To get an STD requires direct contact; that means that not only do you have to have an open cut but the other person also has to have an open cut. Those open cuts also have to be in DIRECT contact with one another to allow the transfer of such a disease. STDs are sexually transmitted diseases, meaning they are only transmitted during sexual activity. There is almost no possible way to get an STD from just kissing mouth to mouth! The small cuts in your mouth are often too small to allow enough transfer of any kind of disease. And the likelihood that there would be any direct contact between open cuts is too small to even be considered. The only case I know of in which a person got an STD through kissing was 1 who got AIDS. I doubt , however, that it was only through kissing. And when you consider the number of cases of AIDS in the US< let alone the world, annually that figure is insignificant.
Basically, you cannot get STDs from just kissing. If you want more info ask you doctor.
