The Asian heavyweight Iran snatched seven colorful medals in seven weight categories, overpowering runner-up Japan and third-placed South Korea.
Iran took three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
In the 15th Asian Greco-Roman bouts ended in China Wednesday, the country ranked sixth.
The Iranian team won one gold and two bronze medals, following champion South Korea, runner-up Kazakhstan, and third- to fifth-placed Japan, China, and Kyrgyzstan on 40 points.
Korea, Kazakhstan, and Japan bagged 55, 51, 51 points.
Iran’s three medals came as Ali Ashkani stood top in 60kg and Massud Hashemzadeh and Sajjad Barzi finished third in 96 and 120kg respectively.
