Zac Hanson to Marry Longtime Girlfriend

Zac Hanson of pop group Hanson will marry longtime girlfriend, Kate Tucker, on Saturday in Atlanta, according to the group's publicist, Katie McNeil.

"The couple is planning an intimate ceremony with close family and friends," McNeil informed the Associated Press.

The bride, 22, and groom, 20, have been going together for five years

Hanson brothers Isaac (now 25), Taylor (23) and Zac were virtually unavoidable during the summer of 1997, thanks to their infectious pop single, "MMMBop." But after some growing pains – both pubescent and professional – the boys-to-men returned in 2004 for a Carnegie Hall concert that was part of a three-month international acoustic tour to support the release of their CD "Underneath."

At the time, PEOPLE asked Zac about his girlfriend and he answered, "I will only say she is beautiful and amazing and I'm very lucky," prompting brother Taylor to interject: "Ah, he will get kudos." Added Zac: "If you put that in your article, I will get kudos."

Taylor is also the other married Hanson. He and wife Natalie have a son, Jordan Ezra, 3, and a daughter Penelope Anne, 1.

            Casey Affleck, Summer Phoenix Wed

Actor Casey Affleck and his girlfriend of six years, Summer Phoenix, got married over the weekend, PEOPLE has learned.

Affleck, 30, is the younger brother of Ben Affleck; Phoenix, 28, is the younger sister of actors Joaquin and the late River Phoenix.

The couple first met through Joaquin Phoenix, Affleck's good friend since they costarred in 1995's To Die For. They became engaged in New York City over the 2003 Christmas holidays. Their son, Indiana August, was born May 31, 2004, in Amsterdam.

Affleck and Phoenix are both passionate about politics, animal rights and veganism. "He is a bleeding heart," Phoenix told Boston magazine of her then-fiancé. "He is the most generous guy I have ever met."
Affleck is currently filming the movie Gone, Baby, Gone, brother Ben's directorial debut. He also starred with Ben's best friend, Matt Damon, in the Ocean's 11 movies and Gus Van Sandt's 2002 drama, Gerry.

Phoenix has appeared on ER and in the HBO docudrama The Laramie Project, as well as in such films as 1998's The Faculty and SLC Punk!

Lucky Break for Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn

Forget Gigli. Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn's offscreen romance – and their movie's bad reviews – didn't stop audiences from making The Break-Up a hit.

The movie racked up an estimated $38.1 million in ticket sales this weekend, beating last week's blockbuster X-Men: The Last Stand ($34.4 million). It also had the third best opening ever for a comedy, topped only by last year's Hitch ($43.1 million) and 2004's 50 First Dates ($40 million).

Although high-profile hookups don't guarantee box-office success, Aniston and Vaughn – unlike Gigli's Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck – have been low-key about their relationship.

When the movie premiered in Los Angeles on May 22, Aniston walked the red carpet a good five minutes before Vaughn, and the pair never got within 25 feet of each other.

And a week later, when they moved on to Vaughn's hometown of Chicago for the premiere there, the two even stayed in separate hotels – leading some to suspect a real-life break-up. But after the movie's fete, the pair hit hot spot Cabaret together for '80s tunes and take-out pizza, PEOPLE reports in its current issue.

Even more telling? On May 30 the two spent an hour inside Chicago's Palmolive Building, where they are rumored to be buying the penthouse condo. (Reps had no comment.)

They also cuddled at a Cubs game – where Vaughn led all of Wrigley Field in a sing-along of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

Another factor contributing to the success of The Break-Up may be its title: Aniston filmed the movie just after her 2005 split from husband Brad Pitt, who last week welcomed a new baby with Angelina Jolie.

Aniston said at a press junket for the film that when she initially received the script, "At first, I was, 'Hmmm.' I thought my agent was kidding. Mean joke. But it was like, wow, there is a reason this is coming to me right now. But it will have to be done in a way that is as truthful as we can be to tell the right story."

                McCartneys Deny Custody Report

Despite a U.S. television report, Heather Mills McCartney has not gained full custody of Beatrice, her 2-year-old daughter with estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney, reps for both Heather and Sir Paul tell PEOPLE.

The TV show Extra reported Tuesday that Michele Elyzabeth, described as Heather's publicist, said Heather had gone to court in London on Friday and received an order granting her full custody, with visitation rights for Sir Paul.

Sir Paul's U.K. publicist, Stuart Bell, tells PEOPLE the claim is "total rubbish."

And Heather's U.K. rep, Anya Noakes, tells PEOPLE, "Michele is Heather's U.S.-based publicist and a friend of hers, but I have absolutely no idea why she would have said this as no decisions have been made about custody of Beatrice."

(Noakes also said that reports that Heather will appear on Larry King Live were "not true – no plans at all.")

Last week, Sir Paul disputed another report regarding custody of Beatrice. In a June 1 posting on his Web site, he wrote: "I continue to be dismayed by inaccuracies in the media. I have seen the story in Hello magazine regarding custody arrangements for Heather's and my daughter, Beatrice, which is simply not true. We both have agreed to work at all times in Beatrice's best interest, but no decisions have been made yet."

