    Woman Of The Year 2007

Former ‘Spice Girl’ Victoria Beckham was crowned Britain’s First Lady at the Glamour Women Of The Year awards in London on Tuesday night.

The wife of ace footballer and former England captain, David Beckham, was conferred two gongs at the ceremony— Entrepreneur Of The Year Award for her business work and the night’s Woman Of The Year Award.

She was dressed cap-a-pie in Chanel outfit designed by Karl Lagerfeld, and made a royal entrance to the bash in tiny sequined black hotpants, a revealing bustier, and matching gloves.

Victoria said that she was unconcerned by the ongoing rumblings about her suitability if footballer husband David was knighted.

“Who cares if I’m not posh enough. All I care about is that Karl Lagerfeld said I’m cool — and he’s the man,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

It was in recognition of Victoria’s role in establishing Brand Beckham in the US ahead her husband’s move to football team LA Galaxy that she was rewarded. She has also seen her fashion and perfume range fly off shelves, and her second book ‘That Extra Half An Inch’ was a best-seller.

“In my years as a Spice Girl I won loads of awards but I haven’t had many since,” she said while accepting the Entrepreneur gong.

She also thanked her husband and said, “Sorry David couldn’t be here but he’s playing for England.”

    All the night's winners:

Woman of the year: Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham was last night named Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year – and what a year it has been.

New haircuts, an ever-shrinking waistband, celebrity weddings and the trauma of finding a £10million home in Beverly Hills.

Posh Spice, 33 also picked up the award for Entrepreneur of the Year and was hailed as 'a role model for achieving it all' at the awards in London.

Glamour editor Jo Elvin did not hold back in praising Posh. She said: 'For the past ten years, Victoria Beckham has been a figure of fascination. She has successfully reinvented herself from pop star to devoted wife and mother, to successful designer and business mogul.

'She is indicative of the modern woman, successfully juggling the work/home-life balance, and is a role model in terms of achieving it all.'

As Beckham's dress size gets smaller, her business empire gets bigger and includes jeans, perfume, jewellery and a TV show.

She said: 'I don't feel the need to be famous any more but fame has given me the tools to do what I really love. Whether it's perfume, sunglasses, jeans – I enjoy all of them.'

had her head in the clouds this week as she clocked up 3.78tonnes of C02. She jetted to the Glamour awards from LA, where she was a star guest at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

Sienna Miller, usually more famous for her boyfriends than films, picked up the film actress of the year trophy.

And pregnant Charlotte Church took home the TV personality of the year title.
