Long distance relationships

i thought it would easier than it has been so far. i was living in atlanta near my boyfriend, which everyone knows about...and now i am in virginia which is 8 hours away. we are trying to do this but really i want commitment if this going to work. we have been together over 2 years so it's time for him to make a move or dont. he says we have to wait til i finish pharmacy school inshaAllah in 4 years..now that i am here, it's hard to do this long distance thing. we can see each other maybe every 2 months and i dotn know how that will work for FOUR YEARS. anywyas, it can work but i heard only if there is an engagemnt or commitment but not just if you are still trying to figure out stuff.
it's a headache too b/c the phone is it and you have no idea what the other person is thinking or doing on the phone! i will see how long we can..but it's hard.
any advice..though all of you have given me so much lol

yeah..i don't believe in the long distance relationship because you are just fooling your self or your just throwing your self in a whole...you will like that person but it is distance relationship and i think that it is almost impossible to trust the person because you don't really know what they are doing even they say that they are not cheating on your or anything..
it is just no right

i think it will work if ure both 110% committed to eachother and feel completely the same way about one another! otherwise its just a waste of time if effort is being put from one person and only half of that effort or less is given in return !

I think long distance relationships can work. But it's not just a one person job. Both people have to commit, like sahar said. I'm in a long distance relationship now. It's hard but we keep in touch every chance we get. and if we get a free moment we go and see each other. I think it depends on the person and how much you are willing to commit.