In May, Heather, 38, and Sir Paul, who turns 64 on June 18, announced their split after nearly four years of marriage.

No matter what, McCartney's longtime friend and former John Lennon girlfriend May Pang tells PEOPLE, "This separation will not stop Paul from being a good father, as he has always been."

                  Katharine Signs Record Deal

Two weeks after the American Idol season finale, runner-up Katharine McPhee has signed a record deal with Clive Davis, the famed music mogul who also jump-started careers for Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston and others.

The deal, announced Tuesday, is in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller.

McPhee's versions of "Over the Rainbow" and "My Destiny" will be released in stores and through digital outlets on June 27.

Speaking to PEOPLE as the Idol season ended, Davis said of McPhee, 22: "My first task is going to be to sit down with her and see what her vision is for herself. … She is a pop singer. There is no question. Our task will be to find hits for her that fit her like a glove and can be hits on today's radio. That is the challenge and the task that lies in front of us."

McPhee, who has been singing since she was 2, lives in Sherman Oaks, Calif., and has said she hopes eventually to do movies as well as musical theater.

A week ago, the show's first-place winner, 29-year-old Alabama crooner Taylor Hicks, announced a similar deal with 19 Recordings Unlimited and Davis, who will oversee Hicks's first album. Hicks's versions of the original song "Do I Make You Proud?" and the Doobie Brothers' "Takin' It to the Streets" will be released on June 13, with a full-length album due later this year.

Average Joe's Adam Mesh Gets Married

Former Average Joe star Adam Mesh married girlfriend Jessica Malca on May 28, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The Sunday evening nuptials took place before 270 guests at Temple Beth-David, one of the oldest temples in Miami, Fla. – the bride's hometown.

According to Mesh, the highlight of the evening was doing the traditional horah dance with friends and family. "We had an extra long one and it was so much fun," adds Malca. "Basically, having everybody together in the same spot was great."

Mesh, 30, who starred in the original Average Joe and its sequel, Average Joe: Adam Returns, proposed to Malca, 25, last summer.

"I wanted there to be an element of surprise," he told PEOPLE at the time. So he brought Malca to a theater and arranged for a private screening of a film showing highlights of their time together before he popped the question.

Mesh met Malca in 2004 after his relationship with Adam Returns winner Samantha Trenk fizzled. Malca was literally the girl next door: She lived in his New York City apartment building. "My roommate (spotted her), and he was like, 'That girl is so for you,'" Mesh told PEOPLE.

Of finding love the old-fashioned way after trying the reality-TV route, Mesh said, "It's nice to be with a real girl who likes me for who I am. I'm really happy."

They couple are currently honeymooning in Hawaii for two weeks.

Charlie Must Keep Away from Denise

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards have extended the restraining order that requires Sheen to stay away from Richards and their two daughters, the Associated Press reports.

Neither actor was present in the Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday when their lawyers agreed to extend the order, which Richards won in April, through June 28.

Sheen, 40, must stay at least 300 yards from Richards, 35, and their daughters Sam, 2, and Lola, 1, except for supervised visits with the children.

On April 21, Richards filed paperwork in Los Angeles Superior Court that claimed Sheen had threatened to kill her. In the 17-page filing, Richards also detailed Sheen's alleged abuse of prescription medication, violent mood swings, compulsive gambling and use of pornography.

In a statement issued by her rep that day, Richards said, "I am disappointed that the situation has deteriorated to the point that it has become necessary to seek the assistance of the court. However, my primary concern is and always has been the welfare of the children and this action today was taken to ensure their safety as well as mine."

In a statement of his own, Sheen called the allegations "a most obvious immature and transparent smear campaign designed to hurt, embarrass and ultimately extort me."

Richards originally filed for divorce in March 2005, when she was six months pregnant with Lola. The pair appeared to briefly reconcile after Lola's birth in June, but on Jan. 4, they requested that their divorce proceed with a private arbitrator.

Last month they agreed to a temporary child-custody arrangement, with Sheen allowed weekly supervised visits with Sam and Lola, and appeared to be trying to settle their divorce amicably.

"(We) hope to resolve this matter outside of the public forum and will both continue to make every effort in this regard," they said in a joint statement.

Dancing Star John O'Hurley, Wife Expecting

Dancing with the Stars season-one breakout star John O'Hurley and his wife, Lisa, are expecting a baby.

The child, which is due in December, will be the first for the 51-year-old actor and the former Lisa Mesloh, 34, a marketing-company owner. "This is going to be the most extraordinary experience," O'Hurley tells PEOPLE.

The news may have O'Hurley hopping on the furniture: In December, he told PEOPLE, "Finding out my wife was pregnant would make me jump (on a couch). We've only been married a year and a half, and our next step is to have a child."

