Kevin Praises His Teen Choice Performance

Kevin Federline gives his performance at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards the thumbs up, he tells PEOPLE in its new issue.

"I'm happy," says Federline, whose first album is due in October. "I think I pulled it off pretty well. (But) I'm overly critical of myself."

Federline closed the show with a performance of his song "Lose Control," introduced by his wife, Britney Spears. "This show has been very good to me and my career over the years," Spears said onstage. "And I'm hoping that it will be as good to our next performer."

After the show, Federline tells PEOPLE, "We went straight from there and jumped in the Ferrari and took off. (Britney) was happy, she was proud. … My whole family and everybody was there."

While he says he'd like to improve his stage presence, Federline is looking forward to remaining in the public eye.

"September 5 we're launching the video," he says. "There's a lot of good things going around here."

Paris's Music Video Banned in India

Paris Hilton is too hot for Indian censors.

The country's Central Board of Film Certification has issued an "Adult" certification for her new music video "Stars Are Blind," which means it cannot be broadcast on any channel, reports Reuters.

An official at her local label, EMI Virgin India Ltd., reported that the board said the clip had sexual connotations.

"In fact, we had edited the video and sent a fresh copy, but they weren't happy with that," said Narendra Kusnur, the label's manager of international A&R (artists and repertoire).

Since the marketing campaign for Hilton's debut album Paris, released in India Tuesday (the same day it hit stores in the U.S.), has been sponsored by a shampoo company, the "Stars" video will be streamed on a promotional Web site, once details are worked out.

"To the best of our knowledge, there are no rules yet regarding censorship on the 'Net so we plan to use the online platform to generate buzz," said EMI Virgin marketing manager Kaveri Khullar.

Lindsay Lohan Selling Her Luxe Digs

Sometimes fast-moving Lindsay Lohan doesn't even leave footprints: That's the case with the actress's West Hollywood condo, which she's put on the market for $2.85 million, PEOPLE reports in its new issue.

Lohan paid $1.9 million for the 2,100-sq.-ft., three-bedroom pad in Sierra Towers, just off the Sunset Strip, in 2005 – but never moved in.

Instead, the actress, who has been filming Georgia Rule in Los Angeles, has been bunking at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel.

So why did she buy the apartment in the first place? "It was an investment," suggests one L.A. real-estate agent. "She'll make a nice turnaround."

The big question now: From whom will ex-neighbors Cher and Matthew Perry borrow sugar?

Kate & Owen: Keeping Their Distance

For Owen Wilson, the Aug. 22 London premiere of You, Me and Dupree was more like you, me and no Kate Hudson in sight. Where was his co-star? Home in Los Angeles, where she was photographed Aug. 20 with estranged husband Chris Robinson, 39, and their son Ryder, 2.

Hudson, 27, had originally planned to go to the London premiere, a close source tells PEOPLE, but she backed out after her separation from Robinson was announced Aug. 14, PEOPLE reports in its new issue.

An ocean is certainly bigger than the several feet Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie always kept between them while promoting their film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith – but evidence linking Hudson and Wilson, 37, continues to mount.

The pair, who have been seen recently with friends at L.A. hot spots Hyde Lounge and Tropicana Bar, "became the best of friends (while filming Dupree)," says a source who knows both actors. "They are smitten with each other."

Hudson's rep had no comment; Wilson's spokesperson called reports of a romance "all … untrue." (Hudson and Robinson told PEOPLE in a joint statement that "our reasons for separating have nothing to do with any third party.")

Still, some friends are pulling for a love match. "(When Kate and Owen met) it was perfect timing," says a pal of Hudson's. "She was ripe for some real companionship and fun. They are comedians and have a naturally upbeat view of life, which Chris did not have. She's a free spirit. And Owen is also a free bird."

Cruise's Camp Fires Back at Paramount

On Wednesday Paramount Pictures announced the end of its business relationship with Tom Cruise – with Sumner Redstone, chief of Paramount parent company Viacom, blaming the actor's conduct. Now, Cruise's camp is firing back.

"Paramount has no credibility right now," Richard Lovett, president of Creative Artists Agency (which represents Cruise), told The New York Times. "It is not clear who is running the studio and who is making the decisions."

Cruise's lawyer, Bert Fields, told the paper that Redstone's comments about Cruise were "disgusting" and suggested that Redstone, who is 83, has "lost it completely, or he's been given breathtakingly bad advice."

Fields added, "That a mogul like Sumner Redstone could make a statement so vicious, so pompous, so petulant as that he didn't want to make a deal with Tom Cruise because of his personal conduct – it tells you more about Sumner Redstone and Viacom than about Tom Cruise."

