Mel B. and Nicole Murphy Share Laughs over Lunch

Remember the adage "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Melanie Brown seems to be putting it into practice.

Scary Spice was spotted Thursday meeting up with Nicole Murphy – Eddie Murphy's ex-wife and the mother of five of his children – at Beverly Hills eatery the Ivy, where the pair laughed over bottled water and lunch.

Joining the two women were daughters Angel Iris, Brown's 4-month-old, and 5-year-old Bella Zahra, Murphy's youngest child with Nicole.

"They seemed really friendly toward one another," says an onlooker of the pair, who wore curve-hugging dresses and posed for cameras outside. "They had a pretty private meal in the back corner, away from all of us."

The lunch date came one day after Brown and her lawyer Gloria Allred held a press conference claiming that Brown's former boyfriend Murphy "has not paid one penny of child support." A DNA test in June established that the actor is the father, but "paternity has not been legally acknowledged," according to Allred.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, baby Angel was already getting to know her half-sister, and Nicole Murphy – whose divorce from the actor was finalized in April 2006 after 12 years – even comforted the crying child when mom Brown went to the restroom. She rocked Angel until Mom returned, then the two new friends continued laughing and playing with the baby.

Says an onlooker: "Right before they left, Nicole gave Melanie two kisses on the cheek."

Nicole Richie Will Do Time at Paris Hilton's Jail

Nicole Richie will serve her four-day jail sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif. – the same jail where Paris Hilton did her time.

"[Richie's] attorney contacted us and indicated she wants to do her time there," said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, adding that no surrender date was given.

Whitmore couldn't say whether Richie, who's four months pregnant, would be housed at the facility's medical ward. "That's all determined by our medical staff upon her arrival," said Whitmore.

If not in the medical facility, Richie, 25, could likely be placed in a segregated unit for high-profile inmates, as Hilton initially was, and locked up for 23 hours a day.

However, the Simple Life star may benefit from an early release policy of nonviolent offenders due to L.A.'s jail overcrowding problem.

In May 2006, because of the overcrowding, actress Michelle Rodriguez served only four hours and 20 minutes of her two-month jail sentence for violating probation stemming from a DUI arrest in Hawaii.

Richie's time stems from her arrest for DUI on Dec. 11. On Friday she pleaded guilty in the case.

On Thursday's Good Morning America, she said she hopes to change her ways for the sake of her unborn child. "I would really want to be someone my child would look up to," Richie told Diane Sawyer.

Christina Applegate's Divorce Finalized in L.A.

Christina Applegate's divorce from husband, actor Johnathon Schaech, is final, PEOPLE has confirmed.

According to papers filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, their four-year marriage is over. The decision to dissolve the union in December 2005 was mutual, according to a rep for the couple.

Schaech, 37, cited irreconcilable differences, say the court papers. He is worth about $2 million and she has accounts totaling over $6 million, but the couple did not bicker over splitting the property. According to the filings, Applegate, 35, gets both their Los Angeles homes and the Lexus. He keeps the 2001 Mercedes-Benz, but has asked for custody of his cement Buddha.

Applegate, whose credits include Married ... With Children and Anchorman, is returning to the small screen in Samantha Who? on ABC this fall.

The pair, who married in Palm Springs in October 2001, have no children.

Lindsay's Parents Working Toward Divorce Resolution

Michael and Dina Lohan – parents of troubled star Lindsay Lohan – agreed on Friday to resolve their differences and come to a satisfactory conclusion to their protracted divorce without going to trial, the estranged couple decided in a Long Island, N.Y., courtroom.

"I'm happy we're working on an agreement," said Dina Lohan, when asked how she felt about the progress.

The two have a week to reach an agreement before meeting in court again. If no agreement is met, then the case will proceed to trail, said Judge Robert Ross.

After the hearing Michael Lohan, who has not been allowed to see his three youngest children with Dina, told PEOPLE: "Dina and I are working everything out, and we will have an agreement signed by next Friday. I hope to be reunited with my children very shortly and be a part of their lives."

