I love her singing - she's the most talented of all Persian vocalists, even though she lives only in our memory. The good die young. 42 is young.
I secretly copy her, singing her songs in the mirror, but nobody could ever pretend to copy her.
I once saw her Mahasti perform and she was wonderful, even though I didn't have a close-up seat.
Ramesh was the singer at my aroos and is still a top-notch singer technically. She does a great job with her album of the Sufi poet, Rumi.
Still, for passion, Heyedeh sings with a heart larger than an armful of Golhah-ye-sorkh.
My friends saw Googoosh sing in our Hummingbird Center in Toronto and were given gol-e-surgh, each one of them. She is charismatic and appealing as a popular singer devoted to carrying on the magic and beauty of Persian culture but, again, she doesn't sing with the passion only Hayedeh possessed, as if she had been born from the ancient fires of Zoroastrian worship - with all due respect to all parties.
Thank you for letting me be part of this forum and giving me freedom to express my love for her and my opinions.
