm more tired, I feel sicker," said Vargas, though she admitted that moms-to-be "perhaps have more of a glow. The only time I have decent fingernails is when I'm pregnant or nursing."

Vargas had co-anchored World News Tonight with Bob Woodruff, who was injured in a roadside bombing in Iraq on Jan. 29. He is still recovering.

On May 23, Charles Gibson was named anchor of the newscast after Vargas was to go on maternity leave. She is due to return in the fall to her hosting duties on ABC's 20/20.