Prior to the proceedings, Dina was asked about her daughter, Lindsay, 21, who has been out of sight from the media since her second arrest for DUI, which took place over the July Fourth weekend.

"I speak to her all the time," Dina told PEOPLE. "She's doing wonderful." She had no comment on her daughter's next move.

The Lohans agreed to a separation in 2005. About two months ago, Dina requested that the separation be finalized with a divorce. The separation agreement called for Dina to pay Michael alimony and money from shared property, which she has not done, according to his attorney John DiMascio, Jr., who would not disclose the amounts owed.

Following the hearing, Michael disputed recent claims by Lindsay's former bodyguard, Tony Almeida, that Michael once pushed Lindsay against a car on the Long Island Expressway and called her a slut.

He also denied Almeida's claims that he and Dina allowed their famous daughter to drink during her sweet 16 party and that they her share a hotel room with then boyfriend Aaron Carter.

'Baby Spice' Emma Bunton Welcomes a Son

Emma Bunton, a.k.a. "Baby Spice," has become a mother for the first time – of a boy named Beau, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Beau, which in French means "beautiful," was born on Friday at 11:12 a.m. and weighed a healthy 7 lbs., 15oz. – the same birth weight as his father, Bunton boyfriend Jade Jones, according to Bunton's London rep, Alan Edwards.

Speaking outside London's Portland Hospital, Jones said: "He is absolutely brilliant, and both baby and Emma are doing fine. In fact Emma is tucking into some flapjacks and Coca-Cola as we speak."

The new father added, "We are both absolutely delighted and can't wait to take Beau home."

Jones, 27, is a former member of the British boy band Damage. He and Spice Girl Bunton, 31, have been together for eight years and moved into a five-bedroom home in her native north London in 2005.

Motherhood for the youngest of the reunion-bound five-piece has been difficult to achieve.

In 2000, Bunton had to have pre-cancerous cells removed from her cervix. Last year, she revealed she'd been diagnosed with endometriosis, a painful condition in which the lining of the uterus begins growing in other areas of the body, making it difficult to conceive.

Less than two months ago, Bunton told PEOPLE: "I'm getting a little feisty now that I am pregnant."

Bunton has a tattoo of "Baby" on her body but refuses to reveal its location – apart from denying she sits on it.

"I guess I will be handing over the 'Baby' tag now to a deserving little new owner," Bunton said in a statement in January, when she first announced her pregnancy.

In all, there are now seven Spice Kids: "Posh" Victoria Beckham has three sons; "Scary" Melanie Brown has two daughters; and "Ginger" Geri Halliwell has a daughter. That leaves only "Sporty" Melanie Chisholm waiting to enjoy Spice mommy hood.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Engaged?

Are congratulations again in order for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden?

After a late Friday night performance with his band Good Charlotte at the Hot 99.5 Lil' Black Dress Party hosted by Perez Hilton at the Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington, Va., Madden was walking offstage when Hot 99.5 morning show deejay Kane announced to the crowd, "He got engaged yesterday. Congratulations, Joel!"

To that, Madden quickly glanced back over his shoulder but was otherwise unresponsive as he made a hurried exit from the stage behind brother Benji.

"We heard this morning," Kane told PEOPLE following Good Charlotte's 40-minute set. Crediting he got the word from "good sources," Kane said he hadn't seen Richie since hearing the news, but added he had offered his congratulations to Madden earlier in the night. "He said, 'Thank you so much,'" recalled Kane.

"They're very excited about the baby and the wedding. They want to keep their personal life personal," he added.

That might not be so easy. On Thursday, during a visit to ABC's Live! With Regis and Kelly in New York, Madden was asked by cohost Philbin about "a little ring, or something." "I was hoping it would be a surprise, but now –" Madden responded.

While there were no sightings of Richie at the party, she and Madden, who are expecting their first child together, were spotted touring Washington, D.C., earlier in the day.

The pair, along with entourage in tow, popped into Nathans of Georgetown restaurant for a late lunch before making their way to the upscale Georgetown baby boutique Dawn Price Baby.

