The Brothers Grimm (2005)


Brothers Jake and Will Grimm, renowned collectors of folklore, have made a career out of traveling from village to village pretending to rid them of "enchanted" creatures. Their bluff is called, however, when they are forced by Napoleon's French government to investigate a haunted forest where girls have been disappearing mysteriously. What they discover leads to a series of adventures involving an actual evil (and immortal) sorceress that mirrors that of mythology and the fables that the Brothers Grimm would eventually become famous for.

Ramezani takes on Uruguay's 14th Annual Children's Film Festival by sara Sefeed
The director Gholamreza Ramezan has walked away with lots to talk about from this latest film festival. This Iranian director, who made the film “Hayat”, won four awards at the 14th Annual Children's International Film Festival. The four prizes included the prestigious CIFEJ prize (Centre international de film pour l'enfance et la jeunesse), the OCIC (International Catholic Organization for Cinema) Prize, the SIGNIS prize of the World Catholic Association for Communication, and the audience favorite award.

The film is about a village boy Hayat, living in the north of Iran, who has to take the exam for the regional boarding school students. The boy's father falls sick and becomes unconscious, so Hayat has to take care of his 7-year-old brother and his baby sister.

Director Ramezani was born in 1960 in Arak and has worked as an actor, playwright, and director. His credits include the short films Habib, Water Reservoir, Last Homework, Five Stories, The Little Boy, and The Broken Boat. Hayat was his second feature, following his work in The Play.

This award-winning movie was also screened at the Berlin Film Festival, Children films section this year.

به گزارش سفارت ايران در ولينگتن ، در افتتاحيه نمايش اين فيلم ، سفير ايران طي سخناني به طرح وي?گيهاي سينماي ايران بعد از انقلاب پرداخت.

" گامبيز شيخ حسني" با تشريح اعتقادات، فرهنگ، آداب و رسوم و وي?گيهاي ملت و سرزمين ايران گفت: داستان اين فيلم تبلور معناي سخن سعدي در يگانگي بشر بوده گه يگي از وي?گيهاي برجسته فرهنگ ايراني- اسلامي است.

سفير ايران در نيوزيلند، سينماي ايران با قدمت يگصد ساله را، سينمايي اخلاقي غير هاليوودي و به تصوير گشنده احساسات پاگ و عميق انساني توصيف گرد.

در نمايش افتتاحيه اين فيلم، به دعوت سفير جمهوري اسلامي ايران، معاون وزير امور خارجه نيوزيلند و تني چند از مديران
قرار است "مهمان مامان" ساخته داريوش مهرجويي دو اگران نيز در شهر گرايست چرچ واقع در جزيره جنوبي نيوزيلند داشته باشد.

جشنواره بينالمللي فيلم نخل نيوزيلند جمعه گذشته آغاز بگار گرد.