Cruise, 44, has not commented publicly about the situation.

While some in Hollywood are speculating that Redstone sidestepped Paramount chairman Brad Grey and Viacom CEO Thomas E. Freston to spare them from having to break the bad news, Cruise's producing partner, Paula Wagner, told The Times that the move, in her opinion, put Grey and Freston in a "lose-lose" situation.

"If you didn't know anything about this, how effective are you at running a studio?" she said. "Would anyone want to work with management that's ineffectual? And if you're complicit in it, would anyone work with a studio that devours its own?"

(Wagner also told the paper she and Cruise were planning an equity-financing deal with two hedge funds for $100 million in credit. But Fields said, "I don't think Tom has raised $100 million in a hedge fund. And I know nothing about any such thing. I think that's just talk.")

Responding to Fields's claims about him, Redstone told The Times that "his opinion is in the minority" and that major Hollywood players such as David Geffen and Brian Grazer had called to congratulate him for his handling of the matter.

Alan C. Greenberg, a Wall Street big and longtime Viacom board member, defended Redstone, telling the paper, "Tom Cruise has gone nuts."

Food Network's Jamie Deen, Wife Have a Son

Food Network personality Jamie Deen is a first-time father with his wife, Brooke Terry Deen, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Jack Linton Deen was born Monday in the Savannah, Ga., hometown of his paternal grandmother, Food Network star and author Paula Deen. The newest member of the clan weighed in 6 lbs., 9oz. and was 19.5 inches long.

"He's got his mama's lips and beautiful olive skin and his daddy's big head," says Jamie, who costars with his brother Bobby Deen on the Food Network's Road Tasted. "He smiled yesterday and has a face full of dimples like his dad. It might be a birth defect, but when he's 16 years old it will work for him."

One thing's for sure: Grandma Paula is pleased as punch by the arrival of her first grandchild, something she'd been asking for repeatedly since Jamie and Brooke's March 5, 2005 wedding reception. "Mama signed our wedding registry with 'Are you pregnant yet?'" Deen tells PEOPLE.

"We are truly blessed," says Paula. "This baby is exquisite and perfect."

Jamie, 39, and Brooke, 25, met in November 2003, when she dined at the Deen family's restaurant, The Lady & Sons, which is located around the corner from the bank where she worked at the time. Jamie had noticed the stunning brunette, hazel-eyed Brooke walk by the restaurant every day for months – but only knew his crush as "my five o'clock girl."

It took Jamie until January 2004 to ask her out, but after that he didn't waste time. The couple became engaged in July of that year and married eight months later.

Jamie jokes that instead of a silver spoon in his mouth, baby Jack was born with a spatula in his hand. In fact, grandmother Paula is already stocking the future chef's kitchen. "I think mom already has a cook set, a little frying pan and mixing bowl for him," says Jamie. "She'll probably teach him to make cornbread first thing."

Macy Knocks Costar Lindsay Lohan's Lateness

Veteran character actor William H. Macy says he respects Lindsay Lohan's talent – but not her behavior.

"You can't show up late," Macy, 56, told reporters Thursday at a Los Angeles junket promoting his new movie, Everyone's Hero. "It's very, very disrespectful."

Macy, who shares a scene with Lohan, 20, in the upcoming Emilio Estevez-directed drama Bobby, called the actress a "huge talent," but echoed the sentiments expressed in a letter sent to her recently by a studio chief who blasted her work ethic.

The letter came from James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, which is producing Lohan's film Georgia Rule. Macy's wife, Felicity Huffman, also stars in the movie.

"I think what an actor has to realize (is that) when you show up an hour late, 150 people have been scrambling to cover for you," Macy told reporters Thursday. "There is not an apology big enough in the world to have to make 150 people scramble. It's nothing but disrespect. And Lindsay Lohan is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's inexcusable, and they should have their asses kicked."

When asked about Lohan's work on Bobby, Macy paused and said, "She was pretty late."

He added, "I worry about these young kids – 15, 18, 20 years old – who in the span of one year become millionaires and powerhouses. It's too much power for a kid that age to handle."

Macy, who has starred in films including Fargo and The Cooler, also defended his Magnolia costar Tom Cruise – recently bashed for his own behavior – as "not late."

A rep for Lohan was not immediately available for comment.

                  Baywatch Star Brande Roderick Engaged

Actress Brande Roderick is set to wed former Denver Bronco Glenn Cadrez, her rep confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.

