Im teaching myself how to read and write Farsi properly.
Im quite advanced for someone who has never been to Iran or to any Iranian school - I can read and write pretty well.
I know the alphabet but this is my only problem - sometimes I don’t use the letters at the correct time.
e.g. if I have only heard the word “daagh” (and not seen its spelling) I would write it with "ghaaf" instead of "ghayn"
What I have done so far to improve my reading and writing skills:
What else can I do? Im desperate and will do anything …
PLEASE HELP AN IRANIAN GIRL KEEP HER HERITAGE !!
please post ANY suggestions, however stupid they may be... i dont care
Are there any good websites?
Please no suggestions asking me to go to my parents - my mum isnt interested and only ever says "vaay, vala velom bokon" when i ask her and i dont live with my dad... Im proud to be Persian & my culture is important to me - im doing this for my future children
Please help me

What I have done so far to improve my reading and writing skills:
- Have got those iranian books (the "Baba aab daad" series).
- Have bought a Farsi phrase book and use it to memorise words
- Send letters to family in iran, dubai
- Buy Iranian newspapers from magazines and read articles (so that i get used to the words) even though it takes me half an hour
- (Slowly) read RedWine’s articles on Tapesh.com
