Shah Rukh bowls over Iranian film-makers

They love Shah Rukh Khan, Indian clothes and the sea. For well-known women film-makers from Iran, the trip to Mumbai is a chance to catch up on Bollywood, shopping and sight-seeing.

‘We love Hindi films as it is always interesting to watch on reel what we cannot have in real life,’’ says Pouran Derakhshandeh. The renowned director is currently in Mumbai with three Irani women filmmakers and one scriptwriter for the ongoing Third Eye — 4th Asian Film Festival.

After interacting with the media at the Inox multiplex on Friday, the women were happy to do some window shopping. ‘My teenaged daughter and I love the glitter and cut of Indian outfits,’’ says scriptwriter Minoo Fareshi.

Six films on contemporary issues concerning Iran and its people are part of the segment titled ‘Women Directors from Iran’ at the film festival. ‘I am not an activist, I am just a very talkative person who wants to express herself through her films,’’ says the soft-spoken Derakhshandeh. Her film ‘Candle in the Wind’ chronicles the life of young drug addicts.

ماهايا پطروسيان، بازيگر سرشناس ارمني سينماي ايران، هفته گذشته به دين اسلام و مذهب شيعه گرويد.

در پي ازدواج ماهايا پطروسيان با يك جوان مسلمان، هفته گذشته وي آيين مسيحيت را ترك كرده و مسلمان شد. اين هنرمند پر سابقه سينماي ايران در تماس خبرنگار ما، ضمن تاييد اين خبر، گفت: كه از مدت ها قبل براي باقي ماندن در مسيحيت يا گرويدن به اسلام در ترديد بودم كه با رويداد شخصي پيش آمده (ازدواج با يك جوان مسلمان) موجب شد از ترديد چند ساله در آمده و مسلمان شوم.

هنوز مشخص نيست كه پطروسيان نام شناخته خود را تغيير خواهد داد يا خير؟

خلاصه داستان

اين فيلم نگاهي به اوايل جنگ و اعزام نيروهاي جوان به جبهه دارد. ننه گيلانه به همراه پسر و دختر جوانش در كوران جنگ و در بمباران هاي تهران زندگي دشواري را مي گذرانند

يادداشت: رخشان بني اعتماد در سال 1382 كارگرداني يكي از سه اپيزود مجموعه روايت سه گانه را با عنوان ننه گيلانه كه به زندگي ننه گيلانه در پس از جنگ كه با عشقي مادرانه فرزند معلول اش را پرستاري مي كند، مي پرداخت بر عهده گرفت. اما با تمجيدهايي كه از اين اپيزود شد بني اعتماد تصميم گرفت با همكاري محسن عبدالوهاب زندگي ننه گيلانه قبل از جنگ را كه به ارتباط او و دختر دم بختش مي پرداخت بسازد و ننه گيلانه را تبديل به فيلمي بلند كند. نام فيلم جديد شد: گيلانه