Cadrez, 36, proposed on Sunday in front of more than 30,000 spectators at the Del Mar Classic horse race in Del Mar, Calif., where Roderick, 32, was on hand to present the prize to the winner.

He got down on one knee and presented her with a 3.5-carat diamond ring he had designed himself.

Roderick, a native of Novato, Calif., and a former Playboy model, played Leigh Dyer on TV's Baywatch from 2000 to 2001. She also appeared in 2004's Starsky & Hutch and will be seen in next year's The Nanny Diaries with Scarlett Johansson.

Cadrez retired from the NFL after playing 11 seasons as a linebacker for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs. Now vice president of California Police Youth Charities, he's involved in movie production and event planning. He has three daughters.

Emmy Wins Predicted for Grey's, The Office

Although FOX's 24 is up for more awards (12 in total), ABC's 11-times-nominated medical drama Grey's Anatomy is favored to win best dramatic series at Sunday's 58th annual Emmy Awards.

And should Grey's star Patrick "Dr. McDreamy" Dempsey fail to send temperatures soaring at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium, there's always host Conan O'Brien, who tells PEOPLE, "I'm gonna wear very, very tight trousers, like matador pants. That's gonna do a lot for women and a third of the men watching."

NBC will broadcast the ceremony live Sunday starting at 8 p.m. ET. The top nominees are the TNT miniseries Into the West, which garnered 16 nods, and HBO's miniseries Elizabeth I, starring Helen Mirren, which nabbed 13.

In other races to watch, TV critics are betting on The Office for best comedy and its star Steve Carrell for best comedy actor, while Lisa Kudrow is tipped by some to win best comedy actress in HBO's short-lived series The Comeback.

And while last year's big winners, ABC's Lost and Desperate Housewives, were shut out of the major races, the list of nominees features several shows that won't be back next season, including NBC's Will & Grace and The West Wing and HBO's Six Feet Under.

Sunday's ceremony will honor prolific producer Aaron Spelling, who died in June at 83 and whose decades of hits included The Mod Squad, The Love Boat, Starsky and Hutch, Dynasty and Beverly Hills, 90210. A tribute will feature cast members from his shows.

K-Fed to Make His Acting Debut on CSI

Kevin Federline, who made his nationally televised rap debut last Sunday at the Teen Choice Awards, is going for another first – his debut as a TV actor on America's top-rated drama, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

As Federline tells PEOPLE while on the set of the CBS show, "This is pretty much my first time acting. It's the first time I've actually had a speaking role." He adds that the offer came about quickly. "I was doing stuff for the Teen Choice Awards," he says, "and got the call while we were rehearsing and I pissed in my pants! I was excited right off the bat. It's the only show that I really, really watch."

Federline, 28, started shooting his part in Los Angeles on Thursday night. He will play a menacing, arrogant teen who harasses investigators Nick Stokes (George Eads) and Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) on a job. The episode is tentatively scheduled to air in October.

Fans of Federline and his wife, Britney Spears, 24, may remember their last foray into broadcast TV – their own reality show, Britney & Kevin: Chaotic, which aired on UPN in 2005. But to take on CSI, Federline will rely on his instincts. "I just read the script," he says. "They told me they wanted it to be more of a natural thing that comes to me."

Earlier in the day, the CSI producers announced another star addition to their lineup: Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter John Mayer, who will make a cameo in the two-part season premiere, airing Sept. 21 and 28. In a scene set in a Las Vegas nightclub, Mayer will sing his single "Waiting On the World to Change" and "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room," both tracks off his third studio album, Continuum.

Federline's first album, Playing with Fire, will drop in October, but he gave a glimpse of it at the Teen Choice Awards, where he performed the track "Lose Yourself." Afterward, he told PEOPLE, "I'm happy. I think I pulled if off pretty well. September 5, we're launching the video. There's a lot of good things going around here."

Conan Plans to Sex Up the Emmys

Late Night poobah Conan O'Brien, who is getting ready to host the 25th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, talks to PEOPLE about fatherhood (daughter Neve is 2 and son Beckett is 9 months), taking over Jay Leno's The Tonight Show gig (he starts in 2009) and his Emmys hosting strategy.

Will you have to tame your humor once you're on The Tonight Show?
This is the sense of humor I've been working with since the first grade. I don't think I could change if I wanted to. If I got a network note that said, "You need to become more of a cross between Charlie Rose and Dick Cavett," I'd say, "You know what? I appreciate the shot, but I gotta go."

