Born on November 10, 1971 in Tehran, to Homayoun and Touran. She started acting in theatrical groups in elementary school.

This is how it all began:
In 1989, she acted for the first time in "The Temptation" by Jamshid Haidari. In 1990 she appeared in "The Bride" directed by Behrooz Afkhami, and in 1991 in "Sara" by Darioush Mehrjouii.
For "Sara", which was an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's "The Doll House", she won the silver shell award for the best actress at the "San Sebastian film Festival" and at the "Nantes film festival".
Then in the same year she went to USA to study design.
In 1992 she returned to act in "Pari" by Darioush Mehrjoui.
Pari, an adaptation of Salinger's "Frannie and Zoe", was a big success and won her the third Fajr film festival nomination for the best actress. She also won many critics award for Pari.
In 1998 she appeared in "Two Woman" by Tahmineh Milani, for which she won "Taormina film festival award" and a nomination for the fifth time at the Fajr film festival.
After that she acted in "The Hidden Half" by "Tahmineh Milani", for which she won the best actress award at the "Cairo film Festival" in 2001.
In 2001, She made a documentary about infertility. She premiered her first directing job with "To have or not to have", which won "The Rain" documentary award in Iran.
In 2002 she appeared in "The one flew over cuckoo's nest" by Ahmadreza Motamedi and "The fifth reaction", for both of which she won the best actress award at the Fajr film Festival.
Her Family is currently living in England.
She has a sister Nazanin (born in 1974), who is a lawyer and Khashayar (born in 1986), who is studying psychology.
14 years of acting, directing, and writing scripts for movies.
Acted in 21 films, many of which were acclaimed at international festivals and many others were successful hits in Iran.
