north korea is another misunderstood place. I heard they have an interesting philosophy there...
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
and he will make the face of heaven so fine,
that all the world will be in love with night,
and pay no worship to the garish sun
- Shakespeare
"In all intellectual debates, both sides tend to be correct in what they affirm, and wrong in what they deny." - JS Mill
“I want to feel passion, I want to feel pain. I want to weep at the sound of your name. Come make me laugh, come make me cry... just make me feel alive.”
If you wish to be loved, show more of your faults than your virtues. - Edward Bulwer-Lytton

going to north korea is definitely exciting and an educational trip, we didnt plan it, we were in china with some friends on holiday and we just though lets goto north korea because it was cheap... lol, if you plan these trips it takes away the excitement and thrill of the unknown :P
Took a while to get my visa sorted from china but it was all good, when you cross the boarder its like going back a few decades in time, it was everything i read soviet russia used to be like in books!!!
everyone is so obedient, hard working and know their place within society, although we only went to pyong yang i got the feeling north koreans aren't so keen on removing their leaders, alot of people love their leaders like he is god to them!!
It was really funny watching north korean tv, the cartoons, the tv always has the message of communism, propaganda and evils of democracy and capitalism.
Iran is sanctioned but has oil, north korea has nothing, they counterfeit money, drugs, anything really!!! there was a constant powershortage (even in the capital city) suddenly there would be a powercut, unlike iranians north koreans never complain. Most of its people seem to be peasants, who work from morning to night in their little farms around the country.
Anyways going back to my initial point, north korea isn't cheap as we thought it would be, apparently they have lots of tourists and visitors and business investors from china! the hotels were pretty expensive and when i got food poisoning which i can only assume is because of all the crap my friends made me eat in nk/china i was charged $100 just for 1 night in hospital!!!
Anyways i got tons of attention in nk, i dont think they see many middle easterns they were all nice to me with a nice warm smile!
Anyways maybe this year age khoda bekhad ya tajikistan miram ya felestin
I thought it is one of the wildest idea to trip North Korea.
There is little point following the crowd and goto places like egypt, france, spain etc. those places although nice are too boring, you'd want to visit new places like nk, burma, kyrgyzstan, mongolia, tajikistan, bolivia etc.
Sitting on a beach getting a sun tan is just way too boring, sight seeing in european cities looking at architecture is interesting for a few hours then quickly gets boring... well thats just the person i am anyways, i much rather live amongst poor people and simple peasants near wild life than in some sleek 4star hotel in some major city!
Damn interesting man. I heard there is no cable tv or mobile phones in nk is't true?
I wish i could visit Iran.
