    Paula Abdul Files Assault Charge

Paula Abdul filed assault charges with Hollywood police on Tuesday against a man who allegedly slammed her into a wall, the Associated Press reports.

The American Idol judge told police she was at a private party at about 1 a.m. on April 2 when a man she was arguing with grabbed her arm and threw her against a wall, according to a police spokesman.

"(Abdul) said she had sustained a concussion and spinal injuries," the spokesman said.

Abdul reportedly saw her doctor following the incident and said that she would make herself available for photographs of her injuries, Reuters reports.

According to the AP, Abdul, 43, gave police the man's name, but no arrests have been made.

Antonio Banderas Puts On His Dancing Shoes

Antonio Banderas stars in Take the Lead, based on the life of Pierre Dulaine, a ballroom dancer who volunteered to teach in New York City public schools. Can swashbuckling Zorro handle a paso doble? PEOPLE spoke with Banderas, 45, a native of Málaga, Spain.

After rehearsing for this movie, could you win Dancing with the Stars?
I don't know the structure of that program. I just use my TV to watch movies, news and sports. But no, I don’t think so. I would do my best, but I don’t think I would win.

How did you prepare for Take the Lead?
My house was built in 1925, and it has a ballroom and a place for an orchestra. So we cleared out the furniture and made a dancing school. I rehearsed there.

What's tougher: Zorro's swordfighting or dancing in Take the Lead?
Zorro was very hard. It was five months of horseback. If I wasn’t busy doing one thing, they had me learning stunts. It was exhausting.

Do you and your wife, Melanie Griffith, tango at home?
No. We dance sometimes, at Christmas and holidays. We love boleros, and they're easy to dance to.

Your daughter Stella (age 9) is here. Does she have rhythm?
      Yes, she does.

So it runs in the family?
      Yes. She is beautiful too.

The movie has an uplifting message. Are you religious?
I have to recognize that I am agnostic. I don’t believe in any kind of fundamentalism. I prefer to take life in a different way, with a sense of humor. I try to teach my kids to be open. Whatever they believe is fine with me.

The women at your press conference said, 'He smells so good!' We must ask: What are you wearing?
I wear my own cologne – 'Antonio.' I started working with a company in Spain called Puig 12 years ago, and we developed four perfumes. The newest one is called Antonio. Last year we won a FiFi award – the Oscars for perfume!

        Scott Foley Soldiers On

Scott Foley, 33, is now past his divorce from former Felicity costar Jennifer Garner – and is trying on a new role in CBS’s The Unit.

Move It, Tubby! Best known for playing lovelorn Noel Crane on Felicity (1998-2002), Foley has transformed himself. To portray a covert military operative on the CBS drama The Unit, Foley buffed up with a trainer. "I'm either on the elliptical machine or running every day,” says Foley. "People come up to me and say, 'You were the fat guy from Felicity.' I think, 'I was?'"

Overseas Mission After filming the show’s first season, Foley didn’t want to just "sit on a beach and drink piña coladas." Instead he headed for Thailand to help rebuild homes lost in the tsunami. "I was stacking these compressed dirt bricks," says Foley. "It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. If I didn’t have a home, a career and a girlfriend here, I'd still be there."

Battle Tested So, are he and Jennifer Garner – whom he divorced in 2003 – still friendly? “I have absolutely no comment,” says Foley, who guards his privacy. "There are people who love to live in glass houses. Not me."

Foley surely isn’t crying in his gunny sack. "Scott is amazing,” says his girlfriend of 21?2 years, actress Marika Dominczyk (TV’s Heist). Says Foley: "I feel the same way about her."

Race to Replace Vieira Heats Up

The game of TV musical chairs continues with the search for a replacement for Meredith Vieira, who will leave ABC's The View to cohost NBC's Today show now that Katie Couric is jumping to the CBS Evening News.

