Iran government uses American filtering software
According to Reza Parsa, director of ISP association, Data Communication Company of Iran (DCI), which is officially in charge of data infrastructure in Iran, now uses a US made software, named SmartFilter, to censor 'inappropriate' websites.

He added that Iranian-made filtering applications do not have the quality of 'foreign-made' software's and most major ISPs (Internet Connection providers or ICP) use the latter type of software. He also said that 80% of ISPs rely on DCI and ICPs for filtering.

Why keep such a regime? Iranians are one of the brightest ppls in the world. Yet their country is in such a state. Trust me, I live in the US and ppl here are not too bright. Yet these mullahs dont allow anyone to breathe. I mean you practically have to be seyyed to be anyone in politics over in Iran. Which is a disgrace in a non-arab country. If Iran where to be lead under a capable regime it may flourish. Another thing that ticks me off are those ppl who look to the US for help. The US govt is not concerned about helping nations. Its main goal is self-preservation. If Iranians want a great nation the impetus for change must come from within. Don't forget the west was responsible for kicking out Reza Pahlavi, then when Mossadegh came to power as a nationalist Iranian they called him communist and the US kicked him out too. They only supported Mohammed Reaz Pahlavi as Shah to get oil and control of the region.
