It is a sad story. Unfortunatly those snub Iranians are a big pain for lots of us. I feel the pain of the writer of the article, the pain of seeing people who snick in lines and do not respect anybody. There is a section of Iranian disrespectful of everything, the only thing that I am hoping is that these are a has-been generation and soon there will not be any.
But I think that this person missed a big part of the concert which actually was the most exciting part. The second part of the concert where Mehrdad sang some of Googoosh's songs was great, we were thousands singing with him all the songs word by word. That was great. And then the "sorood e melli" which was an absolutly great moment. I understand that he wanted to come and see some songs and leave (as he mentioned in his article), but he forgot that we are a hurt society, everyday people die in our country for their opinions and believes and this touches many iranian souls in and out of the country and that keeps their patriotic feelings alive.
Anything for a lot of iranian in exil is good to feel closer to their beloved and missed country, and right now Googoosh's combat became a national issue for lots of them, because they are seeing who are behind those that she is fighting against. Even though this fight started to be just a MONEY and contract fight.
So my conclusion, this concert was not worse than any other concert, the excitement was high with Googoosh in the public and all the issues around it. Lots of us (I was not intending to go there before the problem started) went there just to support the icon of the Persian Music.
