If one can find someone from the same culture it would be most ideal, if other things match as well. Sometimes, you may find someone from another culture you feel much closer to, and that will work too but you may miss some things It would be so much nicer if the two can be from same country and culture .... feeling of belonging to the same family (a nation is an extended family of sorts) is so much better

some people are far less into sticking to their own culture, and that is partly because of stereotypes etc. but i guess everyone also has different taste, also depends a lot on upbringing etc, but if you add bad experiences like bjorn's girlfriend (the guy cheating on her), it can falsely perpetuate the generalization.

personally it seems to me, for example, that there is less of a "cheating" culture in Iranians. so many of us just get married and live happy ever after. yet so many of my non-Iranian friends are into more advanced really deceptive and consistent cheating.
