Got another Israeli one for you.

This one is a little different. Sung by Gad Elbaz (I've posted some songs of his in this thread), this is his version of a prayer that is said to bless anyone who is sick. The prayer is called Mi Shebereh (the One who blessed). It asks that the One who blessed our ancestors to bring about a complete healing for the person for whom the blessing is said. I am not sure for whom this particular blessing is said. I think I know but maybe someone who speaks Hebrew can tell me. I think it's quite beautiful...

For anyone worried about listening to what's in it (because it's a Jewish prayer), the English translation goes something like this (the prayer is not always said exactly the same way every time, but this is the gist of it):

Mi Sheberach
May the One who blessed our ancestors, Sarah and Abraham, Rebecca and Isaac, Leah, Rachel and Jacob bless (insert name here) along with all of the ill among us. Grant insight to those who bring healing, courage and faith to those who are sick, love and strength to us and to all who love them. God, let your spirit rest upon all who are ill and comfort them. May they and we soon know a time of complete healing, a healing of the body and a healing of the spirit and let us say: Amen.

Sorry I've taken so long to reply to this. Sorry, no Palestinian music although I do have aa few songs from mixed Israeli/Palestinian musicians - Youval Ron Ensemble and Sheva (two of whom live in my area in Australia).

I have tons of Lebanese music, if that's of any interest.

I've heard Arabic singers from Saudi, Egypt, Syria and Morocco. And I'm told one Israeli performer sings Arabic music with a Palestinian accent (if there is such a thing). Love the Moroccan music! I think I know 3 Moroccan singers who all have "Cheb" as their first name! <lool>
