How does divorce is taken in Iranian society? Is't a very normal thing, here in india we have a saying "Even if he is a stone or a grass he is still husband"(literal translation) meaning a woman have to stay with her husband how much bad he is. Even though it is changing for past 5 to 10 years divorce is still a big taboo here. Was wondering how Iranians take divorces, I know Islam supports divorce for both women and men.

Thats awful! There is much abuse and voilence in these situations where the woman has to suffer. How is that a 'normal thing'? its disgraceful. Most marriages in India are arranged, as far as im aware. Arranged marriages aren't always the best, they are just forcing two people to 'fall in love' when actually, neither the man nor woman may have such feelings for the other. so divorce should be perfectly fine in those cultures. Surely this may also affect the children - if they are grown up with the parents showing false affections and emotions.

Actually in Iran we have somewhat a same saying that says "shohar shohare-h khob ya bad"... and yes some middle and lower class (socioeconomically) still have the same ritual and traditions like dowry and so on so forth and divorce is a big deal and it is frawned upon quiest often.
The brand of Islam in Iran is not really Islam...shhhhhh don't tell anyone though.., so a lot of cockamamie laws they make is not worth a dime to even discuss it.
The virginity issue is still pretty strong in Iran..

Psssst, indy jaan I have been married 3 times but not divorced 3 times...2 died and the 3rd one got away...

everybody's virgin (wellllll I mean at some point) loooooool

guys don't get off topic, but you shouldn't judge people based on their virginity at all, but some have their own personal preferences and they prefer to have a virgin maybe because of religion or because of family or mostly GHEIRAT o GHOROOR (which I got some myself :P)

so there is no personality difference between the two V or none V

peoples HEART have to VIRGIN and CLEAN

a guy can only demand that his future wife has to be a virgin IF he is a virgin too!! otherwise its very very very unfair!!