Britney's Former Rehab Facility Subpoenaed in Custody Fight

While Kevin Federline parties in Vegas, his defense team has struck again, delivering a subpoena to the rehabilitation facility attended by his ex Britney Spears.

According to a source familiar with the proceedings, Promises Treatment Center was served with a subpoena Saturday morning. This is the fourth subpoena doled out by the Federline team in the singer's increasingly high-profile custody battle. (Earlier in the week, Spears's former assistant Shannon Funk, bodyguard Daimon Shippen and pal Alli Sims were all served with legal papers.)

"Kevin and his attorneys Mark Vincent Kaplan and James Simon are on a mission," says the source. "They are pursuing all relevant evidence from every potential source and every available witness."

A spokesperson from Promises refused to comment, saying: "This is a confidential facility and we cannot comment."

The pop star spent a month at Promises and was released on March 21. Her manager at the time said she was "successfully" released.

According to Pepperdine University Law Professor Steven M. Cron, the Federline camp is clearly seeing how Spears took to the Promises stint.

"Strategically I don't think they are concerned with the treatment, but how she responded to that treatment," says Cron. "Specifically, if she participated as she was supposed to. Did she have a positive attitude, did she complete it successfully. Or was she a screw up?"

Vanessa Minnillo Praises Nick Lachey for Being Supportive

Vanessa Minnillo doesn't hesitate when asked what makes Nick Lachey a great boyfriend.

"He's very supportive," Minnillo told PEOPLE Wednesday following an autograph session in New Jersey to launch her makeup line, Flirt. "He's here to support me."

Of her relationship with Lachey, who attended the two-plus hour appearance but stayed out of sight, Minnillo added, "I'm very grateful."

Minnillo says that she and Nick, who in April moved in together in New York, work out together with a trainer to keep fit and healthy. "I do a lot of reps," she says. "I don't want to bulk up."

Minnillo also says she's always wanted to date a guy who would cook for her. Asked if Lachey fit that criteria, she laughed: "No, I cook. We both eat – but he cleans up."

Talking about her new makeup line, Minnillo calls the project "my baby."

"It's surreal," she continues. "I picked out every color [of the eye shadows], I mixed and picked the colors for the lip glosses."

The line, which Minnillo's makeup artist Elisa Tallerico also worked on, consists of two different palettes of eye shadows and lip gloss.

Minnillo has long been a makeup aficionado, says the star who was "about 12" when she started wearing makeup. "I had a cousin who put eyeliner on the insides of her lids, so I did it too."

But it really started even earlier than that. "When I was a kid, I went into my mom's room and put on rouge," Minnillo says. "I'd put on her high heels and walk around the house."

Nicole Richie 'Pleasantly Surprised' by Early Release

Nicole Richie was "pleasantly surprised" to be released after serving 82 minutes of her four-day jail sentence for a second DUI conviction, her lawyer said Friday.

"Nicole was aware that most people with sentences similar to hers are booked and released in a matter of hours and she was hoping to be treated like everyone else," attorney Shawn Chapman Holley said in a statement. "Nevertheless, she was prepared to serve her entire four-day sentence had the Sheriff's Department required her to do so."

On Thursday, accompanied by her boyfriend Joel Madden as well as Holley, the five-months pregnant Richie entered the jail in Lynwood, Calif., at 3:15 p.m. She was processed into the system and released at 4:37 p.m.

"Of course, she was pleasantly surprised to be released so quickly," said Holley.

Kerri Webb, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's department told PEOPLE that Richie "was released early due to overcrowding in the jail system. This is standard procedure for nonviolent offenders."

Richie, 25, who's pregnant by Madden, pleaded guilty to DUI on July 27. As part of her sentence, she also agreed to serve a three-year probation term, must enroll in an alcohol education program and was fined $2,048.

She was arrested for DUI on Dec. 11 after being spotted driving her black Mercedes SUV the wrong way on an L.A. freeway.

She was previously convicted of DUI in June 2003.