The couple wed on Aug. 14, 2004, at Santa Barbara's Bacara resort, and hoped for a baby from the start. After the wedding, O'Hurley told PEOPLE, "I'm convinced it'll be a girl. We're going to name her Annie." And if it's a boy? Vowed O'Hurley, who played catalog king J. Peterman on Seinfeld: "We're going to name him Neiman Marcus!"

O'Hurley came in second to General Hospital's Kelly Monaco in last year's Dancing with the Stars – but later won a viewer-decided rematch. He joined the cast of Broadway's Chicago in January.

In November, O'Hurley told PEOPLE that starring on the show added spice to his marriage: "My wife thinks I'm a rock star! It's brought so much joy to our lives. I know when we're 80, we'll be that couple on the cruise ship with this neat little fox trot, and it will be as smooth and as elegant as the first time we did it."

                          Loretta Lynn Breaks Shoulder

Loretta Lynn broke her shoulder in a fall at her Hurricane Mills, Tenn., home on Sunday, her rep said Wednesday.

Lynn, 71, is scheduled to have shoulder replacement surgery Thursday at a Nashville hospital and then head home to recuperate, the Associated Press reports.

The injury forced to Lynn to cancel nine summer concerts in June and July, all of which will be rescheduled, according to the singer's Web site.

Lynn emerged on the country-music scene in 1961 with her first single, "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl." She had a string of hits through the years, including "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)," "Fist City" and the autobiographical single, "Coal Miner's Daughter" (also the title of her best-selling autobiography and Oscar-winning biopic starring Sissy Spacek).

Lynn recently released the album Van Lear Rose, produced by the White Stripes' Jack White.

Last year, she was forced to cancel a pair of concerts in Oklahoma and Texas due to a back injury.

Pitt: Shiloh's Birth Was 'Truly Peaceful'

Brad Pitt described the birth of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt as "truly peaceful" in his first broadcast interview with Angelina Jolie since the couple welcomed their daughter on May 27.

In the interview, which was conducted by the Namibian Broadcasting Corp., the couple sat together and spoke about their experience in the African country where their daughter was born.

"I'd just like to thank the people of Namibia," Pitt said, according to an excerpt from AP Television News. "They've been so gracious and made our stay here very special, and because of that we've had an incredible time with our family exploring the country, and (had) a truly peaceful birth of our daughter."

Jolie, wearing a black dress, called their visit "an amazing adventure."
We just love this part of the world," she added.

On Wednesday, Pitt, 42, and Jolie, 31, told a news conference for local journalists that they have no immediate plans to wed.

"There is nothing in the air. The focus is the kids, and we are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together," Jolie said at a hotel in the coastal town of Swakopmund. "So that kind of says it for us, and to have a ceremony on top of it is nothing."

Jolie also said that she and Pitt had wanted to find a place where they could spend some special time with their kids, Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1. "We both had traveled to Africa and loved this part of the world."

The couple said they'd come to Namibia specifically for the birth of their child. "People were shocked that we chose to come here, and they thought we were putting our child's life in danger," said Jolie. "But we did our homework about Namibia. We want to tell the world how magnificent this country and the people are."

Added Pitt, "We had top-notch medical care. We could not have received better medical care even in America."

Pitt also said the family planned to leave in a few days so that he could begin filming Ocean's Thirteen.

Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey Couple Up

First came the sightings, then the rumors. Now a source close to the two finally confirms it: Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy are indeed a couple.

"They are very happy," the source tells PEOPLE.

But even though the pair was spotted at an L.A. restaurant last month, don’t think they’re going public. When McCarthy, 33, was asked recently on The View if she was dating a "well-known comedian who makes funny faces," she replied, “No comment. Does that ever work?"

Rumors that the two were an item have been percolating since late last year. When asked by PEOPLE at the December premiere of Fun With Dick and Jane whether he was seeing McCarthy, Carrey, 44, paused before saying: "I like her, she's a nice person."

Reps for both stars declined to comment.

McCarthy divorced her husband of five years, director John Asher, last year. She is currently promoting her newest book, Life Laughs: The Naked Truth About Motherhood, Marriage and Moving On.

                                Meet Britney's New Bodyguard

Britney Spears has been spotted around Los Angeles lately with a new companion: A sandy-haired hunk who's been described as her male nanny, or "manny."

In fact, he's her new bodyguard, PEOPLE reports in its new issue. Perry Taylor is a 28-year-old U.S. Naval Academy graduate who seems to be a natural at looking after her son Sean Preston.

The onetime bar bouncer and ski instructor "was a nice, quiet guy with lots of friends," says a source who knew him back at the Academy, where he also played lacrosse. "He never seemed like the kind of guy who'd be lugging diaper bags around for Britney Spears."

Taylor certainly does do his share of heavy lifting around the Spears household: He's been photographed carrying the 9-month-old Sean Preston and pushing his stroller, as well as picking up groceries and bouquets of flowers.

But a source close to the pregnant pop star insists, "He's not her nanny." Then why is he holding the baby? "He's protecting Britney and he's protecting the child." An officer and a gentleman.