How will you sex up the Emmys?
First of all you've got me hosting. And I'm gonna wear very, very tight trousers, like matador pants. That's gonna do a lot for women and a third of the men watching.
Is it hard working long hours now that you have kids?
It is tough. My son's still too young, but when I leave for work my daughter says, "No, Daddy, I want you to stay." (Pause) But then I just scream, "We need the money!"

                        Is your daughter funny?
She's hilarious. She’s extremely verbal. (Last year) a bug was crawling on her arm and she said, "I'm frustrated with this bug." We were like, "Whaaat? You're 1 1?2 years old!"

Days of Our Lives Stars Wed

Turns out, the second time is the charm for Days of Our Lives costars Billy Warlock and Julie Pinson.

The two were married in Las Vegas Saturday after being engaged twice, their rep has confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE. The intimate ceremony was attended by family and close friends.

The couple were originally set to marry in 1999, but broke off their engagement shortly before the wedding. They rekindled their romance last year when Warlock's character, Frankie Brady, returned to the NBC soap, on which Pinson has played Billie Reed since 2004.

At Saturday's wedding, the bride, 38, wore the original dress she had bought seven years earlier, an ivory duchess satin Vera Wang gown with pink details. The groom, 45, wore a black suit by Canali.

Warlock, who also played A.J. Quartermaine on ABC's General Hospital for several years, was previously married to All My Children actress Marcy BaywatchWalker and was briefly engaged to his costar Erika Eleniak.

Amber Valletta Out of Treatment Facility

Amber Valletta has completed a stint at The Meadows rehabilitation facility in Wickenburg, Ariz., a rep for the actress has confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE.

In a statement released through her publicist, Ame Van Iden, Valletta, 32, tells PEOPLE, "As was correctly reported earlier this week, my stay at The Meadows had nothing to do with substance abuse or addiction; I am pleased to say I have seven years' sobriety. But I continue every day to heal and grow as a person."

On Thursday, the New York Daily News reported that Valletta had sought treatment for stress and non-substance-related issues.

Valletta, an Oklahoma native, began modeling at 15 and has posed for Elizabeth Arden, Louis Vuitton and Versace, among others. From 1995 to 1996 she co-hosted MTV's House of Style with fellow supermodel Shalom Harlow.

Her first major film role was in 2000's What Lies Beneath, and she has since appeared in movies including 2005's Hitch and Transporter 2. Next year, she'll be seen in the thriller Dead Silence and the comedy My Sexiest Year.

She is married to pro volleyball player Christian "Chip" McCaw, 33; their son, Auden, is 5.

Tom Cruise got slammed last week in Australia, where he was named winner of the "Celebrity Ernie Award" for a so-called sexist comment that award organizers claim he made. Only, he didn't make it.

The comment in question – allegedly made when fiancée Katie Holmes was pregnant with their daughter Suri, now three months old – was, "I've got Katie tucked away so no one will get to us until my child is born."

The apocryphal quote was named "worst derogatory public statement" by nearly 400 of Australia's most powerful women who gathered in the New South Wales state parliament last week.

But according to Cruise's rep, the actor – who was in the news last week after parting ways with Paramount Pictures – never uttered those words or made any such remarks to that effect.

"Tom's comments that they have attributed to him are completely fabricated," his rep, Arnold Robinson, tells PEOPLE. "Anyone who knows him knows that he is a complete gentleman and would never ever say such a thing. ... He has the utmost respect for women."

Research shows that, indeed, Cruise never made such a statement.

Robinson went on to say, "His mother, his sisters, Kate and his children are the most important things in the world to him. Women have always played a positive and important role in who he is as a man."

The Ernie Awards, now in their 14th year, were named after a trade union leader called Ernie whose union members included sheep shearers. He once famously said: "Women aren't welcome in the shearing sheds. They're only after the sex."

Broderick, Bach Hurt in Riding Accidents

Two stars were injured Sunday in two separate horse-riding accidents: Matthew Broderick and former Bond girl Barbara Bach, the wife of Ringo Starr.

Broderick was on vacation in Ireland when he broke his collarbone after falling off a horse Sunday, his publicist, Simon Halls, tells the Associated Press.

The Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Producers star, 44, accompanied by wife Sarah Jessica Parker, was treated and released from a hospital the same day, Halls said.

"He's fine. He's just been in a little bit of pain," Halls tells the AP.

Meanwhile, Bach, who turned 59 on Sunday, was hospitalized with a broken leg after being kicked by a horse, said an official with the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford, 35 miles southwest of London.

She had surgery to repair her fractured right femur, the AP reports. Bach costarred with Roger Moore in 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me.