Katie Holmes and Suri's Day Trip to Paris

In years to come, Suri Cruise's first-ever Paris visit will be remembered as an introductory mix of rainy weather shopping, snacks, Mom's ruined pair of heels and a "strategic" museum nap.

Taking a day trip out of Berlin where Daddy – Tom Cruise – is filming Valkyrie, Katie Holmes brought 16-month-old daughter Suri to Paris for a whirlwind visit on Thursday.

And while the buttery croissants were a hit, the Louvre proved a little too exhausting for the younger traveler.

The mother and her drowsy daughter started out early, spending nearly an hour at Dior's main shop on Avenue Montaigne while heavy rains and fall-like weather lashed the city.

Afterwards, Suri showed considerable enthusiasm tearing into a croissant across the street, at the restaurant L'Avenue.

From there, it was on to a one-hour privately guided tour of the Louvre, where Suri seemed more interested chasing pigeons across the art museum's courtyard than in the treasures inside.

According to one eyewitness, "Suri was napping when Katie got to the Mona Lisa."

Striking out for the Rue St. Honoré, they next hit Lanvin for 90 minutes, where Katie picked up several shirts for Tom before lunch upstairs in the Laduree tearoom. Then it was off to designer John Galliano's signature boutique.

Shortly after exiting the restaurant, however, Holmes – in white heels and carrying Suri – was a victim of the slick sidewalk. "Katie slipped and fell," said a bystander. "She seemed a little shocked but protected the baby. A bodyguard started to help her up, she handed him the child first and then straightened herself out."

The observer added, "She'd scraped her knee ... Afterwards, she went into the Galliano shop for a few moments to check her knee."

Holmes cleaned up and changed shoes, according to the bystander. "When, she came out, things were fine. They went off shopping again. This time she had Suri walk, and they continued on."

Several blocks later they were at Tom & Mom's favorite infant wear boutique, Baby Tuileries. Holmes last shopped there on her husband's recommendation in October.

After a drive to the luxury Hotel George V – where Holmes changed outfits – there was time for just one more excursion to the Marais, for stops at a flower shop and a clothes boutique, before departing Paris at 7 on a private jet from Le Bourget.

Beyoncé's 'Wardrobe Malfunction' Explained

Beyoncé Knowles appeared to be the victim of a fashion foul-up during a Toronto concert the other night – but her rep tells PEOPLE that the pop star came prepared.

In a video apparently taken by a fan in the crowd, the singer, 25, had her top fly up while she was bouncing to the beat during an elaborate dance number.

But it wasn't a "flashing," says her publicist. "She's wearing a flesh-tone bra! Do you really think Beyoncé would go onstage like that?"

She adds that her mother, Tina Knowles, "is the quality-control officer" on the pop star's tour, ensuring that no wardrobe malfunctions occur onstage.

The exposure lasted all of a split second, but the clip made the celeb blog and YouTube rounds – just like last month, when Knowles suffered a different kind of stage mishap and fell down a flight of stairs during an Orlando concert.

She quickly recovered and completed her number nearly without missing a beat – before saying to the crowd good-naturedly, "Don't put it on YouTube."

Both times, the crowd failed to listen.

Hulk Hogan's Son Seriously Injured in Car Crash

Hulk Hogan's son Nick Bollea was seriously injured Sunday night after his car careened off the road and struck a palm tree.

Bollea, who was featured with the rest of his family on the pro wrestler's VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best, was driving his yellow Toyota Supra down a four-lane highway in downtown Clearwater, Fla., when the car's rear tires hit the raised median, police said. After fishtailing for several seconds, the car slammed into a 25-foot tall palm tree.

"His car inexplicably left the road," Clearwater Police spokesman Wayne Shelor tells PEOPLE, "and it was totally destroyed upon impact."

The cause of the crash is unknown, although police believe the car was traveling at a high rate of speed. "We don't know exactly what happened," says Shelor, "but we are investigating."

Bollea, 17, and his male passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle using the "jaws of life." They were placed on a Medivac helicopter where they were flown seven minutes to nearby Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.

