Iran's biggest carmaker, Iran Khodro unveiled its second home-made brand named Runna.

The car made under euro 5 standards will be exported, said Runna project manager Mohammadi adding the new brand meets EEC and ECE standards.

The car also observes safety requirements for pedestrian and incase of an accident the pedestrian would be least hit.

1600 cc engine for national and international markets as well as diesel engine are among other options for the new car.

He then said the new car includes two models; the first one with ABS brake, air conditioner, hydraulic wheel and driver air bag while the second model also involves passenger air bag.

West Asia, Middle East, Russia and the Commonwealth are among markets for the new all-Iranian car. Iran also wants to launch production of the car through its sites in countries including Syria, Venezuela, Azerbaijan and in the near future in China.

Iran Khodro is going to use TU5 1600 cc engine or gas-fueled ones with 1700 cc in the car.

The Iranian factory is also to use diesel engine for the car, but due to high sulphur and lack of good quality in national gas oil, this type would be used only for export.

Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) has introduced the third all-Iranian car, named Runna, in a ceremony attended by state and automotive industry officials.

The compact car, affordable to Iranian families, has been designed and manufactured by the giant automaker. Runna is scheduled to hit markets by March 2010.

The automaker claims the car meets Euro IV and V standards which deal with air pollution and the Pedestrian Impact safety requirement.

Runna comes with an efficient 1.6-liter engine in its launch.

SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes with EBA & EBD, power steering, and power windows & side-view mirrors are some of equipment available to Runna owners.

Iran's second largest car-manufacturer, SAIPA, showcased a second all-Iranian passenger car called 'Miniature' in a ceremony attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday 18, 2009.

The second all-Iranian car, named Runna, was unveiled here on Saturday in a ceremony attended by high-ranking officials and senior managers of Iran’s automotive industry.

Iran Khodro Company has designed and manufactured the car and owns its intellectual property, reported the Mehr News Agency.

The car meets Euro IV and V standards related to air pollution as well as the Pedestrian Impact safety requirement. It falls within the class C sedans category which are affordable for the average Iranian families.

Runna is scheduled to hit markets by March 2010.

Last year, the other Iranian carmaker SAIPA rolled out the first all-Iranian car given the name Miniator
