منتقدان به هنگام اعلام نام فیلم پسرم به عنوان برنده جایزه صدف طلایی به سر و صدا پرداختند و از این تصمیم هیات داوران به انتقاد پرداختند.

اما اعطای جایزه به بهمن قبادی برای نیوه مانگ با استقبال این منتقدان روبرو شد.

آقای قبادی قبلا در سال 2004 هم برای فیلم لاک پشت ها پرواز می کنند جایزه صدف طلایی را به خود اختصاص داده بود.