Bollea is in serious condition, while his passenger has been listed in critical condition.

Police alerted Hulk Hogan to the accident. According to a hospital source, the wrestler and his family are in a private waiting room as Bollea is being treated for "very serious, life-threatening" injuries. Hogan declined to address the media through a hospital spokesperson on Sunday evening, but plans to make a statement on Monday morning.

Dancing with the Stars's Alec & Edyta Wed in San Francisco

Dancing with the Stars's Alec Mazo and Edyta Sliwinska were married in San Francisco on Saturday, their rep tells PEOPLE.

The Polish-born Sliwinska, 28, and the Russian-born Mazo, 29, competed on the professional Latin ballroom circuit for years before joining Dancing's first season in 2005, when Mazo captured the disco ball trophy with General Hospital star Kelly Monaco.

The couple, who had a joint bachelor and bachelorette party in Las Vegas, had wanted to marry in 2006, but their dance cards were full – literally.

"We planned on getting married last year, but with the show and then the tour back to back, we had to postpone it," Sliwinska told PEOPLE earlier this year.

This season Mazo is paired with model Josie Maran while Sliwinska, the only pro dancer to appear in all five seasons of the show, is teamed with All My Children star Cameron Mathison.

Dancing's fifth season premieres on September 24 on ABC.

Talk Show Host Byron Allen Marries TV Producer

Byron Allen, the host of talk shows Entertainers With Byron Allen and Comics Unleashed, married producer Jennifer Lucas on Saturday in Los Angeles, the couple tell PEOPLE exclusively

Allen, 46, who also hosted TV's Real People in the early 1980s, and Lucas, a producer of Comics Unleashed, were married in front of 120 friends and family, including Natalie Cole and Eddie Murphy, on a lawn at the Bel Air Hotel.

"I couldn't wait to see her walk down the aisle," says Allen of his wife, who wore a wedding gown by Carolina Herrera.

Says Lucas, "It was an intimate and meaningful ceremony to mark the beginning of the rest of our lives."

A reception followed at the hotel's ballroom, where wedding planner Mindy Weiss had created a red-themed reception with thousands of red roses.

The dessert was a five-tiered cake with two flavors – vanilla cake with dark chocolate filling and dark chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling – by Cake Divas.

The couple met in April 2001 and were engaged in December 2006 in Maui.

"He's my best friend," says Lucas. "He makes me laugh and he's the smartest man I've ever met. We can't wait to have a family."

Adds Allen: "She's magnificent and I'm very lucky."

Usher & Tameka Foster Finally Get a Wedding

After a quiet civil ceremony, Usher and Tameka Foster at last pulled off their dream wedding in Atlanta on Saturday.

"I'm thrilled that this is finally happening," said one guest, who watched the couple exchange vows in front of about 200 people at the luxurious Chateau Elan Winery & Resort, a 16th-century-style French chateau set on 3,500 acres of rolling hills outside Atlanta. "It was a long time coming, and I can't think of any two people who deserve happiness more than they do."

Among the guests were Oprah Winfrey's pal Gayle King and music manager Benny Medina.

Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton, who has reportedly clashed with Foster, did not attend.

The guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner inside the resort's ballroom. Dessert was a five-tiered white chocolate-covered wedding cake with handmade flowers by Napa's Perfect Endings, who recently did Eva Longoria's wedding cake.

"They are in love and they wanted this to be perfect," says another guest of the event, planned by wedding planner Diann Valentine. "They had their reasons for not getting married (before), and that's their own business. Now they could get things done the way they wanted to, their family and friends can be here now."

The couple originally planned to tie the knot at a lavish no-expenses-spared event at music mogul L.A. Reid's Sagaponack, N.Y., home, but the ceremony was postponed at the last minute.

The civil ceremony between Usher (full name: Usher Raymond), 28, and Foster, 37, was reportedly held in his lawyer's office Aug. 3. The couple are expecting their first child this fall. This is Usher's first marriage, Foster's second.
