well there are other animals that represent the night like bats, but an owl is more fitting since an owl is an intelligent animal who is very perceptive of what goes on in its surroundings.

if you were an owl, what kind of owl would you be?

hmmmm!.. tanx dear friends for the attention and comments. It is nice to read different definations for an Owl.

      I choosed this handle to express myself both guantitative and qualitative, but how?;

1- animal: because what I experience as an Iranian in exile is that the world around me feels to be like a jungle, with lots of wolfs and foxes and dogs and mice, and rabbits, and ... donkeys!, sheeps! and lots of caws in variety of models and sizes.....

2- a bird: because I am free to fly, to go anywhere I like, but I won't, I am stuck on a tree, in the jungle, I just hunt rabbits for food and chase little fat foxes for fun..!! my favorite appetizer is the eyes of sleepy wolfs and hyenas

3- an Owl in the night: because I love to shout my self out and interrupt the sweet dreams of dreamers. Not only a roaster who shout the dawn, but an owl who start to shout just when your eyes gets warm to sleep deep in your warm bed. sorry it is wake-up time,.. no time to sleep. if you sleep tonight, I am not sure that you ever wake up alive in the morning...!

4- Night: night symbolizes the darkness, and so represents what is going on in my loving land (Iran). The attractive, flashy and colorfull neon lights of the this desert called ''west'' never fills or fools my eyes. I long that beautiful garden, .... ..that sign of paradise.

5- I am a NightOwl because at the day time my world is full of different types of Hyenas and wild-dogs who actually eat and suck what is left from me and the ''Lion'' from and since Last Night. I see their shadows under my tree, waiting for me to FALL. I won't fall, oh never, I shall not fall. My dead body will freeze up here this tree, but I never fall.

Do I have hope to watch the glory of Dawn before I die? No, not at all, not because I am pesimist or dark in soul, but because my love is unconditional, I love freedom for freedom, even if I won't gain it for myself. I shout so loud from my bleeding throat that it will stretch its echo through the noght for the flowers of tomorow, the beautiful flowers of the most beautiful garden of the world, the sample of paradise, IRAN

      Peace

Thanks Golgol85 for the complement, but remember, this way of thinking is a dangerous one. There are many other ways which end to a rest place, with lots of neon light s and may be a cold coca cola too.

I know the way I've chosen to go in my life will not take me to a pleasent destiney. I know that for sure.

              Peace.
              YOU! Wake up.

The road less traveled is a dangerous one, but it is more rewarding too. There may not be a paved road or lights to guide your way, but when you get to the end of it you have truely accomplished something that most other people have not. At the end of this road there may be a cold coca cola too.

what you say in the end sounds dark. If you arent happy with the way you have chosen its never too late to change it. I would hate for you to think you will not have a pleasant destiny at the end of the road you have chosen since that eliminates all hope of a worthwhile path. If there is anything I can do to make the road shiney and bright, let me know.

Dear golgol85. You sound to be a very kind and caring person, who offers a stranger a hand to avoid his conscious chosen unpleasant destiny. However, I have to clarify some points to avoid misunderstanding

1-The things which I call it unpleasant, may be pleasant for others.
2- When I make a choice in full consciousness, it means I both accept and am responsible for its consequences too.
3- Even though our choices could be conscious, it does not necessary means that they are made by free will.

As you might be agree with me the understanding of life is based on recognition of its contrasts. The expected unpleasant destiny of my life has its contrast too, which in this case is being ''walking tall man'', not to bend for the cruel and not to shut up against unjust.

So, althoug i might be sad but definately not sorry, (a combination of which has given me a calm personality) and in fact I am proud that up to this date I stand on my chosen values and principles which I believe on.

I wish I could go in more detail but a public medium is not the right place for this.

                  Sar boland bashi

Another deep thinker among us. Bayad begam javabe kheili gheireh montazerei nadadi. Bishtare adama doost daran ke rajebe sakhtihaye zendegishoon sohbat nakonan, in yek chize kamelan normaliyeh. Doost daran bayan konan ke sakhti vojood dareh, vali chegoonegiyeh sakhti ro bayan nemikonan. Raast ham migi, har kasi sakhti ro toyeh chizaye mokhtalef mibineh. Zendegi kolan sakhte, ageh asoon bood hoselamoon sar miraft. As my sister puts it: "Life is tough, get a helmet." I can see that you already have a helmet, as you have explained to yourself and to me that you have accepted the choices you have made, regardless of whether you made them of free will. If you want to talk about it, feel free to pm me.
