Reading books, novels, articles, newspapers, anything will improve your smartness
crosswords, lexicons, word searches, brain teasers, puzzles, and sudoko (number things), etc will make your mind sharp
Take courses on anything
Music lessons, learn to play an instrument and take lessons and practice often
Listen to a lot of things, expand your vocabularly
Have strong deep opinions
Read quotes and think about each one and all the meanings
Travel to new places and try new things, gain experience
