I agree that Hamas doesn't want to totally take away the violent threat. But Palestinians are by far the underdogs that can truly be destroyed while Israel is not going to be seriously damaged by recognizing Hamas, so Hamas and Palestinians in general have a greater right to be skeptical and conservative in comparison to Israel. It's common sense.

Mike, I hope you don't feel isolated here. I personally dont think Jews are the only cause of all the problems in the world. They are making some big bad moves perhaps such as joining up with neo-cons in the US and making double standards unnecessarily, inciting conflict, in the Middle East.

Also, the sectarian violence in Iraq for example may have been incited by neo-cons through strategic policy to prolong their mission there. At the very least, it's an open question. It is even likely that neo-cons profitted from the strategic geopolitical position of Israel to invade Iraq. Last, with regard to global politics in general, I think the Israel-Palestinian issue has a big impact and is leading the world by example. So though Jews are not evil, they may be sometimes purposefully sometimes inadvertantly having a big negative impact. Part of the problem is the phobia Jews have to Muslims even though they have invaded a Muslim country and are neighbors with Muslims. And even though if you look through history, Muslims were much more humane towards Jews than Christians were. Yet, Jews criticize Muslims and not Christians for their problems. That's clearly misplaced.

I think one of the reasons we havent gotten anywhere is because we arent willing to stop jabbing at eachother. Iranians like to blame everything on Jews, whether this is true or not lets not argue about that. Talk about what you feel the Jews or the Muslims are doing now.

Israel will be stuck in this situation unless it decides to compromise with the Palestinians. Look, I am sure the Palestinians hate Hamas for putting them in this situation where they have women, men, children, husbands, wives, all getting killed. Its the clasisc anything Hamas has done Israel has done better (but better in this sense means it has done worse, its has killed more, hurt more). How can Israel atone? By helping stop the war between the Isrealis and the Palestinians.