"I think every agent in America is calling," View vet Barbara Walters, 76, tells the Associated Press. Vieira tearfully announced her departure on Friday's episode, although she will remain on the program through next month. Her replacement is due to begin in September.

Walters says that "chemistry" and "humor" are key ingredients for the new costar who will sit alongside herself, Joy Behar, Star Jones Reynolds and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

"We're looking for somebody who can do the interviews and also the hot topics at the beginning of the show," she says. And while she won't name names, Walters admits, "I've seen rumor after rumor after rumor."

Among those rumored to be in the running, according to published reports: CNN's Soledad O'Brien, Everybody Loves Raymond Emmy winner Patricia Heaton, actress Mimi Rogers and the latest, according to the New York Post, newswoman Connie Chung. (Heaton is already developing a talk show of her own for Disney, which owns ABC.)

Walters insists that no matter who lands on the program, The View will not undergo an extreme makeover. "It will change because we have a new person," Walters, herself a Today veteran, tells the Post.

Ryan Seacrest Buys Kevin Costner's House

Kevin Costner's loss is Ryan Seacrest's gain. The American Idol host and E! News anchor, 31, has bought the Rumor Has It star's Hollywood Hills spread for $11.5 million, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Costner has owned the Spanish-style 10,000-sq.-ft. gated residence – which has five bedrooms, a media room, billiards room, tennis court, gym, pool, spa and staff quarters – since 1995, but has been too busy making movies lately to enjoy it, according to the Times.

Costner, 51, and wife Christine Baumgartner also have a home in Santa Barbara and a ranch in Aspen, Colo., that offers fishing and horse riding, the Times says.

              Ali Landry Weds in Mexico

Actress Ali Landry married film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde on Saturday in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, her rep confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE.

Landry, 32, wore a strapless, ivory Monique Lhuillier drop-waist wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline and full ball gown s***t. The dress was made of hand-sewn layers of organza, tulle and chiffon. In keeping with the Mexican setting, Landry wore a paprika feathered bolero after the ceremony.

"He is so beyond amazing," the Eve actress recently told Dolan Media Newswires of Monteverde. "When you dream of 'the guy' as a child, reading your fairy tales and thinking of Prince Charming, you think of all the things you want in a man. And he's everything I thought was possible. He's creative, passionate and would love to help change the world. I respect him so much."

Landry, 32, and Monteverde, who reportedly met at Bible study last year, got engaged over Memorial Day weekend in 2005, and Landry will appear in the 2006 film Bella, which Monteverde wrote, produced and directed.

                Gwyneth Paltrow Has a Boy

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have added to their family. Their second child, a son named Moses Martin, was born this weekend, the actress's rep tells PEOPLE. The baby was delivered at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

The Shakespeare in Love Oscar winner, 33, and her British-born Coldplay frontman husband, 29, already have a daughter, Apple, born May 14, 2004. Moses is the name of a song Martin wrote for his wife in 2003.

Following months of speculation that she was pregnant, in January Paltrow confirmed that she and Martin were expecting. After a Screen Actors Guild screening of Paltrow's movie Proof, Lou Diamond Philips, about to moderate a panel on the film, introduced Paltrow as "a pregnant woman" and then asked her, "How far along are you?

Douglas: I Was Misquoted on Brad & Angelina

Michael Douglas is now saying he was misquoted by a magazine that said he made inflammatory remarks about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

"I don't know about Brad Pitt, leaving that beautiful wife to go hold orphans for Angelina," Douglas, referring to Jennifer Aniston, is quoted as saying in the current GQ magazine. "I mean, how long is that going to last?"

However Douglas says he never uttered those words. "I did not make that statement," he said during an interview for his upcoming film The Sentinel. "It was a lengthy article. I probably spent more than 20 hours with her with a tape recorder and all of that. I asked her to play back the tape for me and she said that she turned the tape off at that time."

Douglas, who is promoting his new movie also says he dispatched a personal apology to Pitt and Jolie.

