Germans, No.1 Tourists Arriving in Iran
Tehran, 23 October 2005 – Iran’s first season of welcoming inbound tourists flourished this year with the arrival of large groups of German tourists into the country.
“With the year halfway through, Germans have made up the largest number of tourists arriving in Iran so far,” explained director of Iran’s Tourleaders’ Association, Ibrahim Pourfaraj.
Pourfaraj believes the attention Germans are giving Iran as a tourist destination is the outcome of the positive approach of Iran’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization for publicizing and introducing the country and its cultural tourist attractions to a German audience.
Right now, from capital Tehran to the historical cities of Isfahan, Shiraz, Yazd, Kerman, to the Shiite religious city of Mashhad, cities throughout Iran are welcoming German tourists in large numbers.
The exact number of the inbound tourists during the first season of tourism arrival will be announced, according to director of the committee for inbound tours of Iran, Akbar Ghamkhar, by end of October.
Germans have been the number one group flocking into Iran during the year’s first season for receiving incoming tourists.