"I consider him a good friend," Douglas tells TV's Extra, "and she does wonderful work for the United Nations, which is what I'm also involved in ...There's just a lot of pressure on the print media and they get to kind of exploitative quotes to try to attract people for their circulation, so it was unfortunate."

GQ executive editor Andy Ward issued a statement to PEOPLE on Monday saying the magazine stands by its story. "Our reporter Jeanne Marie Laskas spent many hours over the course of four months with Michael Douglas. His comments about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – along with many other quotes from that long night at a hotel bar in Washington, none of which he is disputing – are in Jeanne Marie's notebook. We stand behind them 100 percent. For him to suggest we made them up is laughable. Still, we like the guy and hope all this attention will help his movie."

Kate Moss Reunites with Calvin Klein

Kate Moss continues to kick along the comeback trail, reuniting with the designer who put her on the map in the first place, in 1992: Calvin Klein.

The British supermodel, 32, who's had her share of well-publicized personal troubles lately, on Monday signed to appear on Calvin Klein billboards and in publications this fall for a reputed salary of $900,000, reports the Associated Press.

"Kate and the Calvin Klein brand have a long history together, and it felt natural to reunite them for this new Jeans campaign, which will inevitably reignite that spark and highlight the sexy, cool essence of both Kate and Calvin Klein," said Fabien Baron, the creative director of the campaign, which is to be shot in New York this week.

Appearing with Moss will be British male model Jamie Dornan.

Moss previously worked with the brief-ly clad Mark Wahlberg in her original Calvin campaign.

Pointer, whose type of cancer was not disclosed, had been hospitalized since late February. She died "in the arms of her sisters, Ruth and Anita and her brothers, Aaron and Fritz, by her side," said a family statement. Jennifer Lopez: Marc Makes Me 'Chill'

When it comes to her look and her life, "I've always marched to the beat of my own drum," says Jennifer Lopez.

But then, she also concedes to Harpers Bazaar for its May issue, she has a good accompanist – her husband of nearly two years, Marc Anthony.

"He makes me slow down and eat lunch, which I used not to do," she says. "We have different philosophies. I've been so disciplined. His process is 'Chill, don't kill yourself.'

"Maybe," she suggests, "I've got a martyr thing because I was raised Catholic. But with him I feel like I should relax and slow down. That's a first for me."

Of her low-key spouse, she says: "He lets his talent speak for him; he doesn’t feel the need to broadcast."

When it comes to dressing, Lopez says, "I just don't have fashion fear. I've always been able to see how many different styles can work." That isn't to say she didn't get the jitters last year when she unveiled her Sweetface clothing line, which she calls " the most nerve-racking thing I've ever done."

Peterson Family Denied Money from House

Scott Peterson's mother has lost a legal battle to the parents of the slain Laci Peterson over money from last year's sale of Scott and Laci's house.

Jackie Peterson said in court Thursday that she had continued to pay more than $35,000 for mortgage and other expenses for the Modesto, Calif., residence during a time when Scott was arrested and convicted of killing Laci. (Peterson, 33, is on death row at San Quentin Prison.)

An attorney for Laci Peterson's mother, Sharon Rocha, said creditors can only be reimbursed for debts that have accrued before a death, not after -- and the probate judge agreed.

The Private World of Katie Holmes

It was a scene straight out of a Tom Cruise blockbuster: the hero in the cockpit of a 1944 P-51 Mustang fighter plane, a beautiful girl on the tarmac, and the roar of the jet's engines as it tore across a Mojave Desert sky.

But on this March day there were no movie cameras, just a pumped-up Cruise at the controls of his own plane – emblazoned with the words "Kiss Me Kate" – while his very pregnant fiancée, Katie Holmes, and the crew from a GQ magazine shoot looked on.

"Tom performed a perfect landing," says photographer Brigitte Lacombe. "Then he jumped out onto the runway in his flight helmet. It was perfect." And what did Holmes think? As she later told the crew, "I feel like the coolest girl in the world."
